Elsie, it was quite yummy! I'll probably experiment more with veggies in a little while. Right now, I have bags of precut lettuce so it is so convenient. One of the reasons I failed before was the prep time to get dinner and lunch for the following day so I like the convenience factor.

Thanks for the welcome, it's good to be here. Glad you enjoyed the walk. I've got my treadmill set up in my office, so I'm going to take a "stroll" after dinner this evening.

            Elsie,

I'd like to join you. I'm also 44 and had success about 3 years ago, going from 318 down to 244 (relatively lean for my frame), but it has all come back (now 305). On the other hand, I'm male, and 6'2".

I'm going to start induction tomorrow. My one plus is that I exercise a lot, biking about 100 miles a week. That doesn't make me lose weight, though, when I continue to eat chips etc. I now have high blood pressure and cholesterol.

I just started back after a 2 1/2-3 year absense. I had great success the first time around...losing 60 pounds in 7 months. I did this with no cheats, drinking my water and climbing the rungs. Then I started playing mind games with myself and I think I got scared that I might actually succeed. I also fell into the "this one time won't hurt" cycle. Then before you knew it I was fell into the carb abyss. Now I am back...gained it all back plus 4 more. Feeling very sore and dragged down. My migraines are back...my fibramyalsia...my planter fascitis...my hip pain.

I started today. I weighed in at 241. Hoping to do a clean induction.

            Breakfast:
            Egg fried in Olive oil

            Lunch:
            Chicken Taco Caesar Salad

            Dinner:
            Chicken Taco Caesar Salad
            Green beans

Anyhow...I am looking for some buddies who have started recently to check in here on the list daily. We can support each other. Discuss any questions anyone has. Post our menus if we want. Whoever is on first can start the new post of the day. Maybe something like 'Buddy check in - Tues' Looking forward to making some new buddies.

            Any takers??

Welcome Louis! You are in great company here! 100 miles a week??

Steve...I use the precut stuff too. Sure makes life easier. How handy having the treadmill right there! Do you have a goal for using it? If you have any trouble with fitday I will see if I can help.

Elsie, I am starting with a 1/2 hour each day at about 3 mph. I also have a bowflex so I'm going to start incorporating weights as well.

I actually took time this evening to go on fitday and learn how to use it. That thing is awesome! It was so cool that I could add my own custom items. I went to the fridge, grabbed what I'm eating and put in all the data. I was surprised to find day one I was at 20 carbs, but today and my scheduled meal for tomorrow are at only 12 carbs. I wish I took time to learn how to use it sooner!

I totally agree with you Steve. Awesome site. Heehee...guess this was the post I missed? LOL! I hear you on the low carbs. I was low today too. Have to add more veggies to my salad...as soon as I go shopping. Good for you for having an exercise plan! You really have done good with your planning.

All you guys reallys seem to be on the road to success!

monie...good for you for getting that exercise in!

snow4rt...good work. Don't be afraid to move up to rung one. It is only adding 5 more grams of carbs of veggies. And you can try out some more veggies. Not too scary there.

                        billbazz...drink your water!!

                        good night!!

good afternoon, another slow start for me today as far as getting going, but doing well. i just realized i didn't have any lettuce with any of my meals yesterday, had veggies, but no lettuce, will have a salad for lunch today. getting my water in, just finished a 32 oz bottle. getting ready to do some laundry and hanging it out on the line so will be getting in some exercise just walking back and forth to the clothesline. really hot out today, so will wait til this evening to take my walk.

hope everyone has a great day.

Wow...pretty quite here today. What are you boys up too?? Being good and drinking your water..right??

monie...miserable day here. Am getting some inside work done. Don't tell billbazz but I am a little behind in my water...LOL. I will get it in. It just means I will be waking up more during the night.

Boy oh boy...if you need to get your carbs up eat some pumpkin puree. 10 carbs in a 1/2 cup and it is on the legal list.

Will check in again before bed.
