    I'm back. I had a huge setback with losing my job and searching for a new one, but I am pleased to say that I have found a new one and will be starting on July 2.

    My cousin's wedding is on August 5th, and while the dress fits now, I would like to look phenomenal, so my goal is to be at 170 by then. Originally it was 165, but with the setback, I am trying to be reasonable. I freaked out the other day when the scale said 180, but the very next day (yesterday) I was at 176.8, so I felt a little better.

    Restaurants, especially non-diner-ish ones, are still a challenge. We went out to a sushi place last night, and I had the lettuce salad with ginger dressing, and ordered the hibachi chicken with veggies, no noodles. Of course, the thing still came with like 2 cups of fried rice, but I was smart enough to push everything I could to the side. Afterwards, I was sick as anything, but I don't know if it had anything to do with sugar or carbs, or that my stomach just couldn't take the new food.

    So, a question: Does anyone know what is typically in that ginger dressing at Japanese places? I didn't think until after that it could have sugar in it.

    I am working on my water intake, going to at least 2 L a day. That seems to be the number one thing to propel my weight loss.

      Well, I'm on day 13. Loss of appetite is my problem this week. But I will survive. Weigh day is Saturday, don't think I've had additional loss. Measurements too.

        Val, I do know giner dressing has honey in it, instead of sugar (most of the time), but don't know the carb count. Michelle

          A quick hello. Just back from dh's colonoscopy and everything was just fine. He remembers every little detail of the procedure which concerns me because if I have it done, I don't want to remember it! Afterward, they offered him juice, ginger ale, or water and he chose the water. Good boy! Made the Atkins choice even while groggy!

          Congrats to Sandy! Yea 25lbs!

          Today is my 3mo. Atkins anniversary and I'm up a pound, but my fingers are swollen. Could be all those sunflower seeds yesterday. Did I forget to tell you about those? Just as well! I can only officially say I've lost 27lbs and I was really hoping for 30. Oh well.

            sheepie, 27 pounds is a huge accomplishment!!!! don't attach unrealistic expectations and turn it into a failure, it is a tremendous thing to be proud of, and in only 3 months?! you go girl!!

            i am down another pound today, but i never change my ticker until the end of the week in case i gain back. i have gotten into someone's ? (sorry, can't remember exactly whose really good idea this was) routine of weighing every day and then averaging the week total, i like it.

            i am going to figure out how to attach pics today, so will even try to put some bathing suit ones on if possible!!!

              Good morning everyone! I’m late checking in and didn’t even make it yesterday. Oops. Work has been crazy.



              Congrats to those who are down and don’t sweat it to those who might be up! Have faith and keep on track. It will all work out in the end.



              This is day 10 for me. The scale has been looking really good. I know that my commitment to exercise and all the water I’m drinking has helped in that. And I also know that the weight lose is going to slow down soon. I’m OK with that. I didn’t think I would be this far this soon anyway.

                    hang in there! even if you don't see results, just keep going and don't worry about the weight. if you stick to the plan, and just focus on staying on plan every day, you are doing all you can do and the weight will fall off eventually.

                      Checking in this morning, It's day 18 for me. I decided to stay on extended Induction for a little while longer. Still not weighing untill on sundays. DH still hides the scale for me. Seems to help. Great job Sandy on the 25 lbs. loss. It's not a happy day for me. A freind of mine just passed away. Will be spending the day reflecting on him. Here's to a legal day for all of us.

                          Hello, everyone! Another busy morning running around! *phew* But the good news is that my Slim in 6 DVDs finally came in! Yay! I did the Start it Up DVD just a little bit ago. Felt great! My arms definitely need the work – couldn’t quite finish all the arm exercises, but made it through the whole DVD! Can’t wait to lose more inches!



                          The other good news is that the whooshie fairy visited me! It’s been a while. I had been bad the last week of school. No excuses, really, had just been so tied up with cleanup and report cards and meetings that I didn’t prepare the way I should. Fell off the wagon and gained three pounds. BUT – have now lost those three and another one! (Go cheri, it’s your birthday! ) It has helped that I’ve gotten back to drinking 100 ozs of water a day, too.

                          Sandy – Congratulations! Woohoo!!!! (I claim lower numbers, too!)

                          Karen, Michelle, Liz, and Buffy – hang in there! Fatigue and stress can always give us a hard time. I just went through it, too, at the end of the school year. Keep your chin up and know that it’s just temporary!

                          Scooter – Outstanding! I thought dropping the caffeine was the hardest part of induction. And I didn’t even think I was addicted! Who knew? Keep up the good work!

                          Kathy – Good luck with all that work! Just think how wonderful it will be when you’re done!

                            also, i have been away from the board for a few days, wondering what happened with the friend whose husband had been in the bad ATV accident...that was horrible. it sounded like he wasn't going to make it, and just wondering if by any chance he improved?
