BTW-- love the ticker! I am a horse racing fan...

I forgot to mention I have fibromyalgia too. And... I am off to FL for a few days and my dad there installed a pool. If no one is home, ha ha, maybe I'll do some water walking- the horses will be there but they are smalled than me! (I can't swim, so that is not an option) the heat is no good for MS, but good for fibromyalgia- icky combo.

Hmmm... a Brazilian BBQ opened up nearby! woo hoo!

Uhh a BBQ Fan..posted over the weekend that I was smoking a Turkey--

          Hello everyone!!

I am back and very much excited to see 5 pages of posts to go through. What a great support you have been to each other!!!

Bill...Gosh..that had to have been scary! I remember thinking when you were talking about your belt that I thought you were doing extremely well. It is interesting about the meds. I will definately have that in mind when I reply to others about their dizzies. Are you doing okay now? Even though that was a lot of water weight it still counts as weight lost! It was on your body and dragging you down. Do let us know the name of the drug. How is the quiche making coming along? Glad your energy hit. Isn't it great!! Remember that feeling when you are tempted. Because that is what the refined foods was not allowing to happen. What a great Father's Day gift to have your daughter join you in your WOE and exercise! She is a keeper!! LOL...I also belong to the lug it out and watch it rot in the fridge club. Working on that though. Did you try the pizza...how did it taste?? Worth the work?

Monie...good for you for trying something new. You could use those big mushrooms and make kind of a individual pizza with them. I have seen pictures but have not tried it yet myself. I will. Maybe on the BBQ. Yum! 9 POUNDS!!!! You go girl! That is great. Also I believe that with your exercising you actually lost more fat than that but replaced some with muscle which is heavier. Keep it going!! How did the mock danish recipe turn out??

Tomorrow...good job staying on plan on Friday with your Mom. I know it can be hard when we get together with others. You are strong and in charge! Also good for you for fighting the urges after the visit to your Mom and Dad's. I love the control you are taking for yourself. Stay strong. The cravings should pass soon. In fact....I would almost say they should have by now. You might want to post a menu for review to see if someone can see some trigger in there. There is a menu review forum. If you do that feel free to post it here as well if you want. I totally agree with moving on to OWL. Climbing the rungs is where we learn the most about our bodies. It is also important to figure out why you won't let your self succeed past day 10.

Valleriek..welcome aboard. Very cool that your BF is doing this with you! Nice to have the support around you. Atta girl for staying strong in the Walmart line! It is a huge victory as you learn that you hold the power. Congrats on the 5 pounds. You will be glad you ordered the book!! How is the induction flu coming along. Isn't it amazing what those refined foods and sugars did to your body that if feels this bad without it's fix!! Stay strong! I am with Monie...you should be eating more than the 10 carbs...and you may be...plug a day into www.fitday.com just to see. Your 2 cups of salad should not be just lettuce. And don't forget your cup of other veggies. Also eggs have .8 and cheese has a bit. Your salad dressing has some. So does Splenda. You may be surprised at your carb count. I highly recommend Linda's site! BUT want to warn you to make sure you check the acceptable food list here first. I noticed last time I was there that she had LC tortillas on a induction recipe. That is a no-no here. Can you post the mock danish recipe you use?? the pizza sounded YUMMY!

Jen...one clean day at a time! You can do it! Sounds like you got really lucky with the induction flu. Lucky you!!

SueSue...welcome aboard! Hope to see you checking in regular here. Don't be overwhelmed by the amount of weight you have to go. Baby steps. We are here for you!

Dewdropinn....welcome...never too late to join. Sounds like exciting times coming up!! Check in often!!

Delia...glad you are still around and checking in. A good reason to walk now with the new puppy!!

Kimzinnie....welcome here!! I know that you will feel better if you stick to the plan!! You can do it! Stay strong. I have fibromyasia as well and I know that last time all my pain went away as I got thinner. Also my hip pain and my migraines. Hoping that will happen again this time!

Okay...now all about me...LOL! My weekend away went well. Did mess up on Friday. Had a big brain fart. I have been drinking these pumpkin shakes in the morning. Well Friday night we went out for dinner and DD ordered some salt and pepper wings and some sweet potatoe fries. And I, in my brain fart, ate about 10 or so of them thinking that they were legal...because in my mind I was thinking it was orange like pumpkin...LOL!! thank goodness I didn't order a plate to myself. All in all I think it went well. Of course I had no real control over what ingredients were in the food I ordered but I think I stayed pretty legal. The hotel had muffins and juice available for breakfast so I didn't eat that though Mom and DD were but I had them drive through MacDonald's and I ordered an ham, egg, cheese McMuffin and gave the muffin part to DD. We went to de Dutch and I ordered side of 2 eggs and side of back bacon. So anyway...all in all....very proud that I didn't fall for temptation. Weighed in Monday and I am down 2 pounds this week. I wanted 3 but had forgotten about going away so am exstatic with 2 pounds after being away and eating for 3 days right before. So total of 12 pounds down during induction. Then on Monday I started to change over to the new puter and half way through I was in a lot of pain. Finished it only because I had too. Then laid down and then when I got up I went to the emergency room. I was there for 6 hours and we still don't know whether I have a burst cyst in my ovaries or something going on with my appendix. Anyway...I choose to come home as I can rest better. The pain is less but is still there...like I did a thousand situps and strained my back. If it is still there tomorrow I will probably head back in. I sure don't want an operation!!! Then this morning my server was down. I was hoping you guys weren't thinking I had abandoned you all!! Okay...this is LONG...and drained me....I am going to go lay back down. If you don't hear from me you know why.

