    Re: Looking for some buddies.

    Good Evening My Friends!

Oh glorious day! My energy kicked in this afternoon!! Things are going to get done now if this keeps up.

Bill...I had that problem last time and I can see it may be happening again. Last time I actually spent quite a bit of time balancing out my percentages with my calories...making sure I was eating at or around my BMR. Most days I managed that. Just have to find some calorie dense food. I found that Linda's site...the link I gave you...really helped and I batched cooked and froze stuff in serving sizes. A chili recipe I have was a particular favorite. Glad you were able to figure out the dinner thing. That really is good as you are learning to look inside and figure out your feelings. Something we all need to work on. Great step.

Monie...Congrats on a successful first day! And for working out how to get your exercise in before hand. As always..you rock!

To the other buddies....hope you had a great day! Hope to hear from you soon.

    Good night friends!!!

I would maybe count a tablespoon of each depending on how much of it you had in your portion. If very little, then 1/2 a tablespoon of each.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Thanks Elizellen...I forgot to answer Monie on that!!!

Stay strong Bill! It is your addiction calling. Don't answer! Isn't it amazing that just cutting out the sugars and refined carbs can have that reaction to our bodies?? It totally convincing me that we put way to much of that stuff in our bodies as a society. I know my body reacts to it...hence being about to drop 10 pounds in one week. But man...the power it has over our bodies!! Anyhow...it will pass. Great work at your exercise!!

I stayed up an hour too late last night working on puter. Almost done saving stuff. Am going to Staples today to see if they have the new one there.

          Check in buddies!!

                Good evening bud's

still fighting induction flu but feeling better than yesterday (if I can just beat this headache)..kinda cool thing happened this morning..getting dressed I noticed my pants were loose in the waist, had to grab a belt! I'm not talking fell off loose but even this tiny bit has me pumped!

Tiredoffat--glad to hear your making it thru the "flu" also..would like you to share your menu when you get a chance. This morning I had a green pepper and egg omelette, lunch I ground a steak into a hamburger and added portabella mushrooms and melted cheddar cheese on top plus a cup of salad (made last night to bring to work), Dinner I steamed up Cod in asian spices with a cup of salad and a cup of green beans. over a gallon of water drank also.

Hope all are having a great evening too! Heat wave expected to break tommorrow! going to read some posts and call it a night

                    Re: Looking for some buddies.

hello all, i'm back again, went for a walk tonight(second one of the day), did my challenge exercises, hubby even talked me into doing some leg lifts, and then i also did 5 whole push ups. i know that doesn't sound like alot, but i have carpal tunnel, and didn't think that i would even be able to do one. they were the girlie ones too, but we really don't have to mention that do we.....hehehehe

it seems very quiet on this thread today, i hope everyone is doing ok. i bet elsie is still flying high from her lbs lost the first week. i know i mentioned the other day about DH looking at the scale for me for my weigh in, and even though i don't want the number until after my two weeks are up, i did ask if the scales went in the right direction. he said that i had lost, i just had to know, if i had gained i would've wanted to go back over my menu to see if i had done something wrong.

anywho, just thought i'd check in one more time tonight.

take care and have a good day tomorrow,

                      Good evening everyone!

Dehlia...hang in there. Stay strong. Afterward you will feel much better.

Go Bill Go Bill...isn't it great how you are seeing the benefits already! It won't be long and you will be having to take the belt in another notch. Hopefully your headache is gone by tomorrow...if not hang in there..you are almost past the hard part.

Hey Harmony...You are doing good. Hoping the tired part passes quickly. You are so worth it!!

Monie...look at you already doing pushups! Your DH sounds very supportive. Did you catch that Elizellen answered your question?? WOW...you are already half way with your abs challenge and over that with your squats!! Keep up the great work!

I had something yummy today. I took 4 ounces ground beef (sprinkled with cayenne), 1/2 cup spaghetti squash, a Tablespoon of sour cream and a Tablespoon of mayo and mixed it all together. I really liked it...sort of a Hamburger Alfredo thing.

Okay...almost have everything ready to burn to disk. Picked up a new puter today. Went one up Bill ...they said it was the same as the other one but was like the next batch. A HP a6400f. Saved me having to order it and wait for it to come in and then drive to the store again. I am a bit nervous about setting it up as I have never done that before. They told me to be careful not to do it in French as that cannot be undone. YIKES! Will probably do that Thursday.

Anyhow...that is it for me. Have a good night.

                      Good night friends!

                        Hi everyone,

Today is day 5 for me on my "here we go again with Induction". I'm sure I've tried this about 30 times since my first go around back in 2003. Sigh.

At any rate, this one seems to be magical (knock on wood). Every time I do this I come up with a new favorite meal or side dish (I should have started my own cook book by now!) This time it's bacon fried in a pan with French cut green beans. I'm trying to limit it to every few days so I don't get bored with it. That and mushrooms in garlic butter and a wee bit of onion. Yesterday I added four spears of chopped asparagus. Mmmmm....asparagus..... Last time it was cabbage pizza. I haven't had that yet this time and I'm thinking it's about time. Well, there's my lunch plans!

                        Hang in there everyone!

                            Welcome aboard Tomorrow.

I find the easiest way for this thread is to click on the last page and then scroll back to the last time you posted. That way you get all the new news about everyone and it saves time. Finding some favorites makes it all more enjoyable doesn't it. Last time for me was chili. I haven't made it this time yet but will. I haven't got a favorite yet but I do get a sort of craving for this pumpkin shake thing. It doesn't even taste all that good. Especially the first two times. I just kept making it because I wanted to use up the can of pumpkin. It tastes like a running, undersweet pumpkin pie thing...LOL...sounds so bad...too funny! Oh wait...yesterday I had a great mock alfredo dish that I definately will be making again.

Dehlia..glad you are feeling good! Drink that water and make sure you are getting those veggies in. That should help.

So..I am a little worried about this weekend. DD and I and my Mom are going to a 3 day fiddle thing in another town. So 3 days hoteling it. I will not be drinking all my water those days as it tends to go right through me and I can't be running to the bathroom every 15 minutes. So that will be a test. Another test is that a few weeks ago I went in with 3 other people for some homebrew wine. Today I have to go and bottle 120 bottles of wine...30 of which are mine...LOL! I feel a lesson in control coming on...

Hey Monie and Bill...missed you posting this morning!

                            How is everyone else doing??
