garam masala is a spice - it's an indian spice mix. You can make it yourself, I think - just look for the recipe online. I just buy mine at wholefoods - I'm sure they have it at the regular grocery stores, and definitely at the fancier ones.

Yesterday I was cheat free but I had too many carbs (31) because I was eating hot dog weiners and forgot to check the package first. ARGHHH!!!

Today I am right on track. Brekky: 2 Scrambled eggs, 1 oz cheese, 1/2 LC turkey smokie, decaf, 1 oz heavy cream, 2 splenda. Lunch 2 cups mixed green salad, 3 tbls ranch dressings, 4 oz diced ham. Dinner 10 oz T-bone steak, 1 cup fried mushrooms.

next I go walk my dogs for 30 minutes.

Water is good but I still need to drink more.

I'm doing okay today. Feeling a little weaker, like close to breakdown and run to Qdoba. Major craving for some chips and salsa with a nice cheesy quesadilla. But this too shall pass.

Otherwise, I'm eating my breakfast muffins now, will have a grilled chicken salad for lunch and pork for dinner (probably with cauliflower, ended up having green beans yesterday).

Hope everyone has a great day!

              Re: STRICT Induction Thread

yesterday was a good day. I did a metric ton of exercise, ate super well, drank enough water to sink a ship, went to the bathroom 8 billion times and whattya know: half a pound gone this morning! yeeeehaw!

              yesterday's food:

              bacon quiche for breakfast
cheese brats and a spinach salad for lunch
roast beef for snack (homemade), two slices of swiss.
caesar salad with a chicken breast for dinner.

exercise: ran/walked 2.5 miles, 30 min situps/pushups, and lifted biceps and triceps.

                eek, sarah, cravings!

My advice for cravings is just to eat a LOT of food - don't worry about calories today. Just eat and eat all the legal food you can find. If you're full you won't be wanting those chips - least, that's how it works for me!

I also try to eat things that aren't ordinary to 'treat' myself - makes my brain think it's getting something special!

                  Re: STRICT Induction Thread

Happy Tuesday!!! I am here and cheatfree for 1.5 days now!! I feel so much better not eating all that processed food! For breakfast I had a side of eggs, bacon, and sauasage from Whataburger- I so don't have time to cook breakfast so I figured that would be better than the cereal with fruit the kids had. Just wanted to check in and say all is good but I haven't got my total water intake yet. Thanks for the support! Talk to yall in the a.m.

                      sara-

you should make the breakfast thing or a quiche, that way you can just have a piece of it in the mornings. The 'breakfast thing' involves a lot of eggs, some cream, veggies/meat and the oven. You make a giant omelette/quiche basically.

I make quiche every sunday and then i have breakfast all week!

Sara, you could also try making breakfast muffins. That is what I do: (I use eggs, sausage and cheese, but you could add anything in, even veggies). Basically, you buy the sausage and brown like hamburger. Grease muffin tins, add sausage (about half the muffin cup), add your choice of cheese on top of the sausage, mix raw eggs, pour into muffin cups into filled. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. They turn out great. I am not the biggest fan of breakfast, but I love these. I eat two in the morning for breakfast. I premake them on Sunday and store in the fridge for grab and go.

                            Re: STRICT Induction Thread

aha! I found the bacon quiche recipe! I like it because I"m not a HUGE fan of eggs day in day out, and this only uses 3 and makes 8 servings. Lots of cream and cheese though, so if those things stall you, beware! Well, 1 cup of cream across 8 days and 6 oz of cheese across 8 days doesn't really add up to a lot, but you know what I mean!

                            you need:

                            soft butter
                            3 eggs
                            1 cup cream
1 3 oz package of oscar meyer bacon pieces (little baggies, by the salad dressing)
1 package of grated swiss cheese

                            Preheat oven to 375

You'll need a pyrex dish, something like this:
                            http://www.cooking.com/products/shprodde.asp?SKU=178240

butter this about halfway up the sides, with a pretty thick layer of butter - cheese needs to stick to it.

grab a handful of the grated swiss and cover the bottom of the pan and halfway up the sides with it. It needs to stick to the butter. Not a complete layer, but enough to stick to the sides and make a good crust. As much as will stick, basically.

In another bowl: whisk together 3 eggs and 1 cup cream.
Pour bacon pieces into this, mix.
add about half of the remaining cheese (about 3/4 of a cup), mix well.

Pour into the baking dish and spread out evenly.

Put whatever cheese is left on top of the quiche mixture.

Bake at 375 for about 45-50 minutes until real brown on top. No lid. When the middle pops up, it's done. (the middle will be sunken in for a long time, then it pops up).

                            Eat.

Let it cool totally before you put the lid on the dish to refrigerate it. Otherwise it gets very humid in there and it kinda flattens.

You can substitute whatever you want for the bacon - ham, spinach, mushrooms, etc... just make sure that you get all excess water out of anything you put in it or else you'll have problems. Watery quiche. :/

for 1/8 of this recipe it is approximately:

                            305 calories
