Re: 14 Day Induction Accountability Thread

Not sure how I missed this thread!

I started on Monday, October 1 also! Day 3 and feeling better. I did have the headache, nauseous feeling yesterday, but hung in there and even went and worked out - well worth it!

This time I'm looking at it also as a WOE not just a diet! YAHOO!!!

Re: 14 Day Induction Accountability Thread

Sillygirl so many years of low fat/low cal dieting kind of makes me scared (deep down) to eat the fat. I'm moving ahead though. I just will have to eat afraid until my fears dissipate.

Welcome ThinSoon. I too had a headache the last two nights. I just took some Melatonin and slept it off. I hope you're feeling better.

Sunny, did you eat your salmon muffins? How were they?

Ok, day 3 down with 3 lbs. (water weight?) gone. It's been so long since the scale moved in that direction that I just don't know what to do with myself.

        Breakfast:
        -Bacon
        -Eggs

        Mid-morning Snack:
        -Tuna Muffin
        -Block of cheese (snackable)

        Lunch:
        -Baked chicken breast
        -salad
        -ranch dressing

        Afternoon snack:
        -1oz. porkskins

        Dinner:
-Wendy's baconator burger (sans the ketchup and bun)
        -Wendy's side salad
        -ranch dressing

Today I was right at 20 carbs. Fitday is wonderful. Thanks you guys for mentioning it. I feel good.

Hope everyone had a carb-less day!

Yep Moxie02, we're definitely here to help each other. I love this board. Having support makes a world of difference in being able to stick with something (especially long-term). I don't think I would have been able to do this without having found this board before I started. Thank goodness for !

Re: 14 Day Induction Accountability Thread

The salmon muffins were to die for! I had two for dinner last night, cold, and two for breakfast this morning, warmed. I'm getting more salmon and tuna and making two batches and putting them in the freezer. Thanks, Purple!!!

I'm having surgery soon and my sis is coming down from Ohio to take care of me and she's an awful cook. I'm cooking lots of stuff ahead, freezing it in single servings, so it can just be pulled out and warmed at a minute's notice. I'm making my Bacon & Sausage Quiche and the delectable Hearty Breakfast Casserole. Both freeze really well.

You can find both recipes here http://z9.invisionfree.com/LowCarb_L...hp?showtopic=5 plus a lot more. It's my Website.

                      Sunny!

Re: 14 Day Induction Accountability Thread

Good afternoon everyone! I hope you are having an awesome day!!

Scaleskl, those muffins are truly awesome. Get ready to be addicted.

Deek Deek, everything is going great. I actually feel giddy today. I usually feel so lethargic (just falling asleep at my desk).

ThinSoon, how is it going? Have you weighed yet (the scale is an addiction for me)? I'm trying to break "free" from it. Maybe I need to walk a little faster to get away from it.

Sunny, I told you they were delish! Are you a tuna (salmon) muffin addict now? They are so quick and easy to make. I will also check out your website. Thanks so much!! Any recipes I can get is GREATLY appreciated. It is one of the major things that will help me stick to this WOE. I hope your surgery goes ok. Can your sister follow the recipes to cook for you or is it one of those situations where it doesn't matter if a recipe exists? I have several family members like that (I'm so scared to eat their food).

Well, I've had my bacon and eggs, tuna muffin, cheese block, salad, ranch dressing, and a pork chop. I also had 1/2 oz. of porkskins to ward off a hungry spell (it worked).

Well, must get back to work. Keep on keeping on everyone!!

Oh, yeah, I'm a salmon muffin addict! They are so good and much better and easier than the salmon patties I make with crushed pork rinds and parmesan cheese as a binder and fry in butter.

My sister can burn water. Of the 10 living children, three of which are girls, I am the only one to get my Mom's cooking genes. My middle sister came down and stayed with me last year when I was in the hospital for a month and had really serious surgery, and she tried hard to understand Atkins, but freaked when she saw the amount of fat I was to eat. She even went to the trouble to read most of the book. She would still take my grocery list and come back with all kinds of stuff I couldn't eat, that she thought was better for me. I ended up cooking for us both and didn't let her see what I put in stuff. She has never weighed more than 110 pounds in her life, and couldn't see how you could eat fat and lose. Neither of us liked fat before Atkins, and she still doesn't. She gagged frying my eggs in butter. Couldn't watch me eat them.

Last time, I was admitted to the hospital as an emergency and had no prior time to cook ahead. This time, I have about a 3-week notice, so I will be able to fill my freezer. I am trusting that she can warm stuff up without destroying it . She drives terrible, too, and I'm stuck with riding with her for the two weeks I'm not allowed to drive! Pray for me!

                          Sunny!

Reporting your feelings, thoughts, losses and ideas is a great way to keep motivated so you can not only get the most out of the support being bounced around, but so you can spread encouragement to those who are doing it with you.
