Hey, I was working on Fit Day and got it to work, just can't enter the spinach from the quiche I made this morning, it is all or nothing, 10 oz package or zero. Frustrating! So my carb count is down bya point or two due to that. Any solutions?

Monie, yes, I will try to do the wts while studying, good idea!! Thanks!

Bill, I made your quiche this morning, it was really good, you should take another stab at it!! This time don't leave it unattended though! LOL! I added a bit of garlic powder and made bacon to go with it, it was awesome, glad you talked about it or I may not have tried it!!

Elsie, psst! I only had one whole splenda with the coffee this am, thats pretty good! Stepping it down!! TTYL!!

Val...I'll go check BRB.....Oh...nevermind...I think I got it. Here is where math in school finally comes in...LOL. You need to enter by the amount you used. So it comes up with a 10 oz package (probably a 1 in the white box) and you used 2 ozes so that would be .2 of the package. So click in that white box and change the 1 to a .2 Then click on save changes.

My butt hurts this morning. Got a new bike and rode 6 miles. Up and down hills. I was huffing and puffing, but very proud. I am looking forward to seeing how many miles my odometer will show at the end of the summer

hey buddies, hope all is having a good saturday. i've been with mom today, opened the garage sale up again. then came the bigges temptation i had to deal with so far since being back on atkins. she got hungry and asked me to get her something from Mcdonalds. so i went and got her a sandwich and fries. i'm just glad it was a short drive back to the house, that smell was killing me. i proud to report i stayed strong and didn't give into the temptation though. she evened offered to share a fry or two with me and i said "no thanks". not even a Mcdonalds french fry is worth sabotaging all my hard work for the last 3 weeks.

i aquired a stability ball today, and will be looking for an exercise routine to do with it. i actually did some squats using it against a wall and it was very comfortable doing them that way. i attempted to do some crunches on it, but gonna have to get used to it before the crunches will be very effective. it definately beats laying on the floor though.

haven't decided what's for dinner yet, kinda leaning toward steaks and green beans, with a salad also. i gotta go for now

          monie

            Hey Bud's
Not my greatest day today..finished 14 complete day's last night and on wiegh in I was not so happy..it was as Elsie said I didn't loose any but actually gained a pound. Everyone went screaming from the room, dog and cat leading the way..Rage was building..but I grabbed the tape instead..lost 4 inch's on my waist and 2 around my midsection..I am wearing a size 38 pant's (been 6 years since I wore this size) and gained something else Energy..went down and biked 1 hour and then went for a jog jogged 1 mile (have not jogged a mile in 8 years) I know without this WOL I would never have had the energy to do this again.
after a long shower and a light breakfast my family brought me downstairs to what looked like a giant clothes rack..brushing away the debree and clearing the junk and clothes away was my BIKE..back in 1999 -2000 I only needed to lose 50 pounds..This bike was my reward..lost 43 LB's and paid the $3000.00(very expensive even back then )..thought for sure it would fly me past the last 7 LB's. Life and (insert different issue's here) got in the way..never did lose that last 7 and this bike has been here ever since..abandoned...
she cleaned up great and still had that look of "come on let's go! let's see what's 5 miles or so down the road!" It's my new GOAL now..to be fit and have the energy and strength to get on it and ride it anywhere again!
Can't wait to hear people say "Wow look at that cool bike" "what bike"
"that bike--the one that fat guy is riding"
Decided to go one more week on induction..All that happened the first week with sickness, Med's reaction and some minor mistakes..I want a clean week to make it up.

have a few chore's to do will check in this evening! sorry for the rant...

Thanks! I'm afraid it's not just cravings though. I'm a sugar addict and it's just very hard to kick it. It makes me sad saying it out loud like that, but sugar makes me happy (not mention high). I'll be okay, I just need to face my mistakes and keep going. This board definitely helps. Any time I've failed in the past I've slunk away...except this time...so something must be changing inside me.

                  Thanks to all my buddies!

don't be sad or angry..remember DR A said never beat youself up! try to moderate if you give in, but beating yourself up makes you overeat.

hope this Quote helps..Hope sherri don't mind me using it:

                    quote=Sherri;917572]Hello,
Buy yourself some L-Glutamine and take it. It will help you with your cravings. Also a fat snack will help. As in a half of an avacado. Or cream cheese and celery.
Dr. Atkins writes about it in DANDR 2002 on page 136. He recommends taking one or two 500 MG of L-Glutamine before each meal. He also writes " If you previously ate lots of carbohydrates, this will help ease the transition to controlled carbohydrate eating"
I use to take it to get my cravings for sweets under control. It totally works. I buy mine in gel cap form. I'm proud to say that I have been sweetner free for 129 days today. That's pretty good coming from a sugar addict that I am, uurrrrrr was
Wishing you the best of health and lite.

I am still not recieving e-mails..few scattered.. so it's hit or miss when I come to the board..shame..don't know if someone is asking me a question or not.

