Great job on the loss and for getting back into training.

I only do a little of MMA style, seems like my BJJ takes up most of my time, I finally got my purple belt (in BJJ) last week (5 years later-lol), kind of a surprise but BJJ is funny like that. Were do you train?

    Anyway great job.

I had said I wanted to be in onderland by March 1 so I have 5 more days! I can do it!

Cat, I second what Roger said... you just focus on getting yourself better. After that though girly, it's back to Jammin'! You use Turbo Jam, right? I saw an infommercial on it the other day. It looks fun.
Thanks Liz!! I use to rock TJ. Then I sprained my ankle 3 times in one year. They said it would take 2 years to heal and they weren't lying. Unfortunately I also developed arthritis in my spine (from being rear-ended 3 times at stop lights -is 3 my lucky number or what). Who doesn't stop at a stop light? People in KY I guess. I also developed morton's neuroma in my foot. However, I'm not a quitter and I don't really care when doctors tell me I can't do something (like not being able to have kids without drugs due to Endometriosis - ha! I proved them wrong). I just search until I find something that will help. That's when I found the orthotics online and now my back pain and foot pain is gone (as long as I wear the orthotics). I'm still not over-doing it....don't want to reinjure myself but as soon as I feel my body can handle it...I'm going back to Turbo Jam with full force. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!! You have to try it. You won't be sorry.

Don't be upset (losing...even if it's not as much as you want...is better than gaining). You can do it (be in Onederland by March 1st). We're cheering you're on.

Porcelain, you are so close to onederland. How exciting! You'll be there in no time, don't you worry.

Congrats on the 2 pounds down Digital. Glad things are lightening up at work a bit.

Good luck on your weigh in tomorrow Sarah. Mine is tomorrow too. I'm a little worried after my week long vacation. Keeping my fingers crossed for both of us!

Wow, being rear-ended once is not fun, I can't imagine 3 times. Good for you for not accepting when the doctor's tell you that you can't do something. I'm sure you'll be back to Turbo Jam eventually but you're definitely right to take it slow and not overdue it. I'll have to check it out. It did look fun.

I've been involved with some kind of martial art or wrestling most of my life until the last probably 8 or 9 years, and I just missed it so much. About a year ago my coach opened his place up about a mile from my house (www.championsfamilyfitness.com) and I trained there for 6 months straight, and just let work and life get in the way of going. One of the changes I've decided on in this WOL is that I'm just not going to let tha happen.

I don't know that I'll ever fight, but I love the training, and I've got 20 years of boxing/wrestling and various striking diciplines worth of knowledge to share with younger fighters. The running joke around the gym for quite a while was to let someone new go up against the "old fat guy" just to see their reaction.

We train submissions, not really traditional BJJ but there's an awful lot 'borrowed' from various BJJ schools and worked in to whatever works best for that particular fighter.

It's funny, I've been running/walking and have dropped some weight in the last month or so, but going yesterday to class taught me just how BAD my cardio is. I used to be able to go for the entire 3 hour class, and I was completely done yesterday after the first rounds of sparring. It was only sheer stubbornness that kept me going after that.

I'm down 1.5 pounds for this week at 192.5. Gosh being this close to the 80s is exciting!!

Well, I'm off to Pizza Hut. My daughter's request: a personal pan, cheese-only pizza. She has hardly eaten since Wednesday so I had to oblige.

60 minutes of walking for me today. Was slow and painful with a few rest stops. I seem to have aggrevated my back again. Good grief! My SO is on me to go see a chiropractor, but I don't know if I want to do that yet. I have an aversion to doctors. So, I just slap one of those heat patches on it and try to ignore it.

That's great, I know you what you mean about the cardio, there is nothing like sparring to let you know where you are, wether it's boxing or grappling. The first time I grappled, I think I was exhausted about 1 minute into, lol.

I'm glad you have gotten back to it, I love it. I do BJJ 2-3x a week and then at least one no-gi/submission grappling session as well.
