After a stall that seemed to go on forever the scale finally moved. I'm happy but this means I've blown my goal of not stepping on it for a month. I think the only way to succeed at that is to get rid of it entirely!

Today I will drink ALL of the water I am supposed to drink!

Breakfast: 2 egss, scrambled with bacon
    decaf
    24 oz bottle of water

    Lunch: burger
    cukes and half a tomato
    more water

    Dinner: steak
    grilled peppers
    salad
    more water

When you start out trying to run the besat is to start out walking. Walk at a comfortable pace for 1 week then increase the pace just slightly the next week and slightly again. Not to the point your going to die of palpitations or are getting dizzy LOL. Comfortably faster. As the speed goes up you'll feel like wanting to jog maybe only 2 minutes but hey that's 2 minutes. Or you can do run walking which starts as 4 minutes walking 1 minute rinning. and do that for 20-30 minutes. As your cardio vascular system improves so will the duration of the running. 3 minutes walking 2 minutes running and so on week by week until you are running 5 minutes straight. Your body will know when you can increase the minutes REALLY. Don't go too fast we don't want you to injure yourself I kinda push myself extremely hard.

I also lift weight between my running days I run generally every other day to give my body a rest and lift weights on the days I don't run.

If you need any more info I will try my best to answr I sure hope that info helps though and you can start to get your exercise in it's a great way to help your Atkins work for you.

        Running

Would you recommend someone of my size to attempt to run? I am 47 and weigh 315 (without clothes) at just 5 ft 4 and my feet scream in pain from just standing up let alone walking.

Should I be trying, or will it do more harm than good?

          Welcome, Helena! :icondance

Before I started exercising, my feet, and especially my ankles, were always in pain. About two months before I started atkins, I started slowly just trying to increase my physical activity level. I just took small measures to become more active at first, like parking a little further, or walking my dog a little farther then usual. Or just kind of dancing in place when I was waiting for something to finish microwaving. Anything I could think of. It seemed a much easier task for me then actual "exercise".

Eventually I started with a really really low-impact workout video that I had got while doing Jenny Craig - it had segments, so you could do 10 minutes, 20, or 30 minutes. I started out with 10. I figured "i should at least be able to do 10 lousy minutes!". So I did that a few times a week, and eventually got up to doing the 20. Then I started using my treadmill a little and a variety of other exercising. I still have foot problems, but much less so then usual. I think the combination of actually stretching my feet out from exercising, and the loss of even 14 pounds has helped it immensely.

I don't think I could have started out with running, or I would have died! But now I think it's possible. I guess it depends on how much exercise you've been doing beforehand.

Anyway that is my long boring story, but thought maybe by posting it, anyone who is reading it thinking they are too out of shape to exercise, could see that you don't have to start out with anything intense to get good results!

Well if your feet hurt and such starting out running isn't a good idae start out walking that is the best bet. As you lose you will be walking faster and faster cause the weight you did carry is gone and you are lighter on you feet. DOn't push it too hard any exercise is great and your doing your body a lot of good doing just about anything make sure you are comfortable that's the main thing.

I too when I was 285 pounds it was hard to walk I would get out of bed with aching feet and a sore back I couldn't stand I thought my feet were going to lapse into a coma. I started walking. Within 2 months I was 250 and started jogging not more then 5 minutes though. I increased from there. You have to start somewhere and walking is a great start. I am also extremely muscular for a woman. Most women are aroun 100-110 lbs of Lean Body mass I am 147 Pounds of Lean Body mass so it is easier to carry around my weight then someone with less muscle mass. Just be sure to stretch start slow LISTEN to your body if it hurts slow down or rest. We don't want ya hurting yourself.

Alrighty you gorgeous ladies, its 3 minutes until Monday morning. I am back from my mini-vacation and today was my weigh day.

I am 10lbs down, so altogether thats 40-45lbs gone since the beginning of April, but most importantly, I have went from a tight size 44's to a tight 40's in pants and from XXL to a Xl in shirts. I have increased my strength aswell.

This weekend was bad for me, and I know its going to set me back, of course I didn't cheat. I just didn't eat as much food as I should, I was staying at someone elses house and didn't want to stack up the fridge since I was leaving tonight, and I didn't want to spend money eating out. So I chose not eat as much. I did celebrate my weight loss today with a 1Liter of Diet Rite, and didn't exercise this weekend. Now that I got my relaxation in....Monday it begins.

For the next two weeks its going to be brutal...My body doesn't even know what I have in store for its (insert evil laugh here). I am going to become a fat burning machine. I gotta get into those 38's. Also I am adding another goal to my Christmas goal. I am going to get to where I can press 200lbs over my head. I am already at 125. I got to show it off this weekend by lifting a girl over my head at a get together. I tell ya, it excited me by showing off. I can't wait to get to pick my friends up over my head lol!

Anywho, so this is are "FAT BLASTER" line up so far.

              Yoly1001- weigh 165lbs
              Theatrelover(Kai)- lose 65lbs
              Punkin50(Susan)- To be at 210

10 pounds is awesome!!! Wonderful job, Fightingthefight!! :icondance :icondance :icondance :icondance We knew your hard work would pay off!!

I know I said I wouldn't weigh myself today, but I decided to do it anyway, and was glad I did, it went down finally! Glad to see the fluctuation was just that - a fluctation and not actual fat gain. I'm glad I did it, because everything else today has been stressing and frustrating as heck.. It's nice to see the scale move down and remember that at least I have some control over my health. But yes, I must admit I am a scale-addict!

Hope everyone else is doing absolutely WONDERFUL today!!! If not, post about it, and I'll see if the dancing banana can make you feel better :dancingb:

I had too much salt this weekend and so gained 5 overnight but, I know it's water retention as my feet are swollen Off to drink a ton of water and be a litttle more strict today. I'm sure it'll be gone tomorrow no worries. I am hoping to lose a little this week that would be nice I would like to be in the 210's by the end of the month that would be nice only 5 pounds. LOL

Today was my last day of school - the kids were out last Friday but staff has a day or two beyond. Anyway, it was party time. I haven't seen so much carb-loaded food in one place in a long time. Or maybe it was just that I never cared that it was all carb-loaded! I'd brought my own lunch, thank goodness, and only supplemented it with a half dozen strawberries. Had to put the blinders on when it came to all that cake!!!! I am now finishing off my last bottle of water for the day and will go to bed thankful for the support of all of you that got me through today...............

I have been frustrated with the scale, at first I was losing steadily but it seems to have slowed down to a snales pace. I might lose a pound every other week. Originally I had been really into working out, I got hurt and lost my motivation. Well this morning I decided that the reason I am not losing is because I am not moving! So this morning I decided enough is enough. I am so motivated and encouraged by all you guys who are working so very hard.

I did everything exactly right today, definatly by the book. I did the cross-trainer for 30 minutes, weights, I drank all my water, ate all the right foods, and right now am about to go take my supplements. I have been sitting in between 200 and 201 and I am **** bent and determined to get to Onederland by the end of this week.

Oh, and I got the WATP tapes coming in the mail, they should be here by the end of the week so that should really help too!

Well congrats everyone on their weight loss and keep up the good work, I'm off to bed...goodnight.
