Just caught up reading PAGES, lol, have you all been busy!

      In response:
Hi Elsie, yep, bf is doing great, just low carb. We even went the big carnival in Duluth yesterday, and he didn’t even buy a treat, just snacked on peanuts and cheese stix for dinner, he wouldn’t even eat when we got home because it was midnight. --- Fried pickles?? I will have to try that! (Andie’s House of Mirrors, and Val’s Drool n Slide, LOL!!

Andiepie… loved Skid Row and Cinderella too! LOL! Even met Cinderella backstage once, hehe! You should see THAT pic, I went to the school known for the biggest hair!

Bill! How cool about the garage makeover, I love remodeling!!! Bf and I want to separate the kids’ room into two this summer, paint the kitchen, and add on a porch, but the little boss is quite a handful to take it all on yet! BTW, where were you with your fried green beans and pickle stands when I was at the Carnival yesterday?? I would have been your best customer!!

Thanks Elizellen, for the tips on flour. My mom told me that if you put almonds in the blender and crush them all up, that is what almond flour is made of, didn’t think of that! LOL!

Cori, hang onto that closet of clothes, you WILL get there!!!! And just do your best with the water, if you didn’t get enough one day, get more the next, but then try to really make a conscious effort to get it in, it will really wash all that fat away!! Like Elsie said, it disappears quickly in front of the TV, better than junk food!! I have been to 2 movies and honestly, it wasn’t hard for me to leave the junk alone, not to be mean, but take a look at the peeps buying all the junk in huge oversized containers, they are usually very unfit and it helps me to think to myself that I don’t want to have that extra wt, and to lay off the junk. It is a visual in itself. Also, when I was at the fair yesterday, WFH is up with one of the food stand items being a bucket of fries?? I mean, seriously, like a 2 gallon bucket filled with fries!! Come on, no wonder we are all having wt probs in this country!!

Hi Monie! Congrats on the double time, anyway!!! You are doing so good on the exercise!! Woohoo!!!

Joe!! Wow, you are soooooo close to the 40 pound mark!!! I am holding my breath to see when you hit it!! Way to go!!

Splandrea, hey, at least your car was full of water bottles and not empty fast food wrappers!!! What do you do for work?? I don’t think I have ever read what it is that you do….

K, now that is all responded to… We went on an adventure for the day yesterday, went to the Mighty Thomas Carnival, armed with cheese sticks, LC yogurts, Diet Rites, bottles of water, peanuts, fruit, granola bars for the kids, etc. We did great!!! OMG!! The yogurts were a treat after getting to the dairy rung!!!! Wow, you sure appreciate things after not having them for weeks!

We didn’t order any junk from the food stands, although we could have had pickles on a stick if we really wanted, but were just fine. (I will not deny, however, sniffing my daughters big pretzel while she had me hold it for her though! LOL)

The kids are so envying our WOE lately, especially since bf is eating more fruit and yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. I find myself making his and theirs breakfast together! This am it was cantaloupe slices and soft boiled eggs, they loved it! I must have walked tons of miles yesterday, and the fireworks over lake Superior and the Lift Bridge were gorgeous!!! And you know something?? There are no mosquitoes in Duluth!! What a treat that was!! It was cute, my 5 yo worked hard to win his baby brother a stuffed bear! Baby drooled all thru the fireworks, and really enjoyed looking up at all the rides, he was a doll. The kids were on cloud 9, yep bf had a great idea going there yesterday!!!! It was about 75-85 degrees all day, and still 75 when we left at night. I offered to make some chicken boobies when we got home, but bf said, nope, it was way too late to eat, so we just had some water and went to bed.

I got some new walking shoes after that terrible and painful 3 mile walk, much better!!! I am not weighing in this week, I check almost every morning, and am still up 1-2 from that weekend splurge, and the increased exercise, I‘m sure. But did a quick waist measurement, and am down another ½ inch, so that’s good! I actually felt pretty comfortable in my skin yesterday, for the first time in a long time, and healthy too!! I cannot wait to add fruits!! That cantaloupe I cut up this am smelled so good!! And the kids have been drooling over the strawberries and whipped cream that bf has been making!! They love it!

Glad to hear everyone is staying on track, I am dreading next weekend, Catfish Festival in our town and GYROS!!! I will be weak, I just know it!!! If there is some way to just eat the meat... It will be a challenge!!! Well, as much as I would love to get out on a lake today, I better hit the books, sluffed off all day yesterday, only 3 more weeks of this Anat/Phys class! I go back onto campus on the 21st for the CNA, am looking forward to it but not to spending the gas money. Well, I hope Tomorrow checks in soon with good news!!! Have a great rest of the weekend all!!!

Hello! I'm new to this, so I hope I don't sound too geeky!

I got up early the last 2 days and did my 2 mile walk. I feel so much better when I do my exercise in the morning. My head seems clearer and I have a lot more energy. Thanks goodness for the 6-week exercise challenge. It has really motivated me. And I am 5 days cheat-free (darn the birthday cake!).

Hello -- have to go to work in an hour (not looking foward to it!) So maybe I'll check in again late tonight. We celebrated the 4th yesterday by buying lobsters and steamers -- they were amazing.

Thanks, Val, for the visual lol. I'm going to be cautious about going to the movies and when I do I'lll bring lots of water and drink it in there..

