    I see you finished your flower bed today -- good for you. I got up this morning and it was all but ready to rain, so I had to run out and try and get the new garden soil broken up and raked up before the rain came....it has rained hard all day so it was a good thing I got out early.

    Today was a better eating day -- I had complete control from breakfast throughout the day. I have a flax cookie left for tonight but I've had everything else. I decided to stay on Rung 2 until I can get myself back on track again. It's the same rung but I need to master this one before I move on -- I've got to be able to move up one of these days.

    Did you try the Windows Life Messenger link I sent? I just thought it would be really fun to talk to each other more than just here.

      I've had a good day, too.

      We had steak off the grill tonight along with a salad from the garden and some spinach mustard greens... also from the garden. Not too creative, but I wanted to eat things I grew this evening, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

      I think your decision to stay where you are on OWL is probably a good one. Although I'm on OWL 4, I rarely eat nuts and have blueberries only now and then. I think knowing that I CAN have them is what's important. My daily eating is actually more like OWL 1, just because that's what I want to eat. I love veggies!

        Good morning ladies and germs....I'm trying something new today...I am riding my bike early in the day instead of mid afternoon---AND I am posting this as I'm on the bike....LOL!!!! This is a hoot. I remember someone said after I posted the pictures of the bike and my table on top of it that I should be on Atkins at the same time...well, today we are breaking new territory!! I'm watching the DVD of The Moody Blues Life At Red Rock -- one of my fav all time groups and my fav concert DVD I have of them. The hubs looks like the drummer...whoo hooo I'm a groopie -- sleeping with the band...ROFL!! OMG -- I'm too old for this!!

        The dvd is helping because I don't realize how far I've riden on the bike and I'm not constantly checking the mileage like when I have nothing to keep me occupied. I definately need something to keep my mind off my legs -- don't know if I'm going 15 or 20 miles today - we'll see. Ok I just looked -- I've gone 11 miles....

        I had to much fun talking to you last night Sunny -- I'll have to show you more of the little cute things on there. We'll have to get Ever in there with us.

        One thing about typing and riding, I don't spell too well...LOL!!! I spend more time backspacing!

        Ok -- need to go post around and see what's going on today...I shall return!!

          It was a 20 mile bike riding day!!! I'm hot and sweaty and ready to get off this seat!!! I feel great!

            I enjoyed talking last night, too!

            I am planning to go for a nice walk today instead of riding the bike. We are expecting rain the next few days, so I'd better get out and walk while I can.

            I also need to putz in the camper today and get it ready for camping next week.

            Other than that, I don't have a lot planned. Oh, will do a roast for dinner. I can put it in the oven and forget it while I do other things.

              We had taco's for dinner tonight. I had read where someone melted cheddar cheese and molded it into the shape of a taco shell so I tried it -- it was pretty good. I made them a little too early so the "shell" got a little tough (which was difficult to eat with dentures) but I managed to stick with it. They were really good. I took 1 ounce of cheese for each shell then only put about 4 or 5 pieces of cheese on top of the taco for show but could have done without any. I have eaten a couple taco salads since I started Atkins but didn't think I'd be having real tacos again....boy was I happy to sit at the table and hold my taco like mom and the hubs. I'll make them again - it just takes a little more planning to make sure I have time to make the shells before we eat.

                I haven't tried the shells yet. I've tried the cheese crackers and they are great. The next time I make tacos, I'll try them.

                I did a pot roast in a pot in our Baby Q Weber grill (with the lid down) tonight to keep the heat down in the kitchen. It only had a couple of burned spots.

                Our air conditioner guy didn't show up today to give us the estimate. It's HOT tonight!

                  wow - it's been a few days since I've been here. The weather has stayed dry for a few days which is nice - I managed to get nearly all the flowers planted in containers over the weekend ... I still have 18 geraniums to plant but that's it other than the garden.

                  yesterday I mowed the lawn but that was about it. I've had an upset stomach the past couple days so I haven't done much. I did manage to ride the bike both days but not as much as normal. I slept 4 hours this afternoon - laid down and was out like a light - when I woke up I felt a little better.

                  I made cream of cauliflower soup from Linda's site tonight. I was going to have it for dinner but decided to wait until tomorrow so it has time for the flavors to meld together. I need to blend some of the cauliflower so it makes it thicker and I am goint to add some cheese when I serve

                    well, my fingers got in the way and I sent that before I was finished....lol!!!

                    Today was my 4 month anniversary on Atkins. Wow - it doesn't seem that long but I feel so much differently than I did when I started. I have a real direction now that I was lacking. I enjoy food in a different way -- I love the way food tastes - putting different combinations of food together - seeing a variety of color on my plate - trying new recipes. My meals are anything but ordinary and boring -- I honesly think I take more time and enjoy cooking more now than I have ever before.

                    My good friend Sunny left the board this week. I miss having her here. I always knew there would be a post from her encouraging someone on their weight loss or trying to help them do the plan the right way. I hope she comes back. We hit it off from the very first day we met - like long lost siblings.

                      I've been posting this morning but when I hit the "go" button it says the server is too busy and to try back agin.....wow --those were some of my best posts around the place....well, my pearls of wisdom will not be sen or heard so there's nothing I can do.....

