Confused...about to throw in the towel..please help

  • Confused...about to throw in the towel..please help

    Well I have been doing this for 5 days and have lost 1.5 lbs. It appears according to fit day that I am eatting to many vegetable carbs...

    Breakfast

    1 coffee decafe with cream
    1 coffee not decafe with cream
    2 eggs, .5c half and half cream (I have to finish the carton, I know to cut it out), 3 shaved slices of black forest ham.

    Lunch

    2 oz chicken breast, 1 tsp cream cheese, .5 c broccoli, 2 oz cheeder cheese

    snack
    1 tbs cream cheese, 2 celery stocks

    Water - 3 litres a day!!

    Fit day says my carbs are 22?? net carbs that is 20.3!!

    It appears I can't eat dinner tonight? What am I doing wrong here? I also do not think my am in kentsis or how ever its spelt.

    Please help before I loose my will to even bother and I throw in the towel....UGHHHH

        Am I reading this wrong or are you drinking 1/2 cup half & half, plus cream in your coffee?

            The broccoli and celery is 3 net carbs...the rest is all that cream and then some from the cheeses. This is how FitDay can be so very helpful in learning how to re-tool our menus.

            You need more veg for today and tomorrow...knock off all that cream! When you have dinner tonight maybe have the rest of your veggies and some protein & fats.

            No need to throw in the towel...weight loss and healthy living is a learning experience.

              I don't know how to use fit day very well. In total with coffee and in my eggs I guessed at .5 cups of half and half cream. I rounded up but its only like .3 of a cup for everything.

              Not sure where you get 3 net carbs for the broccoli and celery because that is not what the sitday thing says even subtracting the fibre from the carbs.

              This is stupid!

                Log in to your Fitday account.

                Go to the Profile tab (2nd one).

                At the bottom of the screen is "Public Journal". Click on the blue Public Setting Page.

                Click on the button "Make My Journal Public".

                You will be given a link that says: http://fitday.com/fitness/PublicJournals.html?Owner=<youraccountname>

                Click on that and then paste the link from the browser window here.

                    OK...you measure veggies raw so
                    .5 c. of raw broccoli has 3g carb - 1g fiber = 2g net carb.
                    2 medium celery ribs have 2g carb - 1g fiber = 1g net carb.
                    2 + 1 = 3g net carbs.

                    ETA: Black forest ham is smoked/cured not fresh ham. Fresh ham is similar to pork roast. Carb counts are the same but sodium is higher on the smoked ham.

                    ETA2: I don't think you had 3 cups of vinegar (ewww) so that would knock down your carbs a bit too.

                      Sorry ... must have been posting at the same time!

                      Here's a trick with Fitday ... you want to enter as much of your food "raw" as possible. So your omelet should be eggs, whole, raw, large ... 2. Fitday often adds ingredients to cooked foods.

                      What kind of "cheese" ... you should be specific.

                      3 cups of red wine vinegar???

                      Was your broccoli both florets and stems? Again, this should be entered raw. I presume you measured it raw rather than when it was cooked?

                      You should be specific as to what kind of lettuce, too.

                      You've got 14.8 net carbs accounted for.

                      I think your broccoli carbs are high ... and if you use raw eggs, you'll have a more realistic egg carb total, too.

                      You already know you're over the limit on the 1/2 and 1/2.

                        I thought we could only use heavy whipping cream? Is half and half legal?

                          For the love of god I am getting so frustrated.

                          NO i didn't eat 3 cups of vinager! I had 3 tbs spoons, I had .3 of a cup of cream so I am not sure how that is over AND I had 3 pcs of celery not two! yes the eggs were raw. I picked the thing that said eggs! Broccoli was both florets and stems and measured raw. I did read the book and know that much

                          how about someone giving me an example as to what the (*&^ I should be eating because I a two seconds for saying F*** it~!

                          Is there another tracking site I can use?

                          As I mentioned I know the half and half has to go but I am not throwing out the whole carton so I have to finish it! Whipping cream, who the heck puts that in their coffee or eggs...heavy cream (here in Canada that is 18% cream) I have and use but I again have to finish the carton!
