Re: 14 Day Induction Accountability Thread

Tracey, repeat after me "CANDY is EVIL". I'm glad you've brought food with you to keep you from eating something off plan. I have a desk job...which sometimes (ok, let's keep it real, all the time) used to mean...EAT, EAT, EAT. Now I am not hungry so it's easier to avoid those donuts, candy bars, etc.. Plus, I want to look decent in shorts next summer. LOL!!

Welcome, Intuitivebap! I'm glad that you have joined us. This is a great group of supportive people. Please post with us daily and let us know your progress.

Ok, I'm going to get off of here and try some pilates. I will fill you in shortly on how it was.

Re: 14 Day Induction Accountability Thread

Hello to all of you! I thought that I would introduce myself because I'll be joining you. I've been doing Atkins now for going on four years now. I lost my first 100 lbs. in ten months.CHEAT FREE! I lost a total of 155 lbs. But have gained back 41.5 lbs. It was a gradual gain but realize if I don't get a hold of it now I'll be in trouble. So I'm going back to induction and detoxing these next couple of weeks along with you all. I look forward to meeting you and getting healthier with you too. Today I've stayed on track. I'll be going back to fitday and restarting my stats again tomorrow. See Ya!

Re: 14 Day Induction Accountability Thread

Hey Sherri! Happy to have you join us. Wow 100 lbs. in 10 months!! That is so awesome!! I want to lose 80 lbs. by June. I don't know if that's realistic but a girl can dream.

Ok, so I didn't do the Pilates. Instead I did a 30 minute low impact cardio workout (wanted to workout so bad) but I improvised. I just pray I don't pay for it later. I also did Shaun T's (Hip Hop Abs) Last Minute Abs. I want to be able to exercise (like a normal person) sooo bad that I could scream!!!! Ok, enough complaining!!

        Today's totals:

        Breakfast:
        -Bacon
        -Eggs

        Mid-morning Snack:
        -1 serving pepperoni
        -1 cheese snackable

        Lunch:
        -Porkchop
        -Salad
        -1 tbsp. ranch dressing

        Afternoon Snack:
        -Tuna Muffin
        -1 cheese snackable

        Dinner:
        -Broccoli
        -Salad
        -1 tbsp. ranch dressing
        -cheeseburger (sans the bun)

Water: 96 ounces (yay, I'm getting closer to 100 oz.)

I don't think I was eating enough vegetables. I say my salad at lunch is one cup and then I'd eat one cup of broccoli at dinner. So, tonight I added another cup of salad with my dinner. With practice, I'll get this right!!

How is everyone doing? Menus going ok? Anyone got any new recipes, tips, etc.?

Re: 14 Day Induction Accountability Thread

Ok...so I was going to keep this to myself, but I might as well woman up. I was very tempted and I cheated. It was a decision that I must take accountability for. I teach high school students with an ED diagnosis (emotionally disturbed). Very stressful at times. Anyway, we had a party today and I cheated. I got a horrible message on the phone and was feeling icky. The cake was so nice and kind to me at that moment. It felt so good going down and now I regret it.
Oh well, there is always tomorrow.
I know I can do this based on past success. I will mount this bull tomorrow with a good grip on the reigns.

Welcome Intutive and Sherri!! We look forward to hearing from you, yes, in good times and bad!

Scaleski - at least you know what you did, now begin again. The one thing that helps is remembering how you will feel after that 5 minutes of "glory". I know thats hard, I've been there many times myself. Can you keep things in your drawer at work for times like that?

Purplecat - great menu! I forgot about pork chops, thanks! LOL

Belyama - you can do it!! Come back and let us know how it's going today!!

              Hi to everyone I missed!!

I resisted the candy yesterday, I thought about the consequences and said, forget it. More water and then I got busy again and forgot all about it!
              Here is yesterdays menu:
              B-1.5 turkey burgers w/horseradish mustard
              L- egg salad
S- two turkey hot dogs with mustard
              D- spanish omelette
              S-pumpkin w/whipped creme

I had about 90 ounces of water. So will keep that up because it sure does seem to help!

Today is another day ladies - we can do it!!!

Thanks for the welcome Thinsoon(love the name)! I have yet to eat breakfast, because Im just not hungry yet. I weighed in today after a week and lost only 4lbs. Im slightly disappointed but I know its as a result of me not exercising until yesterday and being unclear on what I can and cannot eat. No worries though, I am very determined to drop the weight!!!

And I forgot to add that I do Turbo Jam,depending on the time and type of workout that Im looking for I will do the Cardio Party or the Turbo Sculpt. I love it becase its sooo much fun that It doesnt even feel like your exercising!

