Thanks Mitzi for your reply! I thought about this all night... your success certainly speaks for itself... I think now that i'm weighing less I need to eat less now too... and that's a good lesson. It is amazing how satisfying and energizing veggies are. I was still hungry last night after dinner and made that little salad thinking 'poor me' and yet, was very satisfied after eating it. It's our mind set and the fact that we're a little brain washed into thinking food is 'it' and certain foods are really 'it'. When we don't need that much... Eat to live vs live to eat... right? Clearing out the cobwebs upstairs...
Liz, I think that you and I are on some kind of wavelength here. I have been thinking about this all night and day, too. And now y'all know how my brain works... and won't be surprised when I start rambling again...

After looking at my food intake "on paper", I'm thinking that I do need to eat more. When Jen started this thread, most of you were dealing with an issue like a cheat, or a pause, etc. I have never cheated since my restart on Feb.25 and my losses have been pretty steady, so I don't have that kind of issue. That doesn't mean that I don't have issues, though, and I needed a place to be accountable to with regard to what I eat. I want to make sure that I don't go in the other direction... not eating enough. It's the reason I wanted to be here with y'all.

Liz, that "eat to live vs live to eat" concept is exactly what I have tried to adopt as a lifestyle this time around. I'm sure everyone here has noticed how "anal" and analytical I can be about things. I have tried to harness this quality to work to my advantage, and it has been good. It's been a major factor in my success so far. I just need to make sure that I don't let it get out of hand.

OK - I think that I do need to add protein in the morning. I know that the way that I want to do it won't be popular, but I'll admit it anyway. I want to have an Akins shake in the morning. At the beginning of my restart, I did try replacing a meal a day with either the shake or a bar, sometimes both in one day. I did stall, eliminated them, and immediately started dropping again. So I know "they" can be a staller for me. But I eliminated both at the same time... didn't try just eliminating the bars. I think that the bars have more bullsh*t with them than the shakes. On the shakes, the nutrition facts make sense to me. 6 total carbs - 4 grams fiber = 2 net carbs. The bars have that funny math. So, I want to get a shot of protein in the morning from them. I love them, and they really do fill me up.

OK - life has suddenly called and I've got to run out for a little while. I defintely have more things that I want to talk about, so I guess that I will see y'all later.

BTW - KATHY!!! I love the before/current pics in your siggie. Wow... you don't even look like the same person... amazing.

Mitzi, why don't you look at pure protein isolate instead of the premade Atkins shakes? You can get them from the body building stores or GNC. GNC's brand is sugar free too.

        Thanks Mitzi!

I always love reading your posts. You are very analytical and disciplined. It makes me stop and think I'm maybe being sloppy. So, I've started to be more strict with myself and portion size and even gotten back on FitDay.

Umm, can I ask you something? Do you have ever *potty* problems because of low fiber? Just curious.

                        Hi, Joy

Well, a few reasons... and the first 2 are childish... 1) I don't want to have to "make" anything... I like to grab the can and go... 2) I'm betting that the protein isolate doesn't taste creamy chocolatey like the shakes do. I lean toward the Atkins shakes because the taste appeals to me. The other possible reason depends upon it's nutrition info... how many calories and how much protein are in the isolate? The shake is only 160 calories and 15 gram of protein. I don't need to ingest more than that.

Accountability here did affect my eating today... somehow, dinner got pushed late and I could have very easily just said screw it, because I wasn't starving. But I didn't want to come here with less than a 1000 calories tonight... so thank you.

                        Breakfast - MUP with almonds

Lunch - 2 drumsticks, sugar snap peas, and avocado (yep, the whole thing!)

Dinner - Hamburger patty topped with provolone cheese/cup of mushrooms with a small cucumber
