    Re: Mission Chicago

13.1 miles in 2:20:58, 10:46 per mile. Nice, effortless run. Real flat course. Finished at about the pace I targeted. As I continue to drop the pounds, I'll keep trying to push the pace.

Overall, real happy with the first race of the year. Now, my focus shifts to a trail half marathon at the end of April. Lots and lots of hills are in my future. No hills to speak of close by to do any real hill training. I guess I'll have to work in a little bit of speed work (fartleks) to try to simulate the extra effort.

4 miles in on the treadmill. It's April 4th and there are 40+ mph winds and it is snowing. Only in Michigan.

4 miles in. Ran outside in the cold. Temps in the 20s and very windy. Finished in 39:03. Not too bad.

9 miles in. Pulled Sunday's run ahead. Real cold outside and windy again. Only 3 miler left for Sunday. Should be easy to fit that in around Easter dinner.

Reviewed the goals at the start of this thread.
Down 40 pounds since December and haven't missed a run in more than 8 weeks.

                  So far, right on track.

6 miles in today. Temps in the 40s outside. Very nice.

3 miles in 25:33. 7 miles per hour! This was my "speed" run for the week. Tomorrow is the long run of 12 miles. Probably target around a 10:45 min/mile or so pace.

Only 2 weeks until a trail half marathon I signed up for.

12 miles in just over 2:05. Just under a 10:30 pace. Getting quicker here and there. The short runs I'm running 10:00 minute miles or just under. No weight loss this week. Not stressing. Just gonna keep doing what I've been doing to this point.

12 mile long run for next Sunday, then the following Sunday is a trail half marathon. The elevation map shows lots and lots of hills.

29 miles in for the week. Schedule pretty much looks like 30 or so miles a week until mid July when the miles start ramping up. Following the Hal Higdon Intermediate II version training schedule on the internet.

4 miles in. Real sore today from my little weight lifting excursion on Monday. I did real light weights since I haven't been in to lift anything in almost a year. Well, now I hurt in places I didn't even realize I had. Oh well, this will make me stronger in miles 20-26.2 down the line.
