Hi all. I've been struggling, and am in one induction challenge....maybe joining a second will help me be truer yet.

I, Maribelle, promise to clean up my induction, to get healthier, avoid carb creep, increase my water, renew my exercise efforts, TAKE MY VITAMENS, an maintain a low carb summer.

This month should have been my one year anniversary, but I won't count it, since I messed up ALOT this winter. I've been struggling ever since just to stay on this WOE. Now, with temptations to make up my own locarb diet sneaking into my head every once in a while :yikes , I'm thinking about tightening my belt and starting again.

      Good luck everyone! :hug

Summer BBQ's every Sunday is my downfall. Gonna bring my own good stuff...plenty of meat and fresh salad from my garden.

Am I too late? Can I join in the challenge?

I, Yankee, promise to 'Clean up' my induction. To get healthier, avoid carb creep, increase my water, renew my exercise efforts, and maintain a low carb summer!!!

What do I dread most about this summer? Too much company coming. I'll get to do most of the cooking but our families are big into pasta salads and bread which I refuse to make anymore. Dh's family in particular can be intolerant and will try to push sweets on me.

How will I get through it? Prayer and the support of my dh, children, and everyone on this board!

I've been stalled at a 20 lb loss, deliberately went off the diet yesterday afternoon so I could restart today and maybe shock my system into losing - silly I know. I've reset my ticker though and intend to begin the challenge now..................

I had a good weekend. Had friends over for dinner Saturday. Went to another friends house for dinner Sunday. Saturday, made burgers and hotdogs for company, and a nice green salad. I also provided potato chips, and buns for them, but I didnt eat them. I wasn't even tempted. Went swimming after dinner, and then after company went home, I walked on the treadmill for 10 minutes. Then I couldn't sleep. I was wide awake until 3 a.m.

Last night our friends had us over for BBQ. They made chicken and steak. (I brought the steak actually) I had steak and green salad with olive oil and vinegar. Then we swam after dinner.

            Bad news this morning.

I made hardboiled eggs for breakfast, and had intended to bring them with me to work (I was in a rush). Well, I forgot my eggs. So now I get to starve until lunch time. 3 more hours. I have nothing here to eat. Usually I have some cheese or hardboiled eggs in the fridge at work, but of course, not today. Wish me luck!

I, Becky Sue, promise to 'Clean up' my induction. To get healthier, avoid carb creep, increase my water, renew my exercise efforts, and maintain a low carb summer!!!

What one event are you dreading most this summer?
I just got back from my Class of 68 class reunion. It was held in OKC. DH and I had a real nice time. While everyone else was eating carbie things I ate salads. I did drink tea(with caffeine) so I am retaining fluid today. But I didn't consume the carbs. I am now ready to get this WOL on the straight and narrow. I am ready to get to goal.

And how have you planned to get through it?
This summer I stay focused and drink my water. I will walk for exercise and lift weights. I am so happy to be under 200 lbs. I even wore size 12 capri pants to my class reunion and they fit!!! Yippeee!

Count me in Tammy. I am ready to rock and roll these extra pounds off my body. Now to tone up the ol bod.

              We can do this!!!

                      Hi ya'all,
I hope it's not too late to join.
I "kindandbeautiful" pledge to "CLEAN IT UP!!" - I have been slipping all over the place and only hurting myself in the process. I have vacation, a birthday and many summer social events to get past. Carb creep is an evil thing and seems to have taken place of cheating.

Lost and found.....could you give me the recipe for the following.....

And how have you planned to get through it?
By filling my table with deviled eggs, 7 layer salad, plenty of fresh veggies for dipping while they are munching chips...
Lots of meat choices and yummy ribs with a dry rub....
Maybe I'll make pepperoni chips and Pepper jack cheese chips with a bit of salsa. And staying close to fitday, plugging in all my ingredients for a safe carb count!! Iced green tea...wonderful and totally refreshing!!!

                        I would be happy to...

Mix together 1 cup of mayonaise and a couple of shake's of the following, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper. And any other spices that you like.
If you like a bit of sweet flavor you can add a packet of splenda.

                        Seven Layer Salad

The amounts of ingredients are your call. Just remember to count those carbs!! These are all induction safe and so yummy!!

Layer the following, in this order:

                        Chopped or shredded Lettuce
Mayonaise mixture (put your mayo mix in a squeeze bottle and it's much easier)
                        Diced green onions
                        Sliced red peppers (slice lengthwise)
                        Diced celery
                        Fresh broccolli florets
                        Lettuce
                        Mayoniase mixture
                        Grated cheddar cheese
                        Crumbeled bacon

End with a diced roma tomato on top

Cover with a tight fitting lid and let 'set' in the refrigerator for at least 1/2 hour before serving. YUMMY!!!

                        Pepperoni chips

This is easy! Place pepperoni's on parchment paper or paper towel and place directly on the turntable plate in your microwave. Cook on high for approx. 2 and 1/2 minutes and check for crispiness. You make have to nuke for a few more seconds or less...
They taste a lot like bacon. Perfect for dipping. I usually make the whole pack for a party and arrange on a platter with the cheese chips and a nice dip. Zero carb!

                        Pepper jack cheese chips

Another easy one but a tad bit trickier. Use the deli slices that are zero or 1 carb per slice.
I get 6 squares from each slice representing a chip. If you want bigger or smaller chips just break them up however you like.
Place on parchment paper and microwave watching closely until they start to brown a bit. Check for crispiness by allowing one to cool. You may have to nuke again for a few seconds but you will get the hang of it.
Let cool and peel off paper. These are wonderfully crispy and hold up well to use with salsa or a nice carb free ranch dressing. I like them with crab dip too. Thats just shredded crab meat, diced celery, and a carb free ranch dressing.

                        Hugs, Tammy

Those recipes sound tasty! Gonna have to try those.

Worked out again yesterday. Did 2 and a half miles on the treadmill and did circuit training for about 45 minutes. Am currently focusing on the weight machines that work on my thighs and behind..... as those are my biggest problem areas. And I managed to drink 66 oz of water. I know that isn't much compared to what some of you drink....but, it is a lot for me!

Am quite fired up about this challenge we have going. I am not not one to set goals being as I am afraid I won't make them. But.... my goal for this challenge is to be down to 175 by the end of August. Guess now that I said it.... I gotta make it happen!

                            Hugs....

Wow Snap!! You really are on the ball. Good for you. I got 120 oz's in today. I'm shooting for 200 tomorrow and every day after that! When I kicked up my water last summer, I lost 36 pounds in 6 weeks! I haven't seen weightloss like that since. But I also haven't drank my water like that since!! lololo
I'm a firm believer that water is the secret...And no bread of course!!

Ok...I know this wasn't a whooshy. But I lost 3 pounds overnight!! Our Air conditioning went out and it was so hot and humid here ...oh my gosh I thought I would sweat to death. My DD remembered she had a window unit in storage and DH brought it home tonight . We are beginning to feel comfortable again...whew!! I'm sure my weight will be back up tomorrow...dehydration has a way of doing that to me...lol

We are all doing so great!!
