    STAC Exercise & Weight Loss Challenge


    Please join Vickie and I in competing in the STAC Exercise and Weight Loss Challenge. We hope that every STACer who signs up will start drinking more water, exercise more frequently and get a little closer to
    your goal.

    The Challenge will run from Saturday February 28th until Easter Sunday April 12th.

    The rules are simple.
    1. You must commit to posting an update daily including daily goals like water intake and exercise.
    2. You must commit to exercising at least 30 minutes 4 days a week. Be specific on your daily goal. Example: walking, elliptical, aerobics, weights, distance etc.
    3. Post a reasonable weight loss goal and weigh in every week. Just make sure you try to use the same day of the week.
    We will post a challenge member sticker with instructions on getting the sticker into your siggy shortly.

    Challenge finishers will receive a prestigious award.

        Hi Miab
        STAC is an acrynom for Second Time Around Club - members of our group have attemped (often successfully) Atkins - sometimes more then once (ME!) - and, for what ever reason, have to start again. In my case... regained ALL my weight lost. Bad me!!
        But good me now because I'm back and going strong!!

          Wow, I'll go ahead and say I'm in....but I'm really going to have to think about a specific weight loss goal! Hasn't been easy lately and I'm an inches loser apparently and rarely a pounds loser. Are we doing measurements too?? Because otherwise...I can work my butt off and look like a couch potato!!!

                If I'm not mistaken, what we're really after here are weekly weight loss goals - accompanied by a weigh in report (eg. Today I'm 210 and this week I will lose 2 pounds).

                Julie is the Challenge guru here (I'm just the guru's handy assistant) so she'll have to pipe in with the real truth of things.

                If I have the right of it, working with these smaller goals will be much easier!

                    To add the siggy sticker participation egg just click on the picture. Then left click your mouse. Then copy the address and past in the insert image icon (located on your tool bar). I hope this makes sense.



                    Still thinking on the measurements. It may be that you will have to add your total inches together and then report in how many inches lost,but we still want to see a weight loss goal and weigh in once a week. To go with all of the entries.

                    I will work on this more later.

                    My daily post will be something like this;

                    Yesterday I had a goal of 3 liters of water. I drank 2.5. Today's is 3 liters.

                    Yesterday I managed 2 miles on the tread mill and weight trained my upper body/lower body for 20 minutes. Today I went for a long walk and then swiming for 20 minutes.

                    Now back to work.

                        Okay... so I'm checking in...

                        I'm part of another challenge with weigh-ins on Tuesdays - so I'll make Tuesdays my weigh-in day for this challenge, too.

                        My starting weight for this challenge is 210 pounds.

                        Goals:

                        Full Challenge = 12 pounds lost forever (approximately 2 pounds a week)

                        Week 1 Exercise Goals =
                        Morning, 5 days/week: Walk to the train, walk from the bus to work = 20 mins
                        Evening, 2 days/week: Walk home from the train up a horrible San Francisco style hill - argh! = 20 mins
                        Evening, 2 days/week: On the days I walk up the hill, I'll continue the workout at home with fitness-ball exercises for 1/2 hour
                        Saturday: workout - Slim in 6 video series

                        Week 1 Weight-Loss Goal:
                        My weight loss goal for this week is 3 pounds (1 pound more then my average)

                        Daily Goals:

                        = I've already walked to the train/work, briskly (felt great!) - so that goal is complete.
                        = I can't walk home from the train today because I have to stop at the grocery store and will have bag(s) to carry so will take the bus. Tommorow!
                        = I'm horrible with my water. I've already had about 30oz of water so far today - I commit to drinking a full 100oz by the end of the day.

                        Now I have to go pee

                          I'm in! I really need to get in on as many challenges as possible since I'm trying to hit One-derland by July! It might not happen, but at least I know I did my darnedest to get there!

                            ok, for the week (so I don't forget to update, I'll do it all now):

                            100 oz water every day
                            4 hours of skating
                            callanetics (I haven't timed it yet, but I think it's 20-60 minutes)

                            yesterday, I had closer to 120 oz of water, and did callanetics = 20 minutes.
