      • Hi roshan :wave
We have had plenty of snow flurries the last few days but though it feels cold in the wind nothing has settled. We very seldom get snow here in 'sunny' Bournemouth - I think the last time we had over an inch would have been 15 years or so ago!
In a way I am glad it has been cold as I have been able to claim my DH's new leather anorak with the quilted lining. I told him when we bought it that if I ever fitted into it I would!!! He can have it back next winter when it is too big for me!
You go carefully in all that snow wont you - no slipping over and hurting yourself :hug
I am now on the nuts/seeds rung of OWL and am enjoying the extra choices. Just realised that I can have more linseed (flax) bread if I feel like a bacon sarnie now!! I'd forgotten it was on this rung :yikes

        • PESI: I'm so sorry to hear you lost your grandma. :hug :hug Take care.

Hi All: I've been struggling a bit. A few minor slips off the wagon but I learned that what I though I was missing was not the big a deal after all. If anything my slips have just made me stronger in this WOE for Life. My tastebuds are changing. This WOE is becoming very natural and much easier to stick to. Water and exercises are my big challenges right now.

I just heard that I may be a DA at the March bootcamp. Setting a good example is just what I need right now. Blessings just keep popping up in my life.

          • Well I am finally back on track. Sunday was a clean day. I treated my urge to nibble with garlic pawns and got through the day. 2400 cals 22 net carbs, 8 cups water, no exercises (my goal is 3x per week).

This weeks goals 12 - 16 cups water, 3 long walks or trips to curves, 20 carbs per day max.

                • I am fine, Michelle but it seems as if there's just you and me left here on ha at present :yikes
I have been working out how I react to introducing nuts/seeds these last 2 weeks and seem OK. Havent lost weight but have lost half an inch from my hips!

Tomorrow it is Mothering Sunday (Mother's Day) here and we are off to visit my mum and take her out for lunch to a posh restaurant. A real challenge but I think I shall be fine.

I have done a bit of baking today - soy strawberry buns, almond/strawberry cakes and macaroons for Sunday tea at Mum's so DH can tuck in with everyone else and not feel out of it (poor soul). I am going to start on the berries rung tomorrow so can have a couple of the buns this time. Last family get-together I could only have flax buns as I was still on induction!

Last week we collected my new bike but the weather has been too cold and icy to go out on it yet :sadblinky

                  • I'm still struggling - weight going up daily :sadblinky . I won't be able to check in for a while. I'm on my way to the hospital early tomorrow morning. The operation is scheduled for Tuesday. I had so hoped to at least be the weight I was in September for the first operation, but I am 20 pounds heavier. Wish me luck and I'll let you all know what is going on when I can. It might not be until the end of April

                    • Hi Marj,

Don't be so blue. Look at your siggy. You've lost a lot of weight. Maybe the pressure of lossing for the operation was too much to handle. Heaven knows I can never loose for a deadline of any type. Give me a deadline and I will gain every time. :yes :yes

Right now you need to take care of your recovery. Hospital food will not be on plan but you will have to eat to get well. Look forward to getting home and your own kitchen. I hope you have an uneventful hospital stay and a speedy recovery.

                      Best wishes,
                      Michelle,

Hope everything goes well with the op marji, please take care of yourself and i wish you a speedy recovery.

hi ellizelen, how did the lunch with you're mother go,i was taken out but stuck to steak and a side salad , i was pretty tempted when the desserts trolley came round,i'll tell ya...they looked soooo good, but i didnt give in and nibbled on some cheese from the board instead.
Those buns and cakes of yours sound wonderful,i dont do half the baking i used to since induction, but as i climb the rungs im gonna certainly start again.

good to hear your back on track michelle,it sounds like you're really giving it everything you have
Its so easy to slip off that wagon, but it takes a strong will to get back on ,so well done to you

hi to anyone else who pops in ,hope you're all doing ok

                          • Hello everyone :wave

All our thoughts are with you Marji for your operation :hug As Michelle said - your pressing concern will be to recover from the surgery rather than to worry too much about what you eat. We look forward to hearing that you are back home and able to look forward to a healthier future soon.

Roshan it sure sounds like TOM to me - I'll keep my fingers crossed for a wooshie after!

Sounds as if you did well with the meal out.

We had a great time out on Sunday - smoked salmon for starters (left the toast on the side) followed by chicken breast in a cream and peppercorn sauce that the waiter assured me had just cream/butter and peppercorns in the making of it. In the 'olden days' I would have moaned about the quantity of veggies - a few beans, cauli florets, cocktail-sized onions (plus roast potatoes which I left) and wished for more but I found the small portion quite filling!
The desserts were carb-**** - all sticky and sweet - but when I asked if they could let me have a piece of cheese instead they produced a nice selection - brie/stilton/goats cheese/smoked cheddar - so I didnt feel deprived at all. I even tried to judge the quantity and ate what I think was about 4 ounces only instead of clearing the plate!

And everyone loved my buns too so the whole day was a success.

I am constantly amazed how much control I have with food now both in portion-control and choices made. I keep having to tell myself not to get too cocky in case I slip :yikes

Good luck everyone this next week :wave

                            • Hello to everyone. I just wanted to post a quick update. I'm sorry I've been MIA but I've been very sick. I battled the flu for the entire month of February and ended up being hospitalized on the 28th of Feb through the 3rd of March. My flu turned into dehydration and pnemonia. I am just now getting my strength and my appetite back. I hit a record low of 210 pounds the day I was hospitalized but gained 10 of it back by way of fluids that they were pumping into me in the hospital. I'm now back down to 213 and hopefully back on track. I hope everyone is doing good. I finally got into a size 16 jeans and bout died. Good luck to everyone and I'll try to post more often now. (hopefully I'll stay well. Everyone keep their fingers crossed for me)

Determined to hit goal this time around!
