Working..... I can not access this bulletin board from work. For some strange reason they have it blocked. So I have to wait until I get home to access the board.

How is everybody doing? I am having a pretty good day. Right now I feel kind of weak and about to cook dinner. I think I will have steak and veggies. I hardly ever eat steak. I may have steak twice a year if that.

    I will check back later.

If it's really true that raw garlic kills the yeastie beasties, then this new batch of black olive tapenade should have them writing their wills, picking out a headstone and preparing to die! Better back up from the screen! Serious garlic breath from here! I'm glad that I don't go to church today or even go near humans.

        Hello Derby Sisters!

Gosh, it's been a while since I was last here, Sorry about that. My home schedule has changed. The weather has turned nice and I find myself outside in it. Flower beds are needing much attention. I'm getting ready to start garden and flower plants for the growing season. I'm so looking forward to getting outside and work in my yard.
I also put together a walking group that will meet twice a week. I also started back working out on my Gazelle every day. There's a mountain I want to climb this fall called Mt. Thielson. I think the elevation is around 8,000 ft. It's something I want to do with my brother. We use to climb when we were younger. I want to do it again. I can do it again!
The scale is moving! I tweeked my woe. I cut out all sweetners and because of that, I have no cravings what so ever. I don't eat after 5 p.m. and I really cut back on cheese, butter and cream. I am moving to OWL Rung 4 Berries on the 1st of March. I've been losing a half a pound each day this week. I'm really excited and feel in control once more. I have found my Atkins Flow Once Again!
I have also been directing more focus on my DD Sierra. I couldn't be a more proud Mother at this point. She has shown me such will and determination that I can build strength on. Praise God! She also has began working out with me on the gazelle. She gets on it after dinner before shower and puts a mile in. She's following her WOE to the T and has lost over 10 pounds. Her pants are fitting looser and her self esteem has sky rocketed. Tomorrow I'm suprising her with a salon treatment and getting her hair cut, and weaved with to colors. She asked me what we were going to do. I just told her we'll just get up and head out the door and enjoy the day. We'll also go walk at the Holy Waters below the Dam above the fish hatchery at Lost Creek Lake. It's one of our favorite places to walk together. It's all good in Sherri Land these days. I have no complaints. God is good!
I will come back later and try to get caught up with all of you. I've missed you all very much. Love to my sisters. xo
        Sincerely, Sherri

The trail leads through lodgepole pine for the first mile. Timberline is at approximately 7,200 feet elevation. The mountain hemlock-true fir type is predominant. Inviting glimpses of Mount Thielsen are evident as one progresses. A breath taking view of Mount Thielsen presents itself just beyond the Spruce Ridge Trail junction 1.6 miles. As you reach the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail 2.9 miles, the glacial features of this volcanic peak loom before you. From the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail, a scramble trail works its way to the spire pointed peak at 9,182 feet elevation. The trail is a steep climb, particularly above timberline beyond which there are no markers. The last 200 feet is a difficult hand-over-hand climb. Elevation gain is 3,782 feet. Hiking boots and caution are highly recommended for climbing on the loose rocky slopes. Those brave and energetic enough to make it to the top, should add their names to the climbing register found there. The view of the east and west sides of the Cascades, from the Sisters to Mount Shasta, is incredible. This trail is used in the winter time by Nordic skiers up to the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail.

Wow! You will have to be really fit to climb that Baby! Is there any oxygen at the top??? (9,182 feet)

I am so proud a Sierra! I know her self-esteem must be through the roof and you are about to bust!

          Sunny!

Ok, I'm back. I did Leslie Sansone High Calorie Burn with weights (30 minutes).

Congrats Lashon on your review at work!

Sunny, you can yell now. No more tiptoe/whispering.

Congrats Sherri on finding what is working best for you. That is also awesome news about your daughter. Give her a congrats hug for me.

Hi Kass!! You are so right....EXHAUSTING is the word. It's after 9:00 here and I'm no where near finished doing what I need to do.

Catherine, yep the neighbor didn't care. He's an evil man. He is having major health issues now. I am glad I didn't come out twisted either (had a very rough childhood). It just makes me determined to have a great life for my baby girl.

Ok, it's official. The hunt is on for the rest of the Derby Girls.

I'm here & soon heading to bed. Had a great day at work...never saw the evil boss lady!

Went out this evening to a gathering for a friend. He is a pediatric nurse practitioner that I use to work with. He is taking a leave of abscence to go hike the Appalachian Trail. He will start on Springer Mt. in Georgia & hike 2160 miles to Mt. Katahdin in Maine. A trip of a lifetime!!! It was wonderful to see him. He is a very special guy who is blessed with a true love for children. It gives me great joy to see him exam a newborn baby, chat with a 5 yr old or counsel a teenager. A wonderful man who gives the greatest hugs!

Well 0530 comes early so off to bed I go. Good night ladies!

I think some of the Derby Girls snuck off while I was down for my surgery, thinking I couldn't come hunt them down! They better think again!

Way to go on the Leslie Sansone! Not too long until I can Walk Away the Pounds again! I can't wait!

Yes, that's it Sunny! Isn't she a bute! My brother and his family have climbed this baby. They didn't get all the way up to sign the register. That loose shell they speak of is really a pain in the rump. for every 3 steps you take, you go back two . I definately won't take the last 200 feet hand over hand climb. It really gets narrow at the top. I'm just gonna kick back and enjoy the view, no matter how high I go. In the fall there isn't this kind of snow on it. There's a glacier on top but doesn't prevent you to climb. It's on the east side.We climb the west side. The base of the trail is back behind the mountain on the west side, by that lake called Diamond Lake there in the pic. This view is on the east side on the other side of the cascades. I'm on the west side of the cascades. The other side doesn't look quite as rugged as this shot, there in the picture. I also wanted to mention that the trail at the base of the mountain is just above the 5,000 feet level. I'll just be climbing a few thousand feet.
I'm going to go as high up as I can, just to say I did.
Yes, Sierra is growing up on me so quickly. Such a beautiful young lady. Very respectful and kind. With a great sense of humor. I'm so excited for her tomorrow.

I am not going to let this get to me. I will handle it without sabotaging my dedication and hard work during these 33 days. Has this happened to anyone else when adding the extra carbs?

I've had this happen nearly every time I introduce another food--especially nuts and dairy. I think it's a way for your body to decide what to do with the new food. Also, up a pound can happen for no reason at all. Maybe don't weigh for a few days. I'd keep eating it for the two weeks to make sure what is going on.

I finally tried ricotta, but hate the texture, so I don't have to worry about trying it again.