Keep supporting each other....what a great group!!!

          Later friends.....

Wow Elsie, lol, long post, sounds like you did terrific over the 3 days! Wow, I totally admire you. The recipe for the pizza crust was from Linda's site... Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes
I made the mock danish from there too, it was great.
Ugh, cold completely kicked in today, I made a beef roast and veggie soup for dinner, it was really good, hit the spot, being sick and all. So the splenda counts as carbs?? I wasn't aware of that! I guess it said less than one so I assumed a couple of packets a day wouldn't hurt. Hehe, I changed the coffee out for decaf this afternoon, I did tell bf, and he is cool with it. I just want this to be as successful as it can be, induction half over already. I read all the troubles peeps were having with it stalling. Oops, gotta go the baby calls ttyall later!!

Yeah...that happens...people think something is okay when it is not. That is why fitday is soo cool and also a forum where you can post your menu for review. 3 artificial sweetners a day and 3-4 oz cheese. And not all cheese is allowed. Some...like mozz and ricotta are for the dairy rung.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Ok, so I am doing ok on cutting back the sweeteners then. I cannot get fitday ot work for me, it tries to sell me the program once I enter a food, is this normal? Something about fitday for your pc. And shoot! The pizza crust was marked as induction friendly, 8 oz of mozz, so I haven't been following this perfectly then! Aww, man!! Well, I plan to stay on induction for the summer anyway, so I am sure there will be times when I am not exactly on. I also took some Nyquil tonite, it has sugar in it, but what do I do, ya know? I just do my best and keep plugging on! I hope my book comes soon so I can read up!! Thanks for the heads up!

hope tommorrow is the day you whip this cold!

AWWW (((((BILL)))))! Thanks so much. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! And no it isn't the Oxycodone because I didn't take any. LOL!

I am up and feeling better. Finally ate something. Hadn't eaten since Sunday. Tummy still sore...but not painful...so will probably go to the hospital tomorrow just to make sure everything is okay.

Okay Val....I really wouldn't sweat the mozz. You are still doing well. I thought the recipe said 12 oz cheese all together. I am hoping you didn't eat the whole thing at once?? If not the 12 oz is divided up by the number of slices the pizza was cut into and then the number you ate. If you did eat it all(Ha...I am sure BF had his hands in there as well) then this is a good time to learn that even if something is legal it doesn't mean you go nuts on it. All (legal) things in moderation. As far as the cold thing...you could post a thread in the main forum asking about colds and meds. I remember something from last time I was on the board.

Bill...don't worry about the cheese this time. Just keep plugging on. I didn't know about it last time either and I did find. Mind you I wasn't eating a full 3 oz a day either. But you have already lost so much it wouldn't have hurt you. Man oh man that pizza on that link looks GOOD! I know what I am doing with the cauliflower from the garden when it grow big enough!!

I am getting used to this Vista...is very different. I will think I have a couple of windows open and look up and I have all these tabs open...LOL!

Bill...don't forget to go change your weight in your sig line. I am on the way to do mine!

                        • Re: Looking for some buddies.

hey guys, sorry for posting so late. just got home a little bit ago from a cincinnati reds game. (unfortunately they lost, but still a good time was had) hubby got their all you can eat seats, where you can get unlimited hotdogs, peanuts, popcorn, and soft drinks. i was a little leary at first, but i was proud i resisted the temptations. i did have 3 hotdogs, but not the buns, just ate the hotdogs with ketchup and slid them out of the buns as i went. i thought about maybe eating some peanuts, but since i decided to stay on induction another week, i didn't, seeing as i still had a bit before i would be able to eat the peanuts legally. i did have 2 diet pepsi's(the first caffiene in 2 weeks) but still could have done alot worse. don't feel guilty about the evening, but rather happy for not giving into the temptations.

wow elsie, sounds like you did well on trip this past weekend. glad to see you back, but sorry your under the weather.

it seems like so many of my buddies are getting sick or have been feeling bad in the past week, i hope it's not contagious(lol).....seriously, i hope you all start feeling better very soon. (just had a thought) if the atkins naysayers heard about all this sickness they would be blaming it all on our woe, and say it's because of the atkins deit. that it's bad for you, and any other negative things they could drum up. it's a good thing we all know the truth, and know that it works for us and we are better for having found this wol.

tomorrow....get back on that wagon, and remember one little slip up does not mean you failed. we are all human, and we'll all have our moments, we'll only fail if we don't get back on track. just remember what triggered you to go off plan and make sure you there are things in place to prevent it the next time you are tempted.

it's getting late, and i've rambled on enough for now. i will post more tomorrow. stay on track everyone and have a good night.

                          monie

LOL...we are a bunch of sickies this week aren't we!? Oh well...it will all pass soon and we will be healthier and feel more better than ever before.

Monie...you can ramble anytime! Love the interaction. Good stats on your challenges!!
