Good Morning and Welcome to all New!

Have headache this am and feeling nauseous, strange because I ate more veggies yesterday. Going to have some with breakfast, hopefully that will help. does anyone else get that funny feeling in their face or nauseous when in ketosis? I was back down the .5 today to 144.5, so it was from the sausage etc processed foods. I was back on track yesterday and have my foods for today.

                  Yesterdays menu
B- turkey burger with fried cabbage
L - turkey burger and two turkey hot dogs ( I know...)
                  S- SF jello
                  D-chicken with fried cabbage
S - pumpkin w/pumpkin pie spice and a little whipped cream YUMMY

Sound repetitious but I usually cook things up and have those for a few days and then on to something else. I've got egg salad and chicken today with lettuce and fried cabbage (last of it).

Will be back to do personals later!

                  Happy Thursday!!

Hey everyone. Just started induction Monday - experiencing good moderate ketosis starting yesterday morning. My menu hasn't been real varied.... but it hasn't started bothering me yet. Pretty much 2-3 eggs with a bit of cheese and/or ground beef mixed in for breakfast; broccoli, cali, pepper and lots of meat stir fry for lunch (cooked in olive oil of course); and a small salad with olive oil italian dressing along with some lean meat (fish, chicken) for dinner. Snacks have been deviled eggs (just eggs and mayo with a little bit of dill on top) and white cheddar cheese. By my count, I'm averaging about 19-21 carbs / day. I've been doing about 85 - 95 oz of water each day too.

I'm working out pretty hard too each day so I'm sure that helping. In any case, sounds like everyone is doing great. Personally, I found the purple ketostyx to be a very motivating reason to stick with induction. Not sure how long I'll stay with induction - if the weight keeps coming off and I continue to feel as good as I do now - I might extend it out awhile. Good luck everyone - stay strong!

Good Morning Everyone! Lesszmore- With some folks it takes "seeing is believing" My type-2 diabetes stabalized after 48 days on this woe and I no longer required medication and has since then been contoled by this woe. This is a perfect woe for diabetics. Also I use the GI (glycemic index) to choose foods on the lower GL (glycemic load). The weight just melts off. Go to www.glycemicindex.com to learn more. Today is day 3 of re-induction. Feeling well so far. If the "flu" is going to hit, it will hit tomorrow for me. Always the fourth day. Wishing all of you a great Atkins day!

Welcome all newbies! I can't type much now. I'm at work (and not on break). However, I've been to the doc this morning. Got new labs drawn. The great news: FINALLY a doctor that listens and I'm now on synthroid for this hypothyroidism (something I've been trying to get treated for 3 years). Maybe now, I can actually start feeling "normal" again.

I promise to write more later!! You're all doing great!

Hey gang!! LOVE the energy here....everyone posts up , its great. Today is my day 5 on induction and let me tell ya....my energy hit me around 1pm!!! I needed it too.....my home was beginning to look like a pig pin!! LOL!

As on this morning I was 9 pounds down I started exercising last night. I went 20 minutes on the elliptical....got on it thinking I was going to only be able to do 2 min. because I was dragging so bad. Today I did 15 minutes, planning on 10 more tonight watching Survivor & Grey's.

I NEED some veggies today!! I had some heart of palm as a snack earlier....maybe I'll go get 2 or 3 radishes Dinner tonight is steak with a salad and deviled eggs for a snack if we need it.

Scaleskl, congrats on being able to fit in those pants! Isn't it a great feeling to have something loosen up versus tighten and cut off your circulation. I'm happy that my lines are disappearing (those lines on your skin when you remove your jeans that have been cutting off your circulation all day). I refuse to go up another size. Like you, I was down to a few pair and was having to wash clothes twice a week. Thank goodness I can now wear some of those jeans that had been folded up in a pile.

Sherri, your menu looks awesome! 120 oz. of water!! I'd might as well move my pillow into the bathroom because I'd be in there all night. Congrats on losing all those pant sizes (in one year). That gives me hope that I can least be in a size 12 by June (size 18 now). I'm so happy that you were able to get your DM II under control. That can cause so many problems in the long run due to end organ damage. That's a major accomplishment. What is this flu? Is it the fatigue/headache thing? If so, I have been there the last 2 days. My migraine finally let up after two full days of torture!! I refused to take pain meds (took Melatonin last night and slept through it).

