Welcome to our new buddy dewdropinn
I was on the boards a bit also before I started induction..it helped me to complete my shopping, plan out my meals and batch cooking and storing and to start a loose excercise plan. real loose--LOL

Concrads tommorrow! was it something you saw earlier in the day or an all new craving you were fighting? Bet everyone on this board has had the same fight at some point.

Tired--You will need your energy to match that new pup of yours..Thinking about it..it's a little package of excercise you were looking for LOL

Hey everyone! Welcome DewDrop! I don't have much time, gotta get back to my online class.. but yes, monie, you will love the mock danish! My bf decided he needs a sweet a day and I made that, he thought it tasted like rice pudding cheesecake! He likes it more than some of the other desserts. Tomorrow, great job not giving in!!! I know how that feels sometimes! Stay strong!! Bill, I still have to look up the challenges, but I really should be studying, hopefully we can participate in the next one! I soooo have to catch up on my anat phys class first tho!! It is my first online class and with a new-ish baby, it has been a real challenge!! I will check back in later tonight yall! If it doesn't rain today later, I plan to take the dog for a walk, I hope I can fit it in!!!! I haven't exercised at all yet, and am on day 6. Down 5 pounds though, that is good! TTYL!!!

Sigh. I have no idea what the problem is, but every day seems to hold a brand new challenge in the craving department! I HAVE to make it past today! Every other time I've started Induction (other than the first time), the longest I've made it is 10 days. I have to get over this hump! Why has this gotten so difficult? I'm starting to wonder if the problem is really just in my head. ARG!

            Tommorrow,
it must be something..has your caffeine intake risen? causing cravings for sweets........ I know it's in MY head tho--I had a craving for Pizza--found the recipe for the coliflower pizza crust and read the raves about it at the board..went to the market and grabbed all the ingredients, spent hour or more preparing it..cooked it..and when it was done I didn't want it anymore ..still sitting in the ice box..was it the instant gratification I really craved??? (1 phone call to Pizza Hut and 20 minutes later there's a skinny teen holding box's up to his eyeballs at my door)

You can do it! We can do it!
in the morning were BOTH going to say 10 days down!

Day one just before Dinner. What is for dinner? Probably a chicken salad with a green veggie. I will pick up a few things at the store but pay day is Thursday, and don't have a whole lot of cash. I commute to work also about 60 miles a day so I may need some gas money! Out of this world prices.

So doing good. I actually feel thinner in my face after one day if that is possible. Not doing so bad today. Looking forward to dinner though. I need to bring snacks for tomorrow.

There are posts here on stretching a buck..from buying at road side stands and farmer's markets to big fancy club stores..
my problem has always been storage..nothing like lugging out a million pound bag of veggie's hauling it in the house and stuffing it in the fridge to watch it rot away in 3 days

And you are loosing! Way to Go! I am on day 10 of induction myself

Well, I made the pizza crust out of cheese pizza for dinner.... it was unbelievably good! I made sauce out of pureed canned tomatos and pizza spice, topped with a few pepperonis, ground beef and onions, sauteed peppers and mushrooms, and a bit of mozz to bring it all together. We had a little salad with a bit of mayo stirred in for dressing so it isnt so dry, and it was a very satisfying dinner! I am amazed!!! No exercise yet, still trying to recover from this cold. Going to make a quiche tonight so we don't have to cook breakfast every day, can just warm it up in the mic.

hi everyone! i am doing good today. i can really relate to what you are saying, tomorrow. every time i have restarted, the longest i have stayed on induction is 10 days also. it's frustrating. outback jess posted about getting back to what works. and this is what i am doing. i am remembering how i did things the time around when i was really successful on atkins. i want to lose the rest of my weight, but i really want to learn how to follow this woe for the rest of my life. for me, right now, i am getting back to basics.

i am in that really cool stage of induction that i think happens when the toxins have cleared my body...for me, usually the third or fourth day of induction. it feels to me like my senses are heightened...i am not dealing with cravings, and i have to be careful to actually eat. this lasts for a few days, until i level off with my eating...i have always thought that maybe this is my body kicking in to ketosis...i feel focused, energized, aware...

this weekend is grandma's marathon. i ran a marathon in 2004 and a half marathon in 2005. i've been playing with the idea of doing that again. maybe next year i could be running grandma's instead of handing out water...

here's wishing everyone a peace filled beautiful night! jen

LOL! I reread that and it was a ramble! I made for dinner, what I pasted below, it was awesome!!! And yesterday I also baked a quiche with some bacon, leftover gr beef from the pizza, broccoli, and onion. Breakfast was sooo much easier this morning, we get up at 4:30, this made life much more simple! ALso, I am on day...7 now, and I am not feeling that hungry, not having cravings, feel pretty darn good, actually (other than this sore throat). I find that I have to remember meals, not even snacking. Same with my bf, although he works a hard labor job so he does get hungry. I am hoping it will be smooth sailing from here. I have about 50 pounds to go and I plan to stay on induction till its gone, hopefully lots of it this summer. I plan to start exercise as soon as I am better from this cold, I have asthma and am hoping it doesn't move into my lungs and I dont have to go on antibiotics and all that extended crap. Yeah, doing well, I am surprised.

NANCYELLE'S THIN AND CRISPY PIZZA CRUST
                        8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
                        4 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
                        3 eggs
                        1 teaspoon garlic powder
                        1 teaspoon basil, optional
                        Toppings of your choice *
Mix the cheeses, eggs, garlic powder and basil well. Line a 16-inch pizza pan with parchment paper or nonstick foil. Evenly spread the cheese mixture in the pan, almost to the edge, making it as thin as possible. Bake at 450º 15-20 minutes until golden brown. I suggest checking it after about 10 minutes. If it's getting very dark on the edges and top, turn the oven down to 400º and continue baking until brown all over and no longer pale on the bottom. Pat off any excess grease then add your toppings. Keeping the oven rack in the center position, put the pizza under the broiler until the toppings are hot and any cheese you added is melted and bubbly, about 4-5 minutes.
                        Makes 8 servings
                        * You may want to sauté your mushrooms, peppers and other vegetable toppings before using because the pizza will only be baked briefly with the toppings on. I also recommend pre-warming any meat toppings as well. I put all of my toppings, except the sauce and cheese, in a big skillet and heated them up together.

Good morning buddies. I lost it yesterday. I didn't make it past day 10. Sigh. And I lost it big. But that's okay, I'm back in the saddle and ready to ride. I think I'd better move into OWL as soon as I can and start doing those rungs. Maybe by adding back a bit of variety I'll have more options to choose from. Of course I couldn't cheat with higher rung food could I....no. Alas, 'tis the curse of being human.

                          Have a great day everyone!

                                Hello,

I would like a buddy! I am on day 3 of induction, after having lost 40+ pounds 6 years ago or so then quitting. I still had 30 to go, so here I am again back to the drawing board! So far so good but I am having problems with water. I drink it but I have MS and bladder spasticity is one of my problems. Still I can already see a difference in my face. I went back on this as my muscle aches and pains were increasing and I know that I need to get some of this weight off to help my MS out or my body's ability to deal with it.

                                Take care!
