  • Doing good here, other than the diet dew's---limiting myself to 2 a day yet today since my 2 yr old (which means me too) only slept for 3.5 hrs last night. Grandpa let her sleep for 4.5 hrs yesterday!!!!! UGHH! Anyway, I drank 96 oz of water yesterday, going back down to 1 dew Weds-Sunday since I'm working night shift the last half of the week and then going to try to do without, my blood sugars are doing great and I snuck on the scale this morning and am down 9 lbs since Sunday!!!! I know its water weight loss, but much better off than on!

    • Great Job Julia! I can relate with the sleep issues. I have a 19 month old.

      Keep up the good work!

      • Doing good here, too. I got through yesterday very clean! I worked out for an hour (I can hardly walk today) and will probably do just the treadmill tonight. I have bursitis in my left hip and exercise aggravates it (that's why I quit exercising the last few weeks) but I'll deal with the pain and keep going. Someday I'll find a doctor who can do more for me than say "Take Ibuprophen for pain".. it does NOTHING for the pain!!! :anger

THanks Sarah! I wish I could tell you things would be restful for you soon, and would have probably told you that based on my 2 boys, but darn it this girl of mine just does not sleep very much!!!! She'll be 3 in 1.5 mos and has never been a great sleeper-she's a cap napper, always has been. I've tried eliminating nap time even, but that doesn't seem to help either. She only takes a nap about 1/2 the time now, when she doesnt take one she's a pill for a couple hours at supper time, but when she does take even a short one she won't go to bed until after midnight and is usually up before 6. :yikes

            • Well guys I have some news...... :sadblinky

I am no longer going to be following the Atkins plan. I am going back to Weight watchers.

I was doing WW before but was making bad choice with my allowed calories. I was never hungry and had no problems with the program...except I would make bad choices....ice cream over a fruit sort of thing.

I have done Atkins a few times now, always successful and felt that I could do it again.....helping me to stay away from sugar and cra@p! I find it easier to not have any at all rather than a few bites that turn into too many bites!

However on Friday, when my two week induction was over I felt blaaaa. I was still struggling with my energy, it effected my menstral cycle and the food was not appealing to me anymore. YET...I stayed on it until today. I just can not take the meat anymore....I want fruit and yogurt! I am going to do the Core plann on WW.....very similar to SB without the induction period. I will not touch sugar and limit my white stuff. I am not giving myself a free day or any excuse to go wild...I went straight into the new plan....however it took till 10:30 to finally make a decision and eat breakfast!

I have lost 8 pounds and am very nervous of gaining any back but feel that I will give it two weeks again on the new plan and then evaluate how I feel. However I know myself and my lifestyle....I like Atkins for the quick weight loss but I know I can not maintain this for life....if I just show the same amount of control to WW I can do it too...I loose on it as well if I stay focused. It is never about hunger for me it is the mindless snacking for the sake of it!

Thanks everyone for the suppport and humour! I might just pop my head in from time to time to see if there should be any pictures in PJ's posted!!

              All the best,

We have to do what is best for us. I, myself, was always hungry on WW and didn't get much guidance. I wish you all the success!!

Please do come around and visit us. I love your humor and encouragement :nod You are still welcome here!

                • Good luck on WW Cynthia! I too believe that different people do better with different diets. I was also hungry all the time on WW. But the plan works if followed.

                  Best wishes!! :wave

                  • Checkers check-in. All is well. My diet is only getting higher in fiber so I'm eating like a little pig to get my net carbs. Good thing I like eating so much. :eating
Now that I'm on legumes I feel like I'm eaing such a huge variety of foods! For those that feel bored on the lower rungs, hang in there because you'll feel like you're in food heaven as you go on. I'm eating a much bigger variety of foods then when I was not doing low carb. Go Atkids!

                    • Thanks for the advice on the higher rungs Checkers! I cannot wait to get there. Not having fruit is starting to really bother me.

                      Great job staying on course!

                      • I know sara1341! Before berries I was miserable. The diet rites in fruity flavors really helped me. They really gave me the refreshing that I was dying for. I'm able to cut back on the pop now that I have berries in my diet. I say whatever is legal that helps you continue to the later rungs then do it. Diet drinks are not stallers for me and neither was sf jello. I know someone is going to post the horrors of diet drinks and sf jello, but I would have definitely quit without them.

                        • Checkers - I am the same way about diet coke and sf jello. Staples... and they don't stall me. I never confess about these, though. Because your right, it goes against what a lot of the others believe. But honestly, it was in the Atkins book from 2000 and I lost 56 lbs following that strategy.

                              • Yes. I'm following the plan as written.

My first time around I followed the plan very well for about 6 months until I quit smoking... then a few months after that I got lazy, quit counting carbs, cheated here and there as a 'treat" and stopped using Fitday. Eventually I just started living on M&Ms and junk food again.

Fitday is one of the best tools I have, along with DANDR. Both got shelved until this past January. Sadly, I gained back all my weight as well as a few extra pounds. In 10 more pounds I'll finally be where I left off before. It's been a hard lesson.
