Just back from vacation and too bushed to do anything, so I'd better make a pledge and get busy.

I pledge to take my dogs on 3 long walks by Sunday night.

I've been having some ankle swelling from my treadmill walking. I posted a note in the exercise challenge about it and got a response that helped a lot. The post pointed out that I had to rapidly increased my mileage walking from 2 miles to 3 miles within a few days rather than a few weeks. He recommended I cut back to 2 miles and only increase .25 miles per week and he felt like my ankles would quit swelling. Think I will try that. He indicated I should adjust my speed to get my heart rate to go up into my range of 119-137 to burn the fat I was trying to burn. Do ya'll agree with this. I've lost the 3 lbs. I had regained which I guess was fluid so I'm back on track. Hope some more will come off by Saturday-weigh in day. I'm still losing inches though. I'm still in ketosis according to the ketone stick. Hi all, Sorry I haven't been posting much, but its been pretty emotionally draining around here....tough times.

That is a great idea punkin, and makes total sense. Also, think I Could still your small banner in your sig? lol I would love to have it in mine.

Well, I am pretty beat. I have been practicing long marches on my weight lifting days. Basically, the night before I walk to my nephew's house, which is 4.5 miles, then the next morning I walk back ..so its about 9 miles all together. It would be easier if it was all flat, but believe me when I say, its up hill both ways All I need now is snow and to be bare footed. hehe That along with my running and weight lifting I should be doing pretty good soon. I am hoping to get into those 38's by the end of the month. I already have a pair waiting for me lol

        Take care all.

Sorry to hear about your poor ankles Punkin, take it easy and get lots of rest. The treadmill will be waiting for you tomorrow.

Well folks I did it, I finally got up and decided that I needed to quit skirting the excercise. I joined the six week excercise challenge and worked hard yesterday and again today. I am excited, I feel pumped up again. I used to work out regularly but after getting diagnosed with carpel tunnel syndrome I dropped it, I would do something every once in a while, for a while there I walked 3 times a week for 2 weeks but then I dropped it again. I am committed now, I joined the challenge and I am sticking with it.

Yesterday I did the walk and job WATP tape, it was awesome I really enjoyed it, then I did free weights, crunches, dogs, and stretching for another 45 minutes.

Today I went rollerblading for 25 minutes, and then played basketball for another 30. I feel great but I have to remember to take it easy with my hands. I am so excited to be back on the excercise wagon I hope everyone is feeling as good as I am right now. Getting into Onderland was the kick in the a** I really needed to start working my atkins harder.

                  My thoughts exactly!

Did another 20 minutes of rollorblading this evening. I am trying to do something in the morning and in the evening so I can keep my metabolism up. Total for the day I burned off 662 calories just from the excercise. For the day I only have a total of 1000 impact calories. I hope the scale and the measuring tape reflect how hard I'm working.

Yoly; you're doing a fantastic job with the exercise!!

Punkin; I hope your ankles feel better soon. I've had the same problem many times, good luck!!

oye, right as I'm feeling really good about my success so far I get slammed with a flue Yesterday and today I just felt way too sick to even think about exercising. I have a final exam on friday so I'm so mad that i couldn't have gotten sick after that!! I have been staying under my 20 carbs a day, but I feel I have been eating larger quantities then usual. I kind of feel like, my body should concentrate on fighting the flu and not on burning fat, at least until after my final exam. I'm thinking that this is going to totally ruin this week's hard work , I'm really bummed about it.

Hi everyone sounds like you're all doing brilliantly from the posts I've read.

I'm off to Boston tomorrow morning so am rushing around trying to finish ironing and packing etc. but wanted to check in before I leave and am off the boards for a little while. Wish me luck in my upcoming business challenges.... this next week could get a bit scary!

On the weight loss front, the scales were a little mean last week with only a quarter of a pound loss - not worth mentioning really apart from the fact that it's still a loss and not a gain. I'm going to stay on plan and have no intention of cheating whilst away so will let you know my results when I return next saturday. The only thing I'm a little worried about is the plane food but think I'll take a little emergency pack so I don't get caught out!

Have a successful low carb week and will look forward to catching up soon x

Mary-Chan - so sorry to hear about your flu troubles. Take it easy, stay in bed and get lots of rest. As far as your eating maybe try some chicken broth (0 carbs ), or something that will be soothing to your stomach. I know some people experience tummy troubles when they try to eat more carbs, I would hate for you to have to go through that WHILE on the flu.Take care of yourself, hope you feel better.

Sarah - I envy you being able to do all that running. I hope one day before I'm 60 (54 now) that I'm small enough to get out there and give running a try. I will probably have to fight off my husband to be able to get out there. He will say it is too dangerous for a woman to run on the streets. Or, he will follow me in the car.

I was down 3 lbs. this morning. I was so shocked because my ankles are hug this morning and I know some of this has to be fluid since it has been so hot and humid outside and I was outside a lot yesterday. But anyway, I was tickled pink
