Re: ~*~ Back To Basics ~*~
Hey Mitzi, I'm so glad you started this thread!
My problem is not falling off the wagon or eating illegal foods--my problem is portion control. Part of that is due to the fact that I'm exercising more and training for a marathon, but even still, I am eating too much. I thought I could eat to feed my hunger, but my hunger is so intense, that I must eat less than I think I need and CERTAINLY less than I want!
I've come to the realization that I've got to get into DIET mode. Weight Loss Mode. I think it was Adena who had posted something about getting back into that mentality that sacrifice is neccessary--up until the past few months, I've never ever had to sacrifice anything (at least FEEL like I'm sacrificing anything) to lose weight.
My Goals:
**Eat less than I think I need of all foods.
**If I am hungry, eat vegetables first.
**Drink more water. (I used to drink 128+ ounces a day, now I probably drink half that, which is no good, since I'm exercising MORE!)
Here's what I've had today:
Breakfast: breakfast wrap (3 eggs, 2 strips bacon, 1/2 tbsp mayo, 1/2 tbsp LC ketchup)
Snack: 1 cup organic wholemilk yogurt with 1 oz. chopped almonds and 6 strawberries
Lunch: 2 oz. roast beef, 1/2 large cucumber, 1 red bell pepper
Snack: 3 cups green beans
Dinner: ?
EXERCISE: Will be 5 miles running...

Re: ~*~ Back To Basics ~*~
Betsy, thanks for the invite to joing this thread. I joined a few days ago.
Well after splurging on nuts and cold meats this weekend, I'm up 2 whole pounds. Again, I am struggling with my weight and with the decision of what to do?
I had been avoiding induction for a long time now. I actually tried in in January but failed ofcourse. It was too darn hard. I guess I'm gonna have to do the inevitable. I'm gonna have to go back.
So today for breakfast I had 2 eggs with 1 tsp of olive oil and 1 tbsp of green salsa.
For lunch I had 2 cups of mixed lettuce, 2 slices of turkey breast, 2 tbsp of 0 carb ceasar dressing.
Snack: 2 slices of Jicama
Dinner will be about 6 oz of pork with 1 cup of broccoli and 2 oz of cheese.
Water: 136 oz by the end of the day.
Excercise? Who knows.

Congrats on a successful day, Q!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK - summary of Day 1 (Sunday) for me:
Brunch: 3 egg scramble with onion and jalapeno, with a sliced tomato on the side
Mini-meal: 2 cups jicama, 1 ounce cheddar cheese
Mini-meal: 4 ounce boneless pork chop with 1 tbsp. mayo
Dinner: 8 ounce hamburger patty topped with provolone cheese; mushrooms sauteed in butter on the side
Fitday Totals:
1665 calories
30 net carbs (22 of those net carbs were net veggie carbs)
64% Fat
8% Carbs
28% Protein
- Drank 80 ounces of water
- Took Vitamins
- No exercise
- I just didn't feel well enough today. Maybe I will be able to breathe through my nose tomorrow.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reflections on today:
- I thought that it was hard. I missed the foods that I used to add Splenda to.
- I wanted more food. I didn't eat more, though, because protion control can be a problem for me at times.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a long work day tomorrow, and no computer access when I am at work, so it will be tomorrow evening before I am able to check in here. I hope that all of you have a great Monday. Be strong!

Re: ~*~ Back To Basics ~*~
No problem posting the recipe. It is very easy to make.
Well, I exercised today
! Yes, I did!!! I did Slim and Limber...I know, not the most heart pounding SI6 portion, but I needed to do some stretching and I'm glad I did. I've lost a lot of flexibility since not exercising for a while. I do feel really good though!
Tomorrow AM I'm thinking of Turbo Jam 20 Minute workout. I've already put it into the DVD drive on the computer so it's ready to roll in the AM.
Water intake has been good...food has been good...and I can actually say, exercise has been good
for today!
Have a great night!
