Re: Any 50 year old members out there?? Come on in and say hi
Good morning everyone!
Carole, somewhere we were talking about adjusting seats and handlebars to help prevent back pain/tailbone pain from riding the bike, I can't find the actual note, doesn't matter. The day after posting about that, I rode my bike for an hour, went just over 8 miles, a lot of it on bumpy gravel roads
but the ride itself felt good. My back was not happy about it,
, so I've been off my riding for 4 days while I concentrate on AB work. It reminded me why I had the drop handlebars in the first place!
I changed them to touring bars so I could use the bike for walking the
dog, the brakes had been too far away to reach while holding a dog leash! I think I kept the original handlebars, so I should really have them switched back.)
My back is much better today thank goodness, as we're off to see our mothers and other relatives
in Quebec, either Sunday or Monday. It's a long drive but we'll be stopping halfway, in a lovely inn, in Gananoque I think, just overnight.
My challenge for this vacation will be to stay on track. I'm actually looking forward to having steaks or grilled burgers (no bun) with salads or sauteed vegies. If I see a fruit/vegie stand enroute, I'll look for blueberries, cherries or tomatoes to snack on. My husband
will likely go off Atkins, as he can't seem to resist breads, fries, etc. I've already told him I plan to lose or at least stay the same in the week we are gone! I wish we had a laptop so I could track on Fitday, but I can write down what I eat, then input as close as possible when I get home
I'll be doing yoga
while I'm gone too, so that helps after sitting hours in the car.
Did you get your recumbent, Carole? Maybe I'll have my husband map our route out and try that as my "Route 66"
I'd like to take a different route than the 401 though, it's so boring.
Anyway, today's another work day, grey, misty raining and cool, but that's okay, we need the rain. Have a great Atkins day everyone, I'll post again before we leave I'm sure
