This is such a great list. Isn't it great how the internet has made us all like next door neighbors instead of miles a part.

You are better off without the low carb foods. Stick to healthy vegetables and meats and seafood. You'll be better off.

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.

Hi! I am from Malaysia. Did the Atkins about 1 and a half years ago for about 2 months and slowly drifted away and in the course, added more weight!! Now, I am back - hoping to rid the weight off successfully by Atkins or low-carbing.

Stevia (the natural sweetener) just hit the market this month!! and at an afforable price. Have always been against aspartame so this is great for me. The GNC stores here carries some low-carb bars but at ridiculous prices, even with their 10 - 40% discounts. Well, I can't afford it since it is not a one time thingie. I buy designer whey protein powders whenever it is on a good sale - it helps a substitute drink. Especially when I got friends over and they are having a hot drink. That way I don't feel deprived.

Food here are naturally high in carbs whether you dine in or out. So most of the time it is just safer for me prepare my own meals. I love going to the Indian restaurants when I am low-carbing!! Then I can order fried chicken or fish, or just have some of the many meat dishes. Going to the Chinese restaurants is a bit tricky cos lots of different types of noddles that I luv, there starch in most of the cooking like soups, stirfry veggies, etc and hidden carbs like in soya sauces, etc.

We have bacon and stuff but it is not nitrate free, so choices are really limited. Most I stick to wholesome food and if I do that accordingly, I believe I should be successful .............. just gotta be true to the program!!

Well, here Atkins WOE is neither really popular nor well known.
In the last month "Kremljovskaja" diet (they say that people from the Kremlin had success with it) became popular. I guess the main issue is the same as in Atkins as you have to avoid carbs. But every food has its own score. Meat, for example, is 0. So, u have to limit you meals to ... (I don't know exactly how many) score a day.

But I preferred to stick to Atkins' as there is more info about it and I find it more scientific.

What country are you currently living in and what is your biggest Atkins hurdle.

                                biggest Atkins hurdle...lets see....

I'm not really a pork eater, or pork rinds, but if you are you would have a hard time finding pork products....You can buy pork products in some grocery stores like Spinneys....

I'm not really having too many hurdles doing Atkins. There are fast food places here, but in the grocery stores you don't find as many frozen ready to eat things as you would int he west, so it forces you to really cook, which is good as Atkins relies on the fresh is the best kind of way of cooking / eating.

Veggies here are much cheaper than back in Canada, which is a bonus. Makes Atkins and this WOE much more pleasant...

Another thing is the water...you can only drink bottled water...
Back in canada (vancouver area) you can drink from the tap it is still clean water....you will get sick here if you try to drink from the tap...

that's about all I can think of!!
