I agree with lily1313...this thread was a great idea. I am on my 12th day of induction and down a pants size. It feels so good. Thanks for all of the support.

Sunny, I have said a prayer that the angels will be with you before, during, and after your surgery and that your sister will be suddenly blessed with impeccable driving skills.

ThinSoon, don't forget to check in with us on Monday.

Lily1313, I'm so happy to see you here. Please check in with us daily. It has so helped me to stay on track knowing I have to check in here. I say have to because I've made it a priority plus I just love talking to you all.

Hi dreamof145! Happy to see you here too. Your weight loss is truly thinspirational!! Great job!! I so want to be the success story you are. Please join us. Those of you who've already lost weight are such a great inspiration to me.

Whoohoo scaleskl!! Great job! I hope I can say the same in 2 weeks. That is awesome!!

Don't forget to check Sunny's website and Linda's website for awesome low carb recipes!!

I've downed 80 oz. of water and had 20 carbs exactly (love fitday.com). If I eat it, I post it immediately. This is day 4 and I'm down 4 pounds. I can already tell a difference in my pants (actually lost 5 pounds the week before starting Atkins so I've lost 9 pounds total. I think it was adding Acetyl L-Carnitine to my diet the week prior to starting Atkins because, BELIEVE ME, my weight had been steadily climbing for the last 3 months non-stop from 215 pounds to 240 pounds no matter what I did - low cal; low fat; almost starving; and diet pills). Or maybe it was the sheer excitement of knowing I was going to start Atkins and it caused some kind of magical weight loss. Who knows? I'm just grateful for the loss.

I hope everyone had a great day!!

Re: 14 Day Induction Accountability Thread

Greetings and salutations everyone! I hope everyone is having a truly blessed day!

Welcome MendoGirl, how is it going? Some things I made last Sunday for the week were Cheeseburger Quiche (www.genaw.com/lowcarb); baked chicken; porkchops; and tuna muffins (as you know) . These were for while I'm work so I could get up in the morning, pack my cooler, and leave. I was making breakfast and then bringing it to work. Too much trouble. So now, I cook breakfast and eat it before I come to work (one less thing to pack).

I bring four 16.9 fl. oz bottles of water to work to drink while I'm here. I drink water before I get here and after I get home.

Dreamof145, I love that saying: *A snowflake is among the most fragile things on earrth, however never underestimate them as when they stick together...they become a powerful force of nature.
That's really powerful. Thanks for sharing.

I'm about to peruse the sites now for next week menu. I had chicken and porkchops this week so that's off the list for next week (lest I get bored with the food). Anyone have any ideas? I can't cook fish. Although I like it, I cannot stand the way it smells to cook it (not even Tilapia - sp?). I will be making some more tuna muffins (because I love them) unless I can find a substitute for next week.

I'm not going to weigh again (yesterday last weigh-in) until Monday. Wish me luck with that (no, say a prayer!!). You all know about my addiction. LOL!!

Well, back to work and have an AWESOME day!!

So...today is day 13. I have been eating all leagal foods. I usually sneak in a few nuts etc on induction, but not this time. I feel so good. Can't wait to weigh in on Sunday. I want to weigh so bad, but am holding fast to my goal of only weighing myself once a week.

What my day usually looks like
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 3-4 pieces of bacon (center cut)
                Snack: Cheese and Italian Salami
Lunchouble cheese burger X the bun/side salad with vinegar/oil dressing
Dinner: Another small salad, chicken breast, califlower potatoes(SOOOO Yummy)
Snack: Cheese, or a small piece of meat, or some quiche,

I am on my way to curves to get a good 30 min workout......I'm sure you are all familiar with curves.

Good luck to everyone and thank you for all of the support. I can't believe the support we share with/for one another.

Purplecat--you were an adorable teeny bopper, but you look about eight years old! I remember the time I first got to 125 pounds (after two kids) and how very fat I felt! It was the first time my sister-in-law could give me clothes too big for her, instead of the other way 'round! I'd give anything to be 'that fat' again! Sigh...

Re: 14 Day Induction Accountability Thread

Hey all! It's day 5 and like scaleskl I want to weigh so bad!! The withdrawals are starting!!

Congrats scaleskl on no cheating. I'm too scared to cheat. I don't want to have to start over. This is why I was so devastated when I found out the Balsamic Dressing was a no-no. As of yesterday, it was ok (down 4 pounds). I so wish I could exercise. I truly miss it. I was a Turbo Jam addict before my 4 ankle sprains. Loved it!! I might look into pilates since I can't do cardio.

Sunny, (sigh ), I'm right there with you. Heck, even 195 looks good to me now (a weight I was devastated to be at a few years back because it was so close to 200). Little did I know. However, I do plan to reach my goal of 140 (no matter how long it takes). This is my WOL now. Just 16 more days and this should be a habit (21 days to form a habit). We can do it - because we're worth it!!

                    Today's menu:

                    Breakfast:
                    -Bacon
                    -Eggs

                    Mid-morning snack:
                    -Tuna Muffin
                    -Cheese snackable

                    Lunch:
                    -Chicken breast
                    -Salad
                    -Ranch dressing

                    Afternoon Snack:
                    -Cheese snackable
                    -1 oz. porkskins

                    Dinner:
                    -Bacon cheeseburger (sans bun; homemade)
                    -Salad
                    -Ranch dressing

                    Evening Snack:
                    -1 oz. porkskins

80 oz. of water down! Multivitamin taken along with Biotin, Omega 3-6-9 with flax oil, Acetyl L-Carnitine, Vitamin C (not taken all at one time; jostled throughout the day).

Well, my eyes are starting to cross from pure fatigue. I'll speak with everyone tomorrow. Good-night!

This is my 14th day on induction. I have a very busy day with family and friends. We are going to the city to see the Blue Angles and visit with family. I am armed with a "carry cooler" (cooler that can be carried as a purse) full of italian salami, deviled eggs and pork skins for snacks. Wish me luck.!

Great job scaleskl! Having food on hand is one way to avoid temptation. I know it helped me Thursday and Friday when they kept asking at work if anyone wanted the cookies and donuts they brought in (they try so hard to sabotage)! It hurts them so bad when I don't give in because they know I'm the one person in that unit that sticks to what I'm saying I'm going to stick to. They love to eat and they're all my size and I guess they feel I'm betraying them by not wanting to partake of their goodies anymore.

Good job. The best way is to PLAN ahead and always have something legal for yourself when others bring in goodies. I always say to myself: If it's going to be...it's up to me! That gives me the inner strength to say no to temptation.

Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop the picture... Do not build up obstacles in your imagination.

I just had to share. I had to get fast food this morning (not close to home). Hardees breakfast bowl is the BOMB!!!! It has 4 carbs (6 carbs minus 2 for the dietary fiber). It comes loaded with cheese, eggs, sausage, and bacon. Delish!! I couldn't even it all. It even says Low Carb breakfast bowl on the menu. Love it!!! I wasn't hungry for hours. Again, I was out and got a salad at the salad bar (Kroger's) but used my own ranch salad dressing along with the roast beef off an Arby's roast beef sandwich. I must admit I'm still satisfied (not hungry or wanting to snack).