Intuitivebap, your menu looks awesome. I think the heavy whipping cream is ok. It's listed as one of the foods we're allowed on induction. However, I'm not an expert so hopefully someone will jump in and let you know if it's ok. Are you feeling sluggish due to detoxing your body of those negative foods? What kind of workout do you do?

Welcome djluvsan!! We're happy to have you with us. Please feel free to share and jump in anytime with anything you want to share with us.

Hey dreamof145, where ya at? We're always happy to have you drop by and spread words of wisdom. It's good to talk to someone who has done this long-term and gotten fantastic results.

Lilly1313, I've lost 11.5 pounds and I'm so psyched. I didn't think I could lose anything with this untreated thyroid condition. Have you tried the cheeseburger quiche on Linda's website (www.genaw.com/lowcarb)? It's also delish!! I also do not like to cook. I cook on Sunday for the week. It sometimes gets repititious (same foods for the week) but it helps me to have it already prepared (I'm so tried when I get home).

Tasha, you and scaleskl keep talking about the faux potatoes. Are these the ones on Linda's site or do you have a recipe you can share? I so miss potatoes!!!! I didn't get to do the Pilates for the stupid migraine that I thought would go away - NOT!! I'm enjoying a pain-free moment right now (almost scared to say that out loud).

Tracey, I'm sorry for your headache and I can sympathize. I have been headachey for the last 2 days and it finally let up tonight. BTW, what is this pumpkin dessert you are talking about? I want to know. Sounds delish!!

WNY PAT, welcome!! Glad to have you with us. How are you enjoying Atkins thus far? It looks like you're doing great with your menu and water intake! Keep up the great work.

JeNN in 2008, we're happy to have you with us as well. Congrats on your 9 lb. weight loss!! That's awesome!!

Today's stats: 100 oz. of water!

                            Breakfast:
                            -Eggs
                            -Bacon

                            Mid-morning Snack:
                            None (was at the docs)

                            Lunch:
-2 Wendy Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger sandwiches (sans the bun)
-Wendy's Side Salad (sans the carrots)
                            -Ranch Dressing

                            Afternoon Snack:
                            -Pepperoni
                            -Cheese

                            Dinner:
                            -Broccoli
                            -Porkchop

                            Evening Snack:
                            -Pork skins

I received my book today (Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 version). I got it on ebayexpress for a really decent price. It's brand new (hardback). I also ordered Atkins for Life. This will NOT be a short-term way of living for me.

I start my Synthroid tomorrow. The doctor said I should start losing weight on it (fingers crossed). I also had x-rays and will be going for a MRI next Thursday (they want to rule out a slipped disc due to my low back pain) as the reason why my foot is aching the way it is. Send up a prayer for me. If it's the slipped disc they will do traction in physical therapy and I am praying I can be back to exercising shortly.

Well, I'm going to get off of here for now!! If I missed anyone, I apologize. Hope everyone had an awesome day!!

Good Evening Everyone! I managed to stay on track today. Breakfast: 4 slices bacon, 2 fried eggs. LUNCH: taco salad w/ lettuce chili seasoned lean ground beef,1 jalepeno, 2 black olives,2 tbls, salsa, 2 tbls sour cream. DINNER: Baked chicken breast, steamed fresh string beans, green salad w/ ranch. LOTS and LOTS of water. One mile walk, 20 squats. I did well not getting on the scale. I'll weigh monday instead of tuesday because the christmas challenge begins then. I can always tell I'm losing though because I can wrap my fingers all the way around my wrist now. There was a little gap before I started induction this time. The clothes are feeling better too. I didn't get around to measuring today so I'll work on that tomorrow and post it in my stats. You are all welcome to visit my journal stat for my todays fitday count. Wishing all of you a good evening. Gotta watch my survivor tonight too Jenn-in-2008. Thinsoon- Isn't it great we're allowed pumpkin in induction for this time of year or any as far as that goes. YUMMY is right. Wishing you all well. Thanks Purplecat for this great thread!

There you are Purplecat! Yes the flu thing ,which I had never heard the term untill I came to Atkins board, is actual detox. I was reading about detoxing sugar one time and they compared it to a heroin detox. Only not quite as intense. The headache, nausia, cramping, sweats, chills, scoots, all on the same list as one another. Just goes to show you how toxic sugar and other processed food is for you. When your body actually goes through withdrawl. "There's a problem HOUSTON" The headache for me is the worst too. It get so bad that I cuss at it outloud. If it's going to hit me it will be tomorrow, always the fourth day on the headache. Today was stomach cramping and the scoots. Tonight will be night sweats. Yippi!