Welcome, Treece, I've seen you on the 6wec threads, keep up the good work! Glad to have you on board!

Hey Look! A new buddy!! Welcome Treece. Wow..you are doing well. Only 19 more pounds to go. Are you climbing the rungs??

Hey Joe....quit teasing us. Did you step on the scale anyway?

Bill...Weigh to go on the 2 pounds! Tell the dog his I hide his treat under the front porch rug. Tell DW she is doing great and good for her for making it through induction. I think I saw her in Walmart buying a choke chain for ya! LOL! I never tried Farmer's cheese. But I am a BIG fan of ricotta now. DS likes swiss cheese...which surprised me as it is a stronger tasting cheese and his tasted run more bland. I'm not even going to get them to try the ricotta 'cause I don't wanna share...LOL!

Splandrea...it's okay girl...you can do it! I go over too some days I am sure. But then some days am way under. It evens out unless you are going nuts.

Val...I am so glad to hear BF is doing so well. WHEW....drinking damage is undone!!! AND another 1/2 inch...that is 1/2 inch closer to fitting into those scrubs! I am so proud of you for sticking with it and not giving up. And up a % in class too...you are a force to be reckoned with. You are very strong and motivated. So many people would have given up. You rock! I've PM'd Tomorrow twice and no reply. I am hoping it has something to do with the move and not that we have lost her.

Okay..gotta go...DS is anxious to get on and play his games as he is only allowed until noon and let me get on during his time...later....

Thanks Elsie!!! It is crazy, but at the fair yesterday, the image of my white scrubs hanging on the side of my china hutch as my inspiration, kept popping into my head, reminding me to stay on track, it was not too hard!!!

I hope Tomorrow is on soon! I really hope she is sticking to plan!!

Hey, here's what I am making for dinner, well, along with dinner, for meals tomorrow and such. Dinner will be my own gr beef stroganoff over french cut green beans as noodles!! Mmmm. But this is from Linda's site and I plan to just use half the cheese:

                CABBAGE ROLL PIE
                1 pound ground beef
                1 stalk celery, minced
                2 tablespoon onion, chopped
3-4 cups cabbage, chopped, about 8 ounces
                2 tablespoon butter
8 small mushrooms, chopped, 3 ounces
                Salt, to taste
                1/2 teaspoon pepper
                Garlic powder, to taste
                1 cup chicken broth
                3/4 cup heavy cream
8 ounce cheddar or Monterey jack cheese, shredded
                2 eggs, beaten
Brown the hamburger, celery and onion in a very large nonstick skillet; drain the fat. Add the cabbage and butter; cook until the cabbage starts to wilt. Add the mushrooms and cook until the cabbage and mushrooms are very soft and start to brown slightly. Season with pepper, salt and garlic powder to taste. Add the broth and cream; bring to boil and cook on high, stirring occasionally, until reduced and thickened. Watch closely so it doesn't boil over or evaporate completely. Stir in the cheese, then the beaten eggs. Pour into a greased 10-inch pie plate. Bake at 350º for 25-30 minutes until set.
                Makes 6-8 servings

Hey everyone, been a little MIA from the buddy list. Things are going alright. I've been struggling food wise. Not super bad but bad enough. My working out has been great. Been strength training, walking, and doing the C25k. I'm also drinking a ton of water. So those may be the reasons why I'm not gaining from my bad food choices. I need to realize though that my metabolism isn't like it was when I was in High School. I need to not just excercise but watch what I eat!

When I re-started again in May my mind was in the right place. I never gave into temptation. Why am I so weak all of a sudden? I almost hate posting on this site sometimes because I know I'm not following the WOL. I definately don't like to give advice because it would make me such a hypocrite! How do I get back in the game? Argh!

Alright I'm done venting! I hope everyone is well.

Maybe weak because you cheated a little and got away with it by not gaining? Making you a little bit more relaxed about it. Or by not spending enough time on the board when you need too. Or maybe you are feeling a bit too comfortable where you are right now. Feeling good about the 16 pounds down and looking so much better. Or avoiding your buddy list? It is better to get on here and help others even if you are going through a hard time. It can help you get back on track. So many reasons. Get back on the boards and help others and ask for help. You could be the difference for someone else struggling.

Thanks for the welcome! I've added veggies, nuts, berries and some other fruits, but had trouble with the dairy rung and kinda gave up on it. I take a multi and a separate calcium supplement w/D to even things out.

I'm not very good at giving advice IrishMom82, but I went through the same thing with exercise. I felt like I was going to give up the whole WOL because I couldn't get myself to exercise. I don't know what came over me, but I can’t completely shake it. I joined one of the challenges and I am doing better now w/exercise. But today I almost bought a huge tub of cookie dough "for the kids". Ha! I would have eaten it right out of the container. I feel like some days it is such a struggle to keep going and yet I enjoy the food I am eating and the new body I've developed over the last 4 months. I'm thinking about going to a counselor to see why I am trying to sabotage myself.

By the way, what is a tag?

I don't think you are sabotaging yourself! I buy things for the kids too, but I have only been doing this 3 weeks, and I have no problem leaving them alone. And, OMG are YOU ever an inspiration to ME!!! You are doing so welll!!!! Look at where you are, I would love to be at 164!! That is amazing!! I was thinking of shirking my challenge duty till I checked in here too, but now I am feeling like I have to go for that hour walk, although I will be grumbling all the way!!
