      I, Susan, swear to be faithful to the Atkins Way of Life in order to become healthier and look and feel better about myself. Whether facing fluctuations of the scale, fourth of july picnics, birthday parties, or mean jerks who want to tear us down..., I will not waver in my determination to the promise I have made to myself on this day! For I know that if I am true to the Atkins WOL, health and confidence will surely follow!

      My goal is to lose down to 210 lbs by christmas (or the end of the year).

      I know that when I achieve my goal, I will be healthier and off my BP medicine.

      And I promise that when I am having trouble, I will come to my fellow teamsters to help! In addition, I will help my team out by also providing encouragement, wisdom, and understanding when they need it.

        I think we're off to a great start!

        Today, has been an Atkins day, but I was definitely nodding my head, :yes when I read the words "BORING." I need to go grocery shopping, so that I can get excited about my food selection.

        Breakfast: 3 scrambled eggs; used olive oil

        Lunch: salmon; I wanted to have a salad, but I ran out of fat-free, carb-free dressing. :sadblinky

        Dinner: Haven't had yet, but I'll be having salmon, 1 cup broccoli or 1 cup green beans. Oooooo...how thrilling! :tounge


        I'd like to exercise today, but I'm feeling a little lazy today...maybe depressed. I haven't had my meds, yet. You know, I wish I had a cup of coffee w/ splenda right now! I think I'll pick some up on my way to the supermarket.

        I'm being a GOOD GIRL!!!

          I'm going to go by inches as well. My current measurements are:

          Neck 15.25"
          Bust 48.5"
          Upper arm 16"
          Forearm 11.5"
          Waist 44.5"
          Abdomen 53.5"
          Hip 51"
          Thigh 28"
          Calf 18.5"

          Weight 250 lbs. :yikes

              No, I've gone to OWL, I've given myself 18 months to lose the 121 lbs. I need to lose. I felt this was more realistic for me than trying to stay on induction the whole time. I needed the varying menu. :nod

                I hope everyone had a lovely atkins friendly day.

                Today's menu was kinda boring

                B: 3 scrambled eggs with sausage
                L: wow, did i forget to eat lunch? (oops, will do better tomorrow)
                D: mock danish, 1/2 cup of broccoli and cauiliflower mix

                I was a good girl and drank all of my water, and did a smallish workout (will do some more tonite after Abigail is in bed).

                I am really excited about this group, I needed some extra motivation and I think this will be just the thing.

                Question for you guys: I am so bad at taking pills, I forget all the time. How do you remember to take your daily supplements?

                  I did fairly well today too.

                  B- 1 fried egg with bacon
                  L- 1 sm sirloin steak with broccoli
                  D- Salad with cucumber, squash and zucchini and mayo
                  Snack-AA Choc shake, pork rinds

                  Walked on treadmill X 2 for 28 min at 1.8 mph each time
                  Took all my supplements and 120 oz water

                  Am feeling energetic for the last few days, something I am just now beginning to feel and I've been on Atkins for about a month. I thougt I was never going to get to feeling that energy everyone was talking about. Also am sleeping better at night. Now I just need to lose enough weight to be able to come off all my BP meds and not have to use my CPAP machine at night (for sleep apnea). They say when you lose 50 lbs, you need to be re-evaluated for your sleep apnea. ha

                    I know some people suggest to make it a part of your routine; always taking it at the same time of day (in morning, or right before bed, etc)


                    What works for me is, I put my vitamins in the place that I'm most often around (for me, right next to my computer, lol). When I have my water with me, and I see the vitamins, I usually remember to take them at least once a day.

                      Hello all! You are doing So well!

                      Theaterlover, My advice is to get your food bought and then take it off your mind. If you concentrate on what you are eating all the time its going to drive you nuts. Make eating almost a "chore" so to speak. It will help you concentrate on other things and make the time fly. And remember, You know you must exercise when your brain is telling you not to...don't lose the struggle, fight it! :nod :hug

                      I am on extended induction just like Mary is. But all are welcome here of course.

                      Alrighty, this weekend I am going to start taking tally of everyone and every body so we can start keeping track.

                      This sunday is my monthly weigh in, I am so nervous. I know I have lost tons of inches, but sometimes the number on the scale helps a little for motivation.

                        I think I am going to start doing like some of you and not weigh every day. Which is going to be hard!! But I get frustrated and then give up! So my next weigh in will not be until next Wed which is 6-22. Because I leave to go out of town next Thur.

                          1 hour Jogging today did 4.03 miles a little less then last time but, it's still 1 hour so I am pretty happy with myself. YAY. I think I pulled something in my right leg the muscle infront of my shin it has a knot. NO, it's not shinsplints the muscle is really tight and it didn't start hurting till after my run darn it. ICE and heat tonight probably going to have a nice hot BATH WOOHOO.

                          Any how just thought I would tell you all how I did.

                          This is going to be a great group I can't wait to see everyone that has joined. Thanks for all the support on my Jog mucly appreciated.

                            That's a great goal to work towards! I'm sure you'll do it, and before the challenge is over too, i'll bet!

                            iyamamaschke, great job on your jogging!!


                            I just got done on the treadmill. I did 31 minutes from 2.7 to 2.9 for 1.40 miles, including a quarter mile at an incline of 1.0! I feel pretty good! Took my vitamins, and have been drinking lots of water.

                            Now if I can just get myself to study for monday's test! :yikes

For I know that if I am true to the Atkins WOL, health and confidence will surely follow!

                              My goal is to get down to 190 lbs & at least a size 16 (I'm currently a size 20 - 22 at the moment) by christmas (or the end of the year).

                              I know that when I achieve my goal, I will exercise every day at least 35 minutes on my eclyptical machine plus whatever other exercise I can do, as well as drink 8 glasses of water perday, and stick to the plan as best that I can!

                              And I promise that when I am having trouble, I will come to my fellow teamsters to help! In addition, I will help my team out by also providing encouragement, wisdom, and understanding when they need it.

                                I know that when I achieve my goal, I be much healthier and will have the confidence to continue to my goal of 125!
