    Re: STAC Inductioneers!

Hey everybody, way to go on induction, keep focused and moving forward and you will all be well into ketosis and melting fat. I would encourage you to do things that build a way of living, a lifestyle that can be sustained. That's the big picture!

            Re: STAC Inductioneers!

            Hi,

            Thanks for the water tips.

Hi Kelly - yeah! Day 4. I can't believe it either. My stick was purple today. The hardest part is over for me. Once I'm 'in' I'm ok.

Interesting comment by Outback Jess. You look great by the way; love the guitar! I find it most encouraging about the length of time that you have maintained. That's the hard part I'm sure. I think for me, I'm slowing understanding that exercise just has to be a part of my life. I like my gym, I like the private showers there, I'm trying not to be too freaked out by all the germs on the machines - my trainer said he won't work out with me if I wear gloves... I'm a germaphobe (really). I love the trainer. This was a HUGE splurge for me - a real shift in priorities. With 4 children how can I 'waste' such money on such an indulgence? I just realized that I really need to get my health under control and spend the money on that. I've financially committed until June. After that I will be on my own in the gym. But I think by then I will have a grasp of weight training, form and theory and be able to maintain. Well, that's the plan. And I must say that along the way I've felt like giving up - but no way will I waste that money. The expenditure really made me commit.

And I love the outdoors so once Spring comes I want to move at least some of the exercise outdoors AND start thinking about what I can do with the children outside that would be fun, family and fitwise. We have 2 older children (9,10) and 2 younger (2,3) so I need to think of something we can all do. Or maybe we could split up and do different activities.

So, I think the permanent lifestyle change for me would really be exercise. And I need to go up the rungs this time. I love yoghurt and fruit and nuts. I can live without the rice and bread and cakes/sweets for most of the time but I miss the variety so I think the FULL Atkins plan will be really great. I won't stay with induction until I just get so sick of things I can't take it anymore. I need the variety of the rungs.

              Re: STAC Inductioneers!

I'm ready for day five. I don't know how y'all are weighing but I won't weigh until March 9. That's why I didn't join the challenge. I want to wait until I do a full two week clean induction.

I can't believe I've had no Diet Coke this week. How cool is that? I don't think it stalls me because I've always been able to lose and drink it at the same time. But who cares? It's gone? Now, maybe it'll be a treat instead of a necessity.

I have got to start preparing myself mentally for OWL. I think the reason I haven't done it in the past properly (or pretty much at all) was that I wasn't prepared. I've been venturing over to the Owl forum here and I'm going to reread my book when I get the chance.

Day Five. Are y'all feelin it?

I can't believe how good I'm sleeping! Since I've given up the Diet Coke, I don't need to take a sleep aid to go to sleep. The bad part is that with all the water, I get up in the night to use the bathroom but I go right back to sleep.

that is awesome! aspartame is so bad for you. your nervous system is probably thanking you right now.

I'm still doing well with it. I did 20 minutes of rebounding yesterday and felt like I'd been hit by a truck afterward. this flu, as I keep reaffirming, SUCKS. I'm going to take it easy today, since the coughing has really kicked in. I have to ref off-skate tonight, so that will be about 2 or so hours of walking and standing around.

                    Re: STAC Inductioneers!

                    Hi.

Just posting a quick note here. Day 5. Good for us! Kelly - congrats on no diet coke. That is really big. I've never been a soda fan (I have my other vices...). Steady - what is 'rebounding?' Sounds hard.

I'm trying to do fitday but find it a bit timeconsuming. I suppose once you get your usual foods down it might go faster. I'm going to try to stick with it for a few weeks though. I couldn't even find plan raw tomatoes on the list and spent about 15 minutes looking for them. Anyone else using that program? I heard about it here and thought I should give it a try.

I need to move through OWL this time too - induction kills me after a while. So, I'm going to go through the rungs rather than burn out on extended induction. The good thing about induction is that it doesn't require much thought. There isn't a lot of choice or research involved. OWL requires more learning/effort on my part. Got to do it this time. I left my book in Europe so I think I need another copy - probably all the info is here though.

Anyhow. Good day to you all. S-

I've just been logging my food on my blog. fitday makes me freak out when I see calorie counts (been dieting since age 9), so I don't do it.

                              Hi,

Just a quick note as I'm on my way out the door. Day 6 and so far all is good. I still have a lingering headache but it is fading. Trying to figure out where exercise will fit in today.

I'm looking forward to weighing myself tomorrow. I hope it goes well. I was a real scale slave and I'm mostly broken the habit but still tend to put too much emphasis there when the focus should be more on my exercise and eating performance over the week.

Anyhow, happy weekend. See you tommorrow.
