I will add more and more salad vegies as I progress, at some point I will be at 20g at that point I will move into OWL, but for now I will remain at my induction levels.

    actually once you exceed the 3 cups limit for salad vegies you are in OWL rung 1 no matter how low you are eating your total net carbs. You can squat on rung one and add multiply sets of 5 net carbs of those yummy induction veggies or you can progress up to the next rung frsh dairy after you are comfortable with how your body is handling that more then 3 cups of the legal veggies.

        F/60 yrs/5ft 5.5" (Though due to collapsing vertebrae I am now only 5'3" - but I refuse to recalculate my BMI )

          Mutantmom. it sounds to me like you have developed an Atkins-friendly plan you are comfortable with. Good for you! As you have seen, OWL is lots fuzzier than Induction because this is where you customize the plan to fit your own needs and tastes. You have done a great job of educating yourself from the books so you have the tools to do that. That's also why you get so much apparently conflicting information as to what is "right". Just focus on the fact that OWL is done baby steps so one wrong choice is not a disaster - you just back up and take another path.

            so change your phase from 14 day induction to OWL rung 1 and enjoy your veggies. but do keep reading the book so you understand why Dr Atkins says what he says. if you can find the reference articles that helps even more.
