Well, today was another good day !

Breakfast - scrambled eggs with ham and cheese, cup of herbal tea
Lunch- salad of mixed greens, chicken, mozzarella stick, water
Snack - smoked mozzarella and pepperoni, water
Dinner - salad of mixed greens, hamburger, water

Water intake today, so far has been 140 oz.

Calling it a rest day for exercise. Didn't get up in the AM and I'm just too exhausted to do anything now.

I'm planning on the AM to do Turbo Jam 20 minute...wish me luck getting up at 3:45AM to get it done!

LOL! Betsy, I LOVE this! It makes me feel good.

Glenda ~ Awesome job on the 2 great days! Hey, I'm battling 4 extra pounds too. If we stay clean, they will be gone soon. Then, I am considering losing a few more. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it - got to get off those extras, first. I'm glad that you're sticking with it.

Jess ~ Yay! It's good to see you here. You are actually one of the ones who inspired me to start this thread. Your post about where you have been and how you have been doing really got me to thinking... well, committing... I had been thinking about it a while, just not acting on it.

    Joy ~

Elsy ~ Your menu sounds outstanding! And I don't perceive you as negative, amiga. We all have our moments, believe me.

Julie ~ You really have cut back! Were you starving during the day today? And lucky you, for having a cool guy like Geoff to do yoga with you! I'm jealous.

My food choices have been less than stellar today. Daniel is about to get off the bus from school, so I have to run for now. I'll post a summary later.

    See ya!

Inspite of my negativity lately, I'm still doing this because I know it's the right thing to do. I mean it's either that or go back to 265 in a couple of months.

Breakfast: 3 eggs with 1 tbsp of olive oil
Lunch: 2 cups of mixed green salad with 2 slices of turkey breast and 2 tbsp of LC Cesar Dressing
    Snack: 2 slices of Jicama
Dinner: Will be 6 oz of chicken breast fajitas with 1 cup of sauteed onions and green pepper. Oh, and 1 tbsp of sour cream and 1/2 avocado.

Supplements and at least 1.5 gallons of water
    Exercise: We'll see

Betsy, I've never used the sticks, but I've always heard that ketosis is like pregnancy--either you ARE or you AREN'T!

Well, yesterday I still ate quite a bit, but it was less than I've eaten in the past few weeks. I'm gradually cutting back. Today I packed the same amount of food for the day, but instead of yogurt/strawberries/nuts (which is a rarity anyway) I packed more vegetables.

Tonight I'll be doing an hour of yoga with Geoff. I am excited that he's getting back into it!

tuesday morning...I FEEL GOOD...nah nah nah nah nah nah nah, you knew that i would now..so good, so good, i feel GOOD bam bam bam bam BAM!!!!

ok, just trying to pep myself up today. one WHOLE squeaky clean day behind me. i am way too OCD to keep count of the days as i am SURE that would make me TOTALLY insane but one down made me feel good. just proves i CAN do it

i did the SAME workout last night that i ALWAYS do so someone tell me why my BUTT is KILLING me this morning!!! ouchie!

PT, i think chocolate cream might make me upchuck. not sure why. how did you make it? today is a new day!

mitzi...i hear ya on having time but not wanting to do what is in front of you. i am OK with housework but endless paperwork makes me insane. my office is forever on my "to do list."

question for the pros.....i get into ketosis rather easily but NEVER has "the stick" been really dark. i drink buckets of water....i am pretty sure the color is immaterial but i just want some reassurance...ketosis is ketosis, or is it?

hey friends, hope that ALL OF US can stay tightened up and clean today. think of the goals you set for yourself. mine are not all that many. i tried to keep it simple so i don't overwhelm myself...water, exercise, carbs at a level to maintain ketosis......think about yours and remember that you are SO worth that effort. checking back in later with another successful day! (i hope)

Ok I am in. I am highly focused and on day 8 of my comeback. Yesterday I tried, operative word there, TRIED to put on my favorite shorts from last summer, boy were they TIGHT....pissed me off so badly....but I cooled off, and refocused on KETOSIS and getting there...as of last night I was not there, but I attribute that to whipped cream on sunday to offset a picnic.....that does in fact effect the bottom line, yes I USED it to keep from going over the line, but it does effect the bottom line.
I've been MAKING TIME for ADBB more and more now....sometimes I've had to sacrifice to make it happen, but worth it.
I am really re-focusing on my getting my daughter back on track...