I am struggling with the calorie intake stuff..reading DR A I realize that we should eat our reccommended calorie's for our age, body wieght and type, and level of activity. for me it is 2400 a day.
I believe (I could be wrong) from reading that if you eat more your body just burns what you have eaten and not you reserved fat..that's why people stall, stay the same, or OMG! gain..say I went on a binge because I was hungry and swollowed down an entire induction excepted meatloaf.
unbelievable 5000 carlories gone in one sitting...then it stands to reason you will gain..
now take my average meal from fitday
Breakfast-2 egg cheese omolete with half a fresh tomato and 2 stips bacon.
lunch-1 cup 7 layer salad (lettuce, onion, green pepper, tomato, celery,
alphafa sprout, and fresh egg and bacon bits, mayo) and 1 plain hamburger patty.
dinner-1 cup roasted turkey with 1 cup asparagus 1 cup 7 layer salad
carb count is great! but 2800 calories for the day..
                      have I stalled myself..
guess what I'm asking is for help understanding the Calorie thing
                      Thanks

Hi Buddies....I had a whole big message all typed out and it didn't load it for me! AARRGG! So here goes again....

Dewdrop...You go girl!! Keep riding that bike. I will admit that one of the reasons I have not gotten back on a bike is the bruised feeling on my butt bones that I had last time. Other than that I really really enjoyed it!

Monie...good for you for once again staying strong. You are getting more powerful every day!! Have fun with the ball.

Bill..I gave you an earful in my last post that got erased and I am going to do it again!! First of all...I am really sorry I was right...I usually like being right...but not in this case. Second...Are you a pound up from the weight you lost or a pound up from your start weight?? Either way...are you telling me you are sitting there...after only 2 weeks...4 inches down...and in pants you haven't worn for 6 YEARS and telling me you were not happy with your results???!! If I was right beside you right now I would give you a big smack...and I am not talking about a kiss mister!!! Well...aren't you a a Mr. Negative Pants!! So Suck it up buttercup...sorry to inform you but you are doing GREAT!!! Awesome! Amazing!! You should also be proud of yourself for taking that negative feelings and exercising with it! That is sooo good! What a caring and loving family you have to support you so in this journey. You truly are a lucky man!!

"hey...did you see that guy?" "What guy" "That one riding by on the bike." "You mean that thin one?" "Yeah him! You should have seen him before...you wouldn't have even recognized him...he looks completely different now." "He looks good to me." "Yeah...I tell you, seeing him change has made me look at my life and start to get healthy. Oh and isn't that a cool bike?"

Tomorrow...Pick yourself up and dust yourself off and LEARN THE LESSON! You have to do this clean. No "I'll just eat this and go back on the plan." or "One bite won't hurt." or "I NEED to eat this." You have learned that you gotta do it by the book and strict in order to cut your addiction. Are you going to let sugar be in control of your life or are you going to take a stand and take your health back. YOU are the one that decides what to put in your mouth. YOU can be stronger than the sugar!! YOU need to CHOOSE YOU! 2 weeks clean induction...if I were you I wouldn't even do the artificial sweetners...the induction flu should be gone any cravings should be gone. And if you still want the sugar then it will have to be a minute by minute fight for you. It sucks...but that it what we all do at some time or another. I know the evils of sugar...4 teaspoons of sugar in a cup of coffee for me....ice tea so dark that you would guess it was coffee...I KNOW. But YOU have the POWER...you CHOOSE what you are going to put in your mouth. It just doesn't fall in there. Some kind of inner dialouge happens that you let talk yourself into giving in. YOU are WORTH IT! You have to FIGHT for you!! Feel like caving in...come on the board...ask for help or give others some help..you will be amazed at the time passing...if you have time to eat you have time to come here. I don't have any food around the puter...only water...so if I am on here I am not eating. WE WANT YOU HERE! And we want to help you and see you healthy! I am glad that you didn't slink away. We are struggle. But we can get through it together. You can do this!!

Okay..group hug...even if you got a talking to tonight...I do it because I care about you guys!!!!

                        Sweet dreams!!

Hey Bill...On Atkins you can usually eat a couple of hundred above your BMR and still lose. I got you...if you are 5'11...I am guessing by the way you type..LOL...that your BMR is 2400 not taking into account any exercise. I don't want you to start panicing because the scale moved up one pound. (I still need to know if you are one pound up from start weight or one pound up from the weight you dropped during induction). If you lost inches eating approx like that everyday then chances are you are going to wake up with a whooshie one day. Some people do that. I don't usually drop a bit every day...instead I might drop 2-3 pounds over night and then not move for the rest of the week..or longer...You are doing good!!

my muscles?..well let's say I bought something tonight I only seen my parent's ever use..Ben Gay--oh goodness shoot me...

no really it's ok..legs sore but a good sore? hard to explain..I don't mind it..

my biggest worry is this new found energy will be gotten used to and forget that this is a diet that's needs to be followed for lifetime.(like I did last time)
once I reach my goal wieght I just brought my body to the fight ahead..lifetime good health and well-being
