Re: OWLERS "Stepping Back" thread
Liz, I think that you and I are on some kind of wavelength here.
I have been thinking about this all night and day, too. And now y'all know how my brain works... and won't be surprised when I start rambling again...
After looking at my food intake "on paper", I'm thinking that I do need to eat more. When Jen started this thread, most of you were dealing with an issue like a cheat, or a pause, etc. I have never cheated since my restart on Feb.25 and my losses have been pretty steady, so I don't have that kind of issue. That doesn't mean that I don't have issues, though, and I needed a place to be accountable to with regard to what I eat. I want to make sure that I don't go in the other direction... not eating enough. It's the reason I wanted to be here with y'all.
Liz, that "eat to live vs live to eat" concept is exactly what I have tried to adopt as a lifestyle this time around. I'm sure everyone here has noticed how "anal" and analytical I can be about things. I have tried to harness this quality to work to my advantage, and it has been good. It's been a major factor in my success so far. I just need to make sure that I don't let it get out of hand.
OK - I think that I do need to add protein in the morning. I know that the way that I want to do it won't be popular, but I'll admit it anyway.
I want to have an Akins shake in the morning. At the beginning of my restart, I did try replacing a meal a day with either the shake or a bar, sometimes both in one day. I did stall, eliminated them, and immediately started dropping again. So I know "they" can be a staller for me. But I eliminated both at the same time... didn't try just eliminating the bars. I think that the bars have more bullsh*t with them than the shakes. On the shakes, the nutrition facts make sense to me. 6 total carbs - 4 grams fiber = 2 net carbs. The bars have that funny math. So, I want to get a shot of protein in the morning from them. I love them, and they really do fill me up.
OK - life has suddenly called and I've got to run out for a little while. I defintely have more things that I want to talk about, so I guess that I will see y'all later.
BTW - KATHY!!! I love the before/current pics in your siggie. Wow... you don't even look like the same person... amazing.
