I started on 7/5/08...is that close enough? I'm still having my early induction headaches and I'm feeling a little crabby. I took the day off of work tomorrow so I can de-carb in peace!

Oh, and I haven't started my exercise yet...I figured one thing at a time. How soon do I really have to start exercise? I just can't deal with it with these headaches...which should be over in another day or so (I hope!)

start exercise as soon as you're ready (better sooner than later), atkins will help us lose weight, but exercise will sometimes double or more the weight you lose, as well as tone up your body, and make it the shape you want.

This is great!!! How was everyone's night?

I was STARVING but it was really really easy not to eat too much because it was 97 degrees at 11pm when I went to sleep. Had a nice dinner of fat free chicken breasts simmered in <gross> bacon grease with some poultry seasonings and lemon pepper with zucchini fried in butter with italian seasonings. The chicken didnt come out bad, it was kinda like gravy. But thats my BF the chef LoL

I still have my headache, it went away last night for a little bit. I'm going to say its the extremely hot, smoky, humid air we have up here

Re: For those starting Atkin's on 7/7/2008.

                      Hello.

I'm just reading this today--my second day on induction. I made it to 5 days two weeks ago, but then had a migraine and fell off.

This may seem weird, but if anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it. I didn't have any induction flu, just a few craving the first 2-3 days. But I had a problem getting enough calories!! I didn't feel hungry. I kept to the recommended percentages--but it was difficult to keep the fat up. I have a freezer full of all kinds of low fat meat and feel bad about buying more with a freezer (large) full. So, I ate a lot of mayo.
I used FitDay--great tool. My BMR is 1480, so, I am supposed to eat at least that many calories. By the fourth and fifth days, I was kinda getting week (I assume because of lack of adequate calories-1200 to 1500). Days 4 & 5's calories kept dropping. Then my migraine hit, and with everything at once, I just at anything.
Since July 4 was approaching, I decided to wait until 7/7 to start over. Any suggestions on how to increase the calories? I use bacon/grease, butter, cream cheese, heavy cream, full fat cheeses. I even broke down and bought chicken legs with skins on them (freezer has boneless/skinless chicken breasts only).
Another note, I was slightly in ketosis on day 2 (previous time), and really in on day 3 and beyond.
                      Thanks.
BTW - not severely overweight (25 lbs) but I have never been this much over plus being unable to lose-even gaining more. Chalk it up to perimenopause.

Sorry about the second post immediately. But, I forgot to add some pertinent info.
I am a raging sugar-holic with severe problems with hypoglycemia (related to too much sugar consumption-not obesity).

Re: For those starting Atkin's on 7/7/2008.

                          Hillbilly,

Are you getting any veggies in your daily food intake because that might be an issue if you aren't eating them. Usually around the first week or so, you will experience some sort of induction flu, whether it be you can't walk when you just wake up, to just having headaches, etc. But, eating veggies is VERY crucial for this way of life! Veggies have always been healthy and they are the ones that increase your fiber intake during the day so you can make a bowel movement.

So, you have hypoglycemia I take it? That's when your blood sugar is low...? Perhaps your body is starting to produce too much insulin to make up for all the sugar that has been eaten. Which isn't a good thing at all. =( I'm sorry to hear that you have that. (I hope my pancreas continues working for a long time....meep)

As for me. Man oh man oh man!!!! I just woke up and it's around 10am over here in Cali. And the thing is, I want to sleep some more because I didn't get that much when I was working over the weekend. I honestly had to walk like an elderly person down the stairs because it was too painful to walk. INduction flu isn't gone yet!! I still have this massive headache looming over me.

But, I'll feel better soon enough and I won't get discouraged. I'm not at all at the moment anyway. I'm still irritated from last night. My supposed friend wanted me to go to the bar with him. And what is the point of going to the bar when you can't drink, right? So, drinking makes me a bit more social, I guess. But seriously I didn't want to go because I didn't want to fall into temptation and I don't like being around people who are portrayed as nice people, but in actuality they do drugs and all that stuff. That is not my type of crowd, especially in the proffession I am in. And the sad thing is, "My friend" doesn't understand what it's like to have a jo and everything. It seriously wipes you out sometimes.

But anyway. Today is day 3. I really want to look at the scale, but I am not going to look at it one bit!! I'm going to avoid it at all possibilities. =)

                          How is everyone doing today?

I am not a fan of bacon, or eggs and I can't seem to wake up early to eat breakfast. Just been grabbing a string cheese. I know I need to eat more breakfast.
