well I thought I would start exercising this week... maybe that will boost my losing power. In the past, when I did Atkins... once I got into Ketosis it seemed like I just lost and lost; very quickly, but honestly it took a little longer for me to get to that stage than it has this time, so my body may have changed a bit in the past 8 years

"Weight loss is not linear" =) Unfortunately!

I found both times I've done Atkins properly, most of my weight came off the first week verses the second - but I'm sure some folks find the opposite, so as Kristi stated, it just really depends on your body.

I'd say instead concentrate on an AWESOME 8 POUNDS LOSS and if next week shows a smaller loss, its still loss! =)

So I did the spit test this morning, and it grew legs...Ugh! So I'm off to the health store at lunch time to see if I can find the necessary items to get rid of the "yeast beast." I'm definitely bummed about it, but maybe if I can get it gone, a few lbs will go with it. That would definitely make my week!

            Hey everyone. Late check in.

Franklin, WTG on the 8lb loss.

Kristi, Suckaroos on the Yeasties. I just went to GNC and bought some pills for it. It was called Candida. Not sure if its working yet or not.

Well Im feeling really really sick today. I had a sore throat all day yesterday. Took some cold medicine and sucked on sugar free halls most of the day. When I checked my keto stick I was only light which is the first time since I have been on induction. It must be the aspartame. Damn it!!! So my throat is still killing me and now im sucking on sugar free Cepacol which has aspartame. Im really trying not to get sick. I have a tendancy to down Nyquil when I feel like this and I didnt do it yesterday so I feel like total crap today. I did have some bacon and eggs this morning but lunch I was not feeling it much so I went and got some soup which is soothing my throat a bit. I have yet to drink water. Just hot water and tea. Its looking like this week will be really crappy for me overall if this turns into a full blown cold. I hope not.

Anywhooooooo the total poundage lost during induction was only 3.4 lbs. This is very disappointing to me. I really thought that I would have lost more than that. Even if it was 2 more I would have been happier. Maybe if I had been exercising from the get go it would have resulted in a bette loss. Oh and my measurements didnt change either. I really dont know where I went wrong. I thought maybe if it didnt show on the scale that it would show some inches lost. Well I cant complain about it now. I just hope I dont fall off the wagon with trying to fight this cold.

I went to GNC and bought pills as well. They are called Candida Quick Cleanse by Zand. I figured I will take them for the next few days and then do the test again on Thursday or Friday. I'm gonna miss cheese til I can add it back in again!

Hey Miss Monkey! I know. I was at just under 160.0 lbs and then my cookie adventure brought me back to 162.4 (could be TOM no idea.. recently went off birth control and so I really dont know WHEN its coming). But I can blame my lower weight loss on a couple things:

                01. An evil cookie
                02. A pathetic/non-existent amount of exercise
                03. Potentially my CoffeeMate Sugar-Free creamer

I also have yeasties, so says the Spit Test, so that could be adding to it. I have my oil of oregano & probiotics.. now just need the willpower to say so long to mayo, creamy salad dressing and cheese! =( LOL

I'm feeling very positive for my extended Induction period and very positive for the OWL rungs after!!! And I was surprised.. my inches.. no real movement. But then again, see reasons # 1-3 above LOL

PS - Is anyone here doing Extended Induction? I think some where.. Should we move ourselves into the Extended Induction forum and re-create this thread for our group? Or stay here and maybe some new comers might find the trials/errors helpful?

You guys have me all excited at your results. I've lost 2 lbs but I figure the first five are water related. I can't wait until the end of my first week of my induction period [Sunday] as I hope to be able to post similiar results as yours!

Kristi - works for me since we all know where the find this thread! =)

So whats the complete list of "no" foods for the yeasties? Heres what I located, so whats everyone going to eat?

                        Yeasty Foods:
                        · Vinegar, and foods which contain it, like mayonnaise, salad dressing, barbecue sauce, mustard, pickles and pickled foods.

                        Moldy foods:
                        · All cheese
                        · Dried, smoked or pickled meats
                        · Cured bacon
                        · Mushrooms, peanuts, and pistachios
                        · Soy sauce, miso, tamari, and tempeh
                        · Malt
                        · Pre-packaged herbs and teas
                        · Canned tomatoes

For best results, the yeast free diet should be followed strictly for at least three to six weeks. In the first few weeks, the lack of food can cause a massive die-off of yeast within the system. Unfortunately, this has the effect of dumping many yeast toxins into the intestinal and vaginal tracts, which can cause flu-like fatigue, weakness and irritability. However, the body quickly rebounds as the toxins are flushed from the system, and the yeast free diet provides much greater short-term and long-term energy reserves.
                        From this source: http://www.theyeastdiet.com/yeast-free-diet.html

I'm so bummed about the thought of being mayo/cheese/bacon free for 3 to 6 weeks.

I say lets stay on this thread. I think people still do come in here to read our posts.

Well Im feeling better. I left the office early and slept all afternoon. I no longer in ketosis which I figured I wouldnt be with all the damn lozenges I have had the last 2 days. Although they all say sugar free it sucks. Im hoping that whatever it is I have is gonna be gone soon. I definately want to do a better extended induction and Im really trying hard not to take a swig of nyquil.

Im gonna miss all that no yeastie food. I kinda started but I stopped because I dont want to deprive myself while my taste buds are shot.