Re: 14 Day Induction Accountability Thread

4 lbs is great for your first week! Don't get discouraged, 4 lbs, when was the last time you lost 4 lbs in a week on any other way of eating AND enjoyed it!

It is sometimes common for people not to exercise the first week, so you are ok. Baby steps, you are doing great!!

                  Tracey

OHHH I just noticed that I didn't get hardly any veggies in yesterday!!! I had onion, green pepper and celery in my egg salad but I doubt that counts! LOL Today have lettuce with the egg salad and will probably get to eating my fried cabbage.

Hey can i join in with you guys!!! Today is my first day of induction after numerous starts and re-starts. I hope and pray that this will be my last re-start. I reeally need to lose this weight for my health and well being. I am trully an emotional eater...shoot i eat when happy, sad and just because, but i gotta get a grip and do something about it bc i'm just getting bigger and bigger.

Unfortunately, last night i decided to start so i'm not very well prepared in regards to meals.

                      B: chicken wings
                      L: chicken salad
                      S: dunno?
                      D: turkey w/ veggies

PurplecatHow did u like the tuna muffins? I was thinking of making them since i dont like eggs, maybe i can eat that for breakfast.

                      • Re: 14 Day Induction Accountability Thread

Scaleskl, first things first....don't beat yourself up about cheating. The best thing you did was to admit to it and move back to Atkins; worst thing would have been to hide it and keep eating cake. You're doing great! We are only human and no one is perfect (if they say are then they're hiding something).

Intuitivebap, I used to love sweets. I say used to because that craving has gone away (thank God). I was also a night-time binger. I could eat bowl after bowl of cereal (it was like an addiction). I started taking L-Glutamine. I read somewhere that helps with sugar cravings. I don't know if that's what is helping or the diet itself but can't hurt. You might want to look into getting some just to help out until your cravings dissipate.
I used to do TJ until 4 ankle injuries put a stop to that. Don't you just love it? I so MISS it!!! I wish a divine miracle would happen and I could exercise again.

ThinSoon, I also realized last night I wasn't eating enough vegetables. I added a salad to my evening meal. I was only getting one cup of salad and one cup of broccoli per day. I think with induction you're supposed to have 2 cups of salad (veggies on that list) and one cup of the other veggies (like the broccoli). One thing I want to try is the cauliflower mashed-potatoes. People tell me they are delish. I might try that this weekend.

Sherri, what have you planned to eat? Do you do your cooking ahead of time or as you go? Any great recipes for us? I know, 10 million questions.

Welcome lesszmore!! I'm so happy to have you join us. This WILL be your last re-start. We'll be here to support you every step of the way. Do you know what roadblocks have stopped you before? Make a list of those and try to avoid them. For example, my friends might call me anti-social at work because I don't eat lunch with them. I figure, why be tempted by their desserts. My health is way too important to let them deter me from my goal. BTW, the tuna muffins are DELISH!! I LOVE them, thus I only bring one to work each day less I eat them all. You simply must try them.

I just feel soooo much better on this WOL. I only wish I had started sooner but I wasn't in the right mind-set. I would have failed because I would have looked at this as some short-term plan to get to my weight. Now, I know that I do have to do for life to stay healthy. My goal is just to make it one hour at a time. I look forward to moving up each rung of the Atkins ladder. I don't want to stop before I can see what I can accomplish. I don't want any "what if's" to be stuck in my head. I want to be one those thinspiration success stories. I, especially, want to be healthy enough to be around to enjoy my daughter and be able to participate in activities with her (while she's not embarrassed to be seen with Mom - she's 6).

We CAN do this everyone!! Yes, alone, would be hard but we have each other. I promise to do all I can to support each and every one of you. Like L'Oreal says, "we're worth it".

I must return to work!! Have a carb-less day!!

So far i'm doing good! i had a delish chicken salad from lunch, i'm a lil worried about dinner bc i have to go to my in-laws to pic up the kids and my mil bbq'd..which means mac n' cheeese, potatoe salad etc as leftovers. I can be strong!! none for me!!

My lil one starts boy scouts tonite... ohh they get big so quick. So i'm gonna have to hussle and bussle this evening. I really wanna try to exercise tonite, and pack my lunch and snacks for tomorrow.

Catreina- Thanks for the warm welcome! We definetly can be here to help each other on this new lifestyle!! I agree trying to make this be a quick fix is why i've had to re-re-restart, but i know it works and that i have to stick with it or the weigh creeps right back on. I gotta learn what my triggers are and do have that determination to reach my goal. ..hmmm i'm gonna have to research L-guatermine ..bc i have a really bad sweet tooth.