                      We are still having rain today -- it started last night before I went to bed and has rained non stop since. I can't get outdoors to walk or do anything in the garden, so I am riding my bike and trying to post at the same time. I figure 20 miles on the bike and an exercise DVD later in the day is a good amount of exercise. The 20 mile jaunts on the bike are easier and easier each time I do them....a couple days I only went 5 miles and I really felt like a slacker!!! And to think I got this bike off an internet swap site almost 3 years ago and had put a whopping 9 miles on it before I started Atkins. At first I was trying to get through 3 miles before my legs and boredom would get the better of me....now 20 miles - I've come so far. (Actually on the route 66 challenge this bike has gotten me through Illinois, Missouri and Kansas.....LOL)

                      Hopefully this post will go through -- if not I'm getting off for the day...it's a sign I'm not wanted here!

                        Carole, I have that problem with sending posts too. It happens a lot because we have Hughes.net satellite internet and when the weather is bad, it goes out. But even when the weather is good we have trouble with it. Our download speed is good but not the upload speed. I'm always doing speed checks. Their customer service is pretty good and when we call them, they get it fixed for awhile but we still have problems. I've lost a lot of posts because of it, but sometimes if I hit the 'refresh' button, it sends the message anyway even when it tells you it didn't! Go figure.

                        What kind of bike do you have? The one I have is so uncomfortable that I don't use it anymore. I would love to join the Route 66 challenge but I don't count miles in the exercises I do.

                          20-mile bike rides ... you go, girl! I've been slacking off all week, so you've inspired me to get off my duff ... thanx, Carole .

                          Yes, it is a bummer when online friends disappear ... that's happened to a few of mine from the early months here. They don't know how much they helped me over the hump. Hope they're doing ok.

                            my bike is a second hand stationery bike I got off an internet site that was a swap shop - for free. Since I've been riding to loose weight I bought a new seat because the one that was on it had no padding on it. I still have parts of me go numb when I'm riding but I get off for a minute do a few squats and get back on.

                            The first few weeks on Atkins I could barely get 3 miles without being so bored (and numb) I just quit. One day I decided to put the TV on and the next thing I knew I was over 5 miles....I went 10 miles that day. A few days later I decided I was going to try for 15 -- I did 15 miles for a couple weeks...then I decided to go for 20 - and I made it...I waited a few days and did 20 again to make sure it wasn't a fluke.....now I pretty much just ride 20 miles each time.

                            The TV is across the room but the DVD's I watch on my laptop. I have a TV tray across the handlebars so I can have the laptop there, or read a book - a place for my water. It takes 2 episodes of Moonlighting (no commercials) to ride 20 miles.

                            I would enjoy getting outdoors and being on a real bike, but I am happy with riding indoors now. My mother lives with us and has been ill for a couple years so I rarely leave her by herself. I do take her on short walks to keep her strength up and the dog loves going also -- of course I don't get my heartrate up with them, but it makes both of them feel better. After they go with me they come home and I walk our subdivision - I wear a pedometer when I go so I know how far I am walking. My husband got me a stepping machine for Valentine's Day because it's what I wanted - I do that every morning before anyone gets up.

                            In January I wouldn't have throught the exercise I do was possible -- but I've recently added the Hip Hop Abs DVD's and Belly Dancing DVD's to my routine. They are fun and challenging. Tomorrow I'll add small dumbell weights to my routine also.

                              I'm having quite a time today -- I started having a queezy stomach yesterday and it was worse this morning but after some "quality time" in the bathroom I'm starting to feel a little better. I haven't eaten anything different or new in the last few days so I don't think it is food related maybe just my luck to have an off day.

                              My blood sugar this mornng was 95 - much lower than it's been in the past week so I'm happy about that. I would love to get on the bike today but honestly I think it's best to take the day off from everything.

                              On Saturday after I did the 5K I came home (after a little shopping) and turned the garden soil over so it could dry out enough to plan something. I got up yesterday and planted the 8 tomato plants we bought a couple weeks ago. We still have lettuce, green onions, radishes, beans, zucchini and turnips to plant but we have bad storms coming in Wednesday lasting a couple days so I figure I can wait until after they over to plant everything else.

                              Tomorrow is mom's yearly appointment with the oncologist -- I'm hoping for a clean bill of health again. We are also having mammograms in the afternoon (yippie, yippie joy, joy!) it's such a "mother/daughter" thing to do right after Mother's Day...LOL.

                              Hopefully I feel better tomorrow!

                                I'm sorry to hear that you've had the flu, Carole. I hope you're feeling better today.

                                I've been slacking off on my exericse somewhat lately. I've been exercising but not getting the cardio I need to lose weight. But I'm determined to get back into my longer walks and swimming today.

                                The problem has been that since it's so nice out, my daughter who lives next door, wants to spend time working on her landscaping so I've been babysitting. She has a big yard and lots of plantings so it takes alot of maintenance. Chasing after a 1 year old can get me moving a little but not enough to make a difference. I need to huff and puff to shift this weight.

                                I've been getting outside more and I really enjoy that. I still have a flowerbed that needs turned over and some better soil added to it so I can get it planted. For Mother's day, my dd and sil brought me a whole wheelbarrow full of plants and yesterday, she dug some Pampas grass up for me to transplant over here. For some reason, I could never get it to grow for me but her's are beautiful. Hopefully I won't kill them!

                                Well, I need to wash dishes right now and then get on the elliptical machine.
