Well I'm 5'8"... started at 174, I'm 160 now but still feel overweight. My goal was initially 135 but if I feel comfortable before then, I'll be happy to call it goal.

Hi Kittie! (I usually go by Kitty or Kat)...nice to meet another Kat!!

          You're doing so well too!

Yes, by all means, you can't go by everything you read because if you workout and have more muscle than the average person your height, you will weigh more, yet look smaller. So, it is good to have something to shoot for, but in the end go by how you feel.

          Welcome aboard!

            Jayare012 and Kittie,

If you haven't seen the challenge yet, we have a cheat-free thread started. So, if you'd like to join, click here:
            http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32341

We also put up a water thread each day to help us get our water in. Just look for someone starting a thread something like, "Friday Water" if you'd like to jump in and post your water goals for the day. (You should find it if you click on "New Posts" above.)

            Happy Low-Carbing!!

Hey everyone... still doing "ok" over here. I had too many lc treats last night... couldn't sleep and got "hungry"! I'm starting a challenge this week on another board, doing a few days of meat & eggs only. (starting on Wed) I'm still cheat-free though. I just need to get portions under control. I get bored and use food to fill up time instead of doing something that's good for me! I have actually been working a lot but not necessarily busy. I have had zero time to get to the gym, although I did go buy a bike helmet so I can begin riding my bicycle more. I will feel much safer on the road now! I'm going to try to bike to work as much as possible.

OK, I have a book calling my name.... reading sounds better than eating right??

                  Howdy!

I hope everyone is doing well.

I've crossed over to the Dairy Rung and find it interesting so far. Where is everyone else?

Going up the rungs of OWL seems like an adventure and I'm excited to see what happens along the way.

Hope you are having a successful day!

                        Hi everyone!

Just thought I'd come post in here tonight...

I set my first mini-goal at 25 pounds and am not very close yet (sigh)...that will bring me to 255 (yes, I let myself get that high). Sometimes the journey seems so long...

But, on the brighter side, if I stick with this WOE, cheat-free, and not give up this time, I WILL hit my mini-goal! I'm going to set my second mini-goal at another 25 pounds and then post a before and after picture. Surely I will look like I lost weight by then!!

Once I get below that I will be singing celebrations! I wish we all lived closer together and could have a nice, low-carb party to celebrate every time someone hits a mini-goal or goal. That would be cool!

How is everyone else out there doing? How many sizes have you gone down since starting Atkins? What is the lowest size you've reached? (What was your highest size? Mine: 24)

If you get a chance, please stop by and say "hi".

Kat: I really wish I had some lc buddies in my area too! I have 1 friend who's off-and-on. We used to walk together all the time, about 5x a week. But that was before I met my dh and got married. Now I'm busy, and so is my friend! My first goal when I started Atkins was to lose 30lbs or so (from 240) in an effort to fit in all my clothes. Well I did so well on it that I stuck with it much longer than that! My highest size was about a 20 (and believe it or not I could still kid myself that I was a 14!) and so far the lowest size I've been able to fit into was a 6 when I dropped just below 160lbs. My goal weight is 150 and a size 4/6 on my 5'7 body. the last year has been a real roller coaster, after getting married, going back to school, quitting smoking, etc, etc. It's a wonder I haven't gained more weight than what I have! I consider 10lbs gain after quitting smoking quite alright, but it's time to get it together and stop flip-flopping back and forth. It's time to keep it off for good! My birthday is coming soon and I need to renew my driver's license. I hope to be able to put my honest-to-god goal weight on that booger, along with the other changes I need to make.

                            Hey Ruth!!

Too bad there weren't Atkins groups like they have for OA and WW...that would be fun to meet once a week, every other week or at least once a month.

Hey, since you've lost SO MUCH have you posted any "before" and "after" pictures? If not, please do!!

Wow! You are REALLY small!!! When I was 160 pounds I was inbetween 14 and 16. I can't even imagine being in a size 6!!!! That's is so wonderful for you! I bet you love it!! (Isn't it funny how we can all be the same height, yet wear such different sizes?)

It is exciting that you are so close to your goal!!

                                Hey girlie!

                                Welcome to the 5'7" thread.

I started it a while back just to see what everyone's goals were and how they were doing since we're all the same size and should be pretty close on where we want to go with this.

It surprises me how much size difference there is between ladies who are exactly the same height.

How 'bout you? What size to you plan to be when you hit goal? What size were you and where are you now?

                                Thanks for popping in!
