Re: Anyone going back to Induction 12/26???

OK 3+ year member (and goalie) here joining the STAC for the first time !

In maintenance i usually allow myself a treat during Christmas and get right back on plan..not this time

*hiding emptry Russell Stover box box behind her back*

I've decided not to wait till Jan 2nd, though i will have alcohol over the New years weekend, but food wise getting back on track right away. today at 25 net carbs and i actually think i feel better already, which is amazing considering a handful of chocolates, a bowl of chips and a big hunk of fudge weren't even 24 hours ago LOL !

like a few people mentioned here, i really felt bloated and puffy, especially under my eyes, and my hands. I couldn't get my wedding band off right now if you paid me too!

good thing is. i'm in charge of the food for the New Years party i'll be attending, so i'll be sure there's more than enough legal foods for me

Re: Anyone going back to Induction 12/26???

Hey gang- I just wanted to report that I had a pretty good day- slight headache. I have drank all my water & I made 2 recipes from Lindas Low Carb. I still have some smoked turkey left (I will try to use it up ASAP).

Bambina- Cocktails have been my downfall. I do fine untill I have a couple of cocktails (sugar free) and then I decide I can eat some thing I shouldn't..... I am planning on not drinking any alcohol for 2 weeks and then I might allow myself a gin and sugar free gingerale or two.

Welcome to the newbs... STAC is a great place to hang around.

OH Yeah- I weighed in at 202 today

Re: Anyone going back to Induction 12/26???

Hi guys! I had another really good day! I'm so thrilled and it feels so good to be back in control foodwise!!! I still have had a major stupid headach but I don't think it's related to my food... I think it's the TMJ and possibly a need for new glasses???!

Anyways, my dear friend made 'make your own salad' with all kinds of veggies, olives, cheese, eggs, turkey, ham, etc... so it was all legal and soooo incredibly delicious! That was just incredibly nice of her! Also she served cookies but I don't think ANYONE ate any. I am just so happy I was able to stay on a clean induction today! I think I am noticing the swelling going down in my face and hands too! I love this woe! It's seriously the best!!!!!
I just wanted to share this. I'm really really happy right now that I didn't cheat or succomb to any false guilt and eat something I shouldn't... there was wine, hot apple cider, etc... and I was able to dodge every bullet! Yeah!!!
Tomorrow I'm making a yummy casserole or two... I'm working the next 3 days, so I've got to go prepared...

Re: Anyone going back to Induction 12/26???

Day two completed and it was ok ............. I was totally exhausted and had a bad headache not sure if it was tiredness or induction flu but regardless it hung on all day. I just kept drinking water and waiting to go to bed! I had a few mental battles with the kisses and m&m's sitting on the table but didn't give in which was hard but today I feel good about ............

Today is prepare my food day for the weekend I work this weekend which when prepared goes well for me ususally. I am cooking chicken breasts, hamburgers and sausages as well as packaging my steamer bags with veggies and cutting salad stuff up. Once through the weekend successfully I imagine I will feel stronger as far as staying on track successfully goes.

When reading the posts that mention what we're eating I noticed a lack of veggies on a few ........... don't forget to get the right amount of veggies everyone! It was my hardest thing to overcome when I learned this WOE I just couldn't wrap myself around the whole amount of veggie's thing. Now I try to add sometype of veggie at each meal. Breakfast is usually broccoli or mushrooms onions or peppers in omelets, lunch is almost always my salad greens and dinner is steamed veggies of some sort.

Have a great successful day today!!!!!!!

You know it's so encouraging reading all these posts.
So today is day two for me. I'm going to work and turning my head to all those goodies. Actually I'm really sick of the sugar. I felt horrible..
Gotta get me some more veggies in my day.
Carrot cake is still on the kitchen counter. Will give it away.
This morning no Starbucks...I'm making my own coffee.
I'll just put cocoa and stevia with a little cream in it.
Doesn't it take about 3 days to get back in ketosis?
I don't remember. My stomach is rolling tho so I have to eat.

Re: Anyone going back to Induction 12/26???

Sounds like everyone is doing so well!

Jen, glad to have you here! STAC is one of the most supportive forums on the board (IMO) outside of the journal chats. Fudge was where I fell too...and I don't even like fudge! Ahhh well.

Today is my stepdaughter's wedding. I have no idea what is on the menu to eat, so I'll make sure to eat something before we go. I've got my 1.5 liter water bottle here that I'm working on drinking and I'm going to go in and make me a nice omelette for breakfast. Yesterday, I went over on veggies by about a cup, yet still under 20 grams...but I'm not going to sweat that too much. I am not eating the 'convenience' foods like olives, cream, sour cream, sweetner and cheese so the only carbs I get are from eggs, veggies and coffee(which I still haven't given up). The scale down to 182.2 this morning. YAY.

                validrouge congrats on the wedding!

i am preparing for a very successful day 3!! this is the day where it usually all comes together for me...a big surge of energy, appetite suppression, and clothes fitting better. by tomorrow morning i MIGHT even be tempted to get on the scale, although i told myself i would wait until new year's day.

i made the best hot crab dip yesterday! i posted it on the food and cooking forum, but it was delicious and there is TONS leftover. hit the spot!!!

                have a great day 3!!

Day two for me. Yesterday went well. Right now I'm at work sitting at my desk where I'd normally be snacking on either sunflower seeds or peanuts. Instead I have a couple hard boiled eggs. I miss that salty crunch already but it's not too bad. I do believe I will be just fine.

I'm happy to report that after 2 full days on Induction, I managed to get rid of 4 pounds of water. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO....... Still on TOM till Saturday but so far so good. Today, DH is taking the day off and we're eating out at the Macaroni Grill. We both agreed we're not having pasta. We're not even going to look at the menu, we're having chicken and salad.

Congrats to all of you too!!

still on track here too! already feeling better. I'm a bit behind in the water today (haven't had any actually) but i'm going shopping at lunch so didn't wanna get too waterlogged before then.

the weekend will be a challenge for me, we're heading to the cottage for the weekend/new years. there is so much snow up there it's very unlikely i'll be able to bbq (it'll be buried), i've picked up a roast for one night...trying to think up ideas for the others...bearing in mind we have no running water so i try to make foods that don't require cooking in pots or create dishes and i have to cook for 6. this is the time when frozen lasagna's and convenience foods are handy

i'm sure i'll come up with something...though if anyone has ideas i'd appreciate it

Elsy, I'd recommend taking a look at the steak and Arugala salad. It's my favorite and they list it at 9 carbs (so not sure what the net carbs would be).

Just checking in to say I'm down 4.2lbs total since starting induction!!!! That's crazy exciting for me. Scale read 178.1 this am. Beginning wt was 182.3... so quite happy with that.

                                Day three starts.
