Ugh, I am feeling ICKY today! I just can't snap out of it! I have been following the plan perfectly, I know that this will pass, but holy am I having irritability, tired physically, and just kind of nauseous. Its day 4, when do I get over this part so I can feel good every day??

Also, I am wondering if it is ok if I am not eating 20 carbs? I hate counting, I am looking for something not complicated, so I haven't been counting. I just started figuring it out, and probably I have been averaging 10 a day?? Is that bad? Or are we supposed to try for 20 every day? Thanks!

valleriek, it sounds like the induction flu has hit you pretty hard, but with my experieces, usually starts to subside by days 5 or 6. you said you really don't want to count your carbs, but you really should. using something like fitday.com can really help. it's very easy to use. i rarely ever hit the 20 mark, usually i hit anywhere between the 13-18 carbs mark once i subtract my fiber intake for the day. a few days i hit right on 20, but normally right around the 13-18 mark. that could be why you are feeling bad too, you might need to raise your carb count a little higher than 10 carbs. are you drinking your water? that helps too.

        hope you feel better soon

Thanks monie, I am drinking lots of water!!! I guess maybe it is a too low carb count maybe? And where the heck does one get all the carbs when limited to only 3 cups of veggies? I eat a few cheese sticks, but they are only one carb each.... otherwise for snacks, it is meat or eggs. I don't have the book yet, I am trying to follow this to the tee, is there info I am missing because I don't have the book maybe?

Hi Val...like you and moni, I rarely hit the 20 mark either. I'm actually in right around the same range with the 13-18. I'm rather shocked at how low my calories usually are though...somewhere around the 1300 mark normally (one day I actually made it up to 1700 ). It seems so low, but some days I couldn't eat any more if I tried! Once you move on to OWL and add more, 5 grams at a time with the extra veggies, you'll build it up. Trying some veggies with higher carb counts might not hurt, like brussel sprouts or tomatoes.

              Good evening all
Good day for me..excercise went well..still not hungry in the A.M. to the point where I am rolling up 1 hard boiled egg into a lettuce leaf.
But.. but.. My energy hit today! by 6 P.M. was still full out doing yard work, usually by then It's nap time and no dizzy's today!

A warm welcome to SueSue-I have been reading your posts..the reasons you are doing Atkin's and coupled with your determination, is inspiring and motivating to everyone on this board

Valleriek--I'm probably the last person to give advice on how to get over feeling bad because I folded like a deck of cards..But it really will pass!
if your having aches and pains..once your body starts to absorb your multivitamin they will really vanish. The book is so much more than just the diet..The chapters leading up to induction will be an eye opener and education for you. and I read every question on posted on this board and 99% of the answers to those questions are in this book

It's great that everyone is having a great day! hope all have a good evening also!

To our new buddies that have not written in, I hope for the best! or if you need to restart please let us support and encourage you! we know your worth it!

Hi all, yes,a beautiful day in Minnesota!!! Not too hot, and sunshine for once!! We let dad, my significant other, sleep in today, he woke up to pork steak and eggs for breakfast, which was just terrific with him. He decided to go to town to get some items for work, and I asked if he would mind picking up a "few" things from the grocery store, he agreed. I was on Linda's site getting recipes like crazy, anything induction friendly that sounded good. I actually put a cook book together today while he was out shopping, using an empty photo album and printing recipes off.

Anywho, he did such a great job shopping for LC foods and ingredients, I was so proud!! I am on day 5 and he is on day 4, I think he is really invested now that he put all that time in, its very cool! So I made egg foo yung for lunch, and it was sooo good!! I also put together cherry jello no bake cheesecake so he has something sweet for lunch tomorrow. I also made the revolution rolls, I really like them, they taste like popovers! Anyway, a fun day of shopping and cooking LC.

I ended up with a sore throat, the kids have a cold, so I think that may be part of why I felt so crappy yesterday. I am looking forward to starting a challenge on the 22nd! How is everyone else??

good morning buddies. hope everyone had a great weekend. today was weigh in day and the end of my 2 week induction. i lost a total of 9 lbs.
i'm pretty excited. it just proves that with a little hard work and no cheating that this diet works. i know i can do this and i know that alot of the success over the last 2 weeks came from having the support of you all and the others on this board.

i'm gonna try the mock danish for breakfast this morning. never attempted this before so i hope it's good. will check in after work tonight. have a great day everyone.

I think I am in need of a group like this. If you will have me that is. I have had moderate sucess in the past, 180 lbs to 158lbs. When I did go off and do the "low fat " thing, well I know nothing is restricted so low fat or not I just overate.

I need to change my signature because today I weighed in at 205. My highest ever. However, I am not that upset about it because I feel focused and I know this works if I want it to. I have the control.

I have not gone shopping yet so today's breakfast was quite boring. 2 hard boiled eggs and string cheese. I brought a lean hamburger patty for lunch, along with some mock potatoe salad, and dinner? not sure. I need to go shopping.

I am 28/f and have had a very very difficult year. It mostly had to do with my job. Now I have a new job, and this one is also very stressful, but I am much happier with having this stress than my last situation.

I am getting married on Sept 27th in vegas baby, vegas. I just got back from hawaii, and saw Dave Matthews Band, and went to chicago twice. I am living it up before I get married Oh, and i am going to see New kids On the Block in October.

Hi dewdrop, welcome! Wow did I have a hard time last night! Yesterday at my parent's was find, oddly enough, but when I got home, not so much. I was crawling the walls and on the verge of jumping of the cliff at any second. I'm soooo happy this morning that I didn't go off plan, especially when I stepped on the scale and was a pound lighter! I can't believe I've made it this long.....day 10, here I come.....
