    Hey Cleo

    I must say your very inspiring. I've found myself in a hate-hate relationship with my recently acquired scales (with the large dial).. Don't know why I just didn't keep on weighing once a month at the local store with the 25cent scales...ehh gads! Now I seem to be a scale-a-holic weighing daily and cursing self for not going down!

    Any advice for one who is pissed at measuring device? Also have been exercising (just started) feeling better about it but still have self hatred days and want to hide in bed. Any advice would be much appreciated and girl.. you are losing up a storm! Wonderful..

      Hi Kimmmie~ Thank you! {{{Kimmie}}}

      Donna-- my weight loss has slowed some recently! I know what you mean. It's hard to not keep track of weighing, so while I tend to weigh myself too much, I only record the weight every Monday night. This keeps things in perspective! If you need extra support, there is currently a "no weigh" challenge at the "challenges" board! They are such a funny and supportive bunch, too!

      I'd say that making your tape measure your new best friend is the way to go. I have lost 6+ dress sizes (34-20/22), and when the scale isn't budging, the tape measure still shouts, "Hallelujah! You are still on your way!"

      I also highly recommend Keto sticks (I use mine about 1-2 times a week). When I think I'm stuck and I use a stick and see that I'm still purple, it lets me know that the weight is still coming off. So for me, it's a threesome: scale, tape measure and ketosticks. I don't use all of them everyday, but they help keep me on track.

      Keep the faith! It happens soooo slowly sometimes, but it's still happening! You'll make it happen. {{{Donna}}}

      I still say when all else fails, smell something delicious! It boosts my feeling of well-being and makes me feel better. Or light a candle you really enjoy and just sniff the fragrance (just don't singe your nose hairs). :joy

            Ketosticks or Ketostrips determine whether or not your body is converting fat into fuel. They are fairly spendy, which is why I wouldn't probably opt to use them everyday, but for the piece of mind, it is helpful. I always keep some on hand!

            You can buy them at Target, Wal-Mart and other places. I buy the Ketosticks by Bayer because of all the pretty colors. :^D

              cleo,

              i thought it wasn't good for someone to stay under 10 carbs a day..... how did you do it... what was your menu or some things that you ate??

                It doesn't matter if you're under or over 10 carbs a day so long as you stay under 20. There's no real advantage either way, so eating under 10 or over 10 doesn't make a biggy diff. :^D

                At any rate, now my onus is on exercise, drinking more water and counting calories as well as carbs for maximum weight loss. Carb counting has come fairly naturally! The rest is taking some work.

                      I eat a lot of fat and protein, and my veg are very carefully chosen. Still, the number doesn't matter so much a just staying at 20 or under on induction.

                      Now I'm eating closer to 15 carbs, just so I can use cream and other goodies during the day. Thank you for calling my attention to the way I was doing things back then. I edited that post!

                      MsMayjay-- I look forward to reading about your success!
