    Good Evening, All

Glenda ~ thanks for checking in with such good news. Staying on plan and hitting ketosis! Woo hoo!

Julie ~ glad to hear you're feeling good! Yep, when I see what you eat, it just doesn't look like a heck of a lot of food. Especially for how active you are. Hey, you are a yoga machine lately! I have GOT to order a DVD soon. I've found a couple, it's just a matter of getting them. Oh, and I find it harder on the weekends to stay on plan, too.

PT ~ Yay that the flu was short-lived! Whew! Wouldn't want to deal with that for very long. You'll be back to feeling 100% in no time.

Porcelain ~ CONGRATS on your very excellent test score! You're pretty smart. I guess that you won't be eating more hot wings anytime soon, eh? Although, there have been a few times that I have overeaten something, and sworn off of it, only to succumb again to it the next day.

    Reflections on Today:

    - Another good day. Day 6! Wow

    - I really want to start running again, but am just scared of overheating myself...still coughing and phlegmy. It's so hot and muggy here already. It's been hitting 90 degrees. So wierd to hear that some of you still face the possibility of snow. I do think that I can ride my bike, though, so I need to make the time.

I did well on my test yesterday, I got 147.5 points out of 150 and like a drunk on a "one last binge" I had hot wings last night. It was ridiculous. One good thing though, the smell of them made me sick and when I get like that, I don't want to eat a particular food for a very long time.

Hi all! Yesterday I felt like I barely ate anything, so I guess I *have* been cutting back, ha. I taught 3 hours' worth of yoga yesterday, too (which is why I didn't eat much), so I'm actually feeling really good right now! This weekend should be interesting, that's usually when I eat too much.

TGIF ladies! All is well here with me. Need to work on getting breakfast before going to work as once I get there I have no time to eat. Otherwise food & H20 intake is on target. Used a ketostick yesterday for confirmation & I am in ketosis!!!

    Have a great day everyone!

Just a thought - can you get those heating pads you can 'wear' in USA to help ease pain?

    Good Evening, All

Sherri ~ ewww... sardines. I remember seeing my stepfather eat those when I was a kid. I'm not a big fish fan. It's good that you like them though... pretty easy to prepare, eh? I am a fan of easy!

PT ~ stomach flu?! Yikes - hope it's just the 24 hour variety.

Jess ~ on turning those sticks! And good for you on that productive day. Nice!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    SUMMARY FOR THURSDAY (Day 5)

Breakfast: 2 Hebrew National Beef Franks; 1 whole, large, yellow bellpepper

    Snack: 120g Avocado

Mini-meal: 6 ounces broccoli slaw with mayo

Dinner: Pork tenderloin; 6 ounces of broccoli slaw with mayo

    Evening Snack: 65g jicama

    Fitday Totals:
    1574 calories
29 net carbs (26 of those net veggie carbs)
    64% Fat
    8% Carbs
    28% Protein

    - Drank 96 ounces of water

    - Took Supplements

    - Completed 20 minute Kathy Smith upper body dumbbell workout; completed 20 minute Winsor Pilates workout

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Reflections on today:

    - Must be in ketosis, because on paper it doesn't look like I ate very much and it was bearable. I even made a cake for Barry and Daniel today, and was cool with it.

    - I'm curious about how much I weigh, but I have been good about weighing on Sunday mornings only while I was in OWL and I plan to keep it that way while I'm trying to lose weight. It's not such a big deal to weigh more often when I'm at Maintenance, but while I'm trying to lose it's best to stay away.

    - In a way, I can't believe that I'm at Day 5 already. Yay, me! I remember giving myself a pep talk on Sunday and Monday... "C'mon Mitzi, you can do it...once you get a few days under your belt, it will be easier". Thank goodness, that's true.

Sherri, sorry to hear that your pain index is high. Have you talked with a doctor about whether pushing throught the pain is advisable? I know that in some situations, that is what you do. But in other situations, it is not good. I did some reading about running before trying it, and it advised against pushing through pain. But that's for running... I don't know about for you. Have you talked with doc about it?

    Hello everyone
Thanks Mitzie, I just spoke with my doctor this last tuesday,(more in my journal) and the pain issue was one of the topics. He's advised me that aquatic exercise would be the best choice for me. Unfortunately the closest public pool is about an hour away. So I'll wait for summer to swim in ours. The arthritis in my hips makes them stiffen up when it's cold. That's one of the reasons why I tan first before I hike. It's like a great big heating pad for my joints and It always helps the pain. If I don't move it gets worse. So that's what I mean by pushing through the pain. I can't sit for long or stand for long. My hips are my alarm clock in the morning because the pain wakes me and I have to get up. I'm always moving. My doctor is aware of my exercise and has given me the okay. If I don't continue to move, I won't be able to move some day. So I just do the best I can. Some weeks are better than others. On a good week I hike or gazelle 3-4 days a week. Since it's been cold I've only got one day in this last week. The good news is that it's going to warm up for the weekend. That will help.
So far so good on my food.
Breakfast- 2 eggs scram, herb tea, water.
Lunch- 1 can sardines (I know, but I love them), sliced cucumber, water
Dinner- Speghetti squash, parmesian beef meatballs, salad w/ cucumber, black olives, Vinigar & oil, few strawberries, water.
Water intake is good. Took all my supplements.
    Exercise- still working on that!
    Wishing everyone a great Thursday!
    Sherri

Elsy ~ I think that they are good excuses! Gosh, I remember when Daniel was that young... it was probably the worst shape I was ever in. The fact that you can focus as much as you do, is remarkable. How wonderful that Induction has helped you so much! I am sooo happy to hear that. Keep it up!

Sarah ~ I am fighting a cold right now, myself, so I can relate to how you feel. Don't push it... you'll know what you can do, and when. Keeping your food clean is a great thing, so you are doing well.

Porcelain ~ yay on that exercise! And while using Fitday is not a requirement for success, I do seem to be able to focus better when I make myself do it. Needless to say, I wasn't doing Fitday during the 2 weeks I gained my 4 pounds.

Betsy ~ hope today is less stressful for you.

Hey everyone! Haven't checked in for awhile...going back to the basics is harder then I thought, but I am working on it everyday...My eating has been good and clean, but I need to step up my exercise in a major way...I am in the midst of a cold right now, and once I kick it, I am going to hit the exercise full force..I am just so exhausted right now...
