Re: Week of December 10 Atkinites!!

Yea.. I LOVE watching movies, and I used to do the same thing.. pop-corn, pizza, soda, ice cream, subs, burgers, hotdogs.. you name it.. To me watching movies meant eating more crab!! I guess the cravings you had are mostly what the psychologists call (I think) "action by association". Most likely these all are false and psychological cravings and only associated with the action "watching movies".. They usually fade fast..

Dining out has never been a problem to me, as long as you pick the right restaurant. A steak house, grill or a seafood restaurant usually are the best kind of restaurant to pick from. You can easily customize your platter the way you like to have it. Good luck there, and always remember what Dr. Atkins said "One cheat and you're back to a glucose-burning metabolism. You can lose the effects of two or three days of fat burning with one cheat" (Page 200 of the updated version). Sure indeed, one cheat can knock you out of ketosis; just keep that in mind to be able to maintain all the great work you have already accomplished.

Hopefully we can hear from Richard soon. As for Bekka, I think she is busy with her finals, I am sure we are going to hear from her soon.

Re: Week of December 10 Atkinites!!

The lunch date ended up going well as the place we went had a salad bar so I go that and ordered a plain chicken breast on the side. I probably ate some stuff I shouldn't have (I ate three of the baby corn things and maybe to many olives) but for the most part I survived and that is all that matters. Thanks for the support Einy!

okay i had a bad 3 days. I did not eat on plan. Now they are having a pitchin today and they have all kind of food. Should I just start over after christmas? I am scared if I go completely crazy that I will lose it all together.

I understand how you feel, but I would try to plan food so you can stay mainly on-plan.

Take some 'legal' food so you know you will have something 'allowed' and can fill up on that instead of eating off-plan. If it is a 'do' that you are not expected to take food to just eat something legal beforehand so you can truthfully say 'I am not hungry' and enjoy the company along with a tall glass of water!

Sometimes it takes practice to get things right, so treat each time as another practice and make your plans, and in time you will realise you have been able to stay on-plan for several days!

You know what they say about practice! Practice makes perfect!!

And try not to fall into the 'well I have messed up with that cookie/sweet/whatever so I might as well give up' way of thinking that sabotages us so easily.

If you do 'mess up' make your very next bite 'induction-legal' so you dont slide down that slippery slope into carbage!

              Remember
Failing to plan is planning to fail!

Re: Week of December 10 Atkinites!!

                  Hey guys. =(

I've missed each and everyone of you so very much. I first off want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a major congrats on all your losses. Now, comes my huge letter and I feel like I am a disappointment to myself for the most part and of course a disappointment to you guys. These past two weeks I had been vegging out on everything in site. I don't know what came over myself and I honestly don't know why I couldn't stop myself from doing what I was doing to my own body. I guess it was that hard of a semester that I just needed a break from everything and from life. I feel as if today is my first day where I can actually sit down with myself and think over how things have been the past few weeks. I did pass all my classes with very decent grades and I just recieved my course completion for my EMT class. But do I really, honestly, really want to be unhealthy when I do pass my National and start working as an EMT? No, I don't think so.

I am very hard on myself right now. I know I am a screw up and I know that I am fat and very unhealthy. MY being fat makes me feel like I am an ugly person on the outside and the inside because I am ruining my chances of being a healthy person. I don't like being fat. I hate it. I hate not being able to fit into any clothes that I want to fit into. I want to be skinny, I want to look sexy and I want to look older. I hate my double chin, I hate my tummy, I hate all the fat on my body. Its gross, it makes me look gross and it makes everyone look at me like I am retarded and stupid for being as fat as I am.

So, I made my choice this morning. To **** with eating carbs. I'm going back to this way of life because I know it works for me. I haven't weighed myself and I am afraid of seeing how much I have gained, so I am staying off the scale until I finish my two weeks of induction/OWL. I'm still going to eat more veggies because the fiber intake for my body needs to be high in order for me to be regular.

Yes, you guys may send me messages and yell at me. I know I screwed up and I won't forgive myself for it until I have become stronger and gotten through all my cravings. The next few days will be hard, but I know with enough commitment from my part, I can definatly do it.

And with that. I'm going to start a new thread for this week, okay?

Also, I would like to thank Brian for sending me that message. I read it a couple of days ago, but its been haunting me for the past few days and it finally kicked in....okay, time for restart. =(

Oh heck yes we are going to make it through this!!! I am positive that we can stick with this for the rest of our lives. Yes, there will be a few bumps on the road, which I experienced, but those are the experiences that we learn from the most. Pick yourself up and start anew tomorrow.

As for me, I feel like complete crap right now, sorry to say. I'm excruciatingly tired, my eyes hurt, I have a headache and my legs hurt. Induction flu already? I didn't cheat today. I ate everything that was legal and of course my veggies like I'm supposed to eat. Mmm, menu for today...let me post it for you guys, just to make sure I am keeping updated correctly. =P

                          Breakfast:
                          1 Cup Greenbeans: 8
                          1 Steak
4 T of Garlic Butter (yum)

                          Lunch:
                          1 Salad: 2
                          1 Chicken breast
                          6 shrimp
                          Zuccini- 3

                          Dinner
                          Turkey
                          1/2 Cooked Red Cabbage- 2
                          1 cup salad-1

Total- 16 grams (around something like that I'm sure)

So, I think I did good today. That gives me one day cheatfree. Yay! Starting all over again...sucks! >< But its well worth it.

I hope my headache goes away. Alrighty, new thread now.