Staying simple and conquering one thing at a time works best for me. It's all about ketosis and getting those sticks to turn and training for a triathlon is moving me out on the training circuit again.

LOL... that actually sounds quite good to me right about now. But don't fret, PT - tomorrow is another day!

Q - you're an exercise machine, girl! I need to take a lesson from you.

Betsy - Yay! You got through today, and that is a victory. Hey, I know what you mean about the water. Even though it is the only beverage I allow myself, I still have to make myself do it, and I'm grumbling a lot of the time.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Summary for Day 2 (Monday):

Breakfast: Hamburger patty topped with cheddar cheese

Mini-meal: 4 ounce boneless pork chop with 1 tbsp. mayo; 1 cup of jicama

Mini-Meal: 4 ounce boneless pork chop with 1 tbsp. mayo; 1 serving of sugar snap peas

Dinner: combo beef, chicken, and shrimp fajitas with onion and green bellpepper; 2 tbsp sour cream; 2 tbsp guacamole; 1 ounce shredded cheese

I don't have complete Fitday totals/percentages, because I just don't have the energy to try to figure it out right now. (It's midnight!) I am certain that my net carbs are at or under 30, so I'm cool.

    - Drank 80 ounces of water

    - Took supplements

    - No exercise again today! I'm not crazy about having 2 days off in a row, but Monday's are usually my off day since that's the day I work the longest hours, plus, I am still not well. I had a coughing fit at work today that had the customers asking me if I was all right. Ugh - it's in my chest now, but at least that's the last place I am afflicted when I have a cold. It should be on it's way out. My pledge is to exercise 4 days a week... my week starts on Sunday, and I've had 2 days off already. I've got some catching up to do! I don't think it will be a problem, though. My hours are really light at work for the rest of the week.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Reflections on today:

    - Today went much easier than yesterday. I attribute that to 2 factors: (1) I don't work on Sundays, so I was at home all day yesterday. Today, I left for work at 9:30 and didn't get home until 6:00. Much easier to stay clean when you're cooped up in a place with only the food you bring with you. (2) Maybe eating clean yesterday has already kicked in some appetite suppression? That would be nice.

    - I miss the extra calories as much (maybe more!) than I miss the extra carbs. Portion control is an issue with me... when something tastes good, I have a VERY hard time stopping eating when I'm full, if there is still food left. I don't want to leave any of it... I want to eat it until it's gone.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

As I mentioned earlier, I have very light hours at work for the rest of this week, which means more unstructured time on my hands. I need to make sure I keep busy, so I don't dwell on wanting to eat something. Lord knows, I have about a million things I need to do, so that shouldn't be a problem (except that I HATE housework and paperwork! )

OK...today...I didn't get up in the AM to do my workout...BUT...I did do my workout. I just finished up Turbo Jam 20 minute workout for today.

I only had herbal tea and water to drink today. Food has been on track.

Also, forgot I wanted to add to my list of goals:
    • Take supplements daily
And that was also done today.

I'm hoping that I can sleep after doing this workout. It usually gives me extra energy, that's why I like to do it in the AM before work.

I'll set my alarm again to get up earlier to do the workout in the AM tomorrow.

Tomorrow's another long day for me...working at school and then at the nursing home. Another reason to get the workout in before I leave for the day.

    Hello, Everyone

Whew! Long, long day today. But it's done now, and I get off early from work tomorrow - yay!

Elsy - Induction sucks, doesn't it? I have been putting this off for a long time, and yesterday was brutal, but I'm better today. I'm using 30 net carbs for my limit, rather than 20... I just know from experience that I don't have to go that low to get into ketosis, as long as most of the carbs are veggies. Honestly, I can't believe I ever had trouble getting up to 20 carbs... now I have trouble staying under 30.

Julie! I am so glad that you're here. I sure do understand the portion control issue. In fact, to stop my weight loss after goal, I did it by eating more calories rather than by going over my CCLL in carbs... eating the amount of carbs I needed to, to stop weight loss, was giving me issues. I can't seem to eat many other kinds of carbs besides veggies without cravings and binge issues, and I just don't see myself eating over 50 net veggie carbs a day. So, I have gotten quite used to eating as much as I wanted. Time to stop that!

OK, I've got to go crack the whip over my son and his homework for a while, so I'll check in later with my summary for today. See 'ya!
