    Re: Buddy List July 14-20

Hey all - just checking in.

Val - good luck with the studies. Sounds like a lot of work. Is that an online course?

Bill - I like your new exercise routine. How many balloon animal reps a day would you suggest? I'm going for tone, not bulk!

    Stay strong!

        Re: Buddy List July 14-20

        Hi everyone!

Two things, 1 I'm starting induction again today. I've been off plan for...too long. Gained back my 20lb loss and am motivated to commit long term. I've realized that support for this WOE is not going to come from my friends and family, and I do best when I have 'buddies' to help me stay accountable and motivated. I just had a check up with my doctor and I'm in perfect health except for the weight. I have a goal of losing 100lbs and my doctor told me that I should consider lap band surgery since that's such a large goal. ARGH! I DONT want to do that. I am young and active and want to feel the confidence of doing this through exercise, eating right, and self control. So I'm back on this board looking for connections!

        2. My family and I are going to an amusement park this weekend. I've never gone somewhere like that and stayed on plan. I usually end up blowing at least one meal while we're at the food court. Does anyone have any recommendations?

btw- my goals for the week are to stay on induction cleanly, exercise 4 days (starting tomorrow morning) and get my self to bed before 10pm so I have energy and don't need the morning caffeine of a starbucks!

Hi - I think you'll find the support you're looking for with this group. I've just been here a short time and they've already made me feel at home (thanks guys!).

If I was going to an amusement park I'd eat a big, legal, breakfast, then for lunch try to find a salad. Failing that, I'd default to having a hot dog (no bun of course).

Have a good time and stay strong!

Welcome turtle! I agree with Mike. Have a iog breakfast and then if you can't find a salad have a hamburger or hot dog without the bun. Also bring a big bottle of water with you. Good luck!

            I did some abs today.

              Re: Buddy List July 14-20

HI! I have been really busy this week and this past weekend. Oh as far as hubby's show last Saturday, it went beautiful! We thought that this was only a temporary gig just for this month and next. But they asked him to stay on as the bassist and to sing harmony! He was so happy he almost cried. His music is his outlet and he loves it. He needs his music. Plus the place they play at is a great place with great regulars. So I am happy for him. Oh and I get in free cause I am with the band..lol I always wanted to say that.

I am doing well but Saturday night made me feel really bad about myself. I felt like I was the biggest girl there. I just felt enormous! Hubby said I looked beautiful but that didnt help. He looks at me that way cause he loves me. And even though I appreciate that it doesnt help. Anyone know what I mean? But I am gonna keep truckin on, it HAS to get better. Doesnt it???

On a good note..MY LIL MAN IS HOME!!!!! I missed him so.

I know how you feel Andie. A lot of my friends are smaller than me and also a lot shorter so sometimes when I go out with them I just feel like this giant amazon woman. Keep your chin up! You'll get there.

I COMPLETELY hear you on the 'biggest girl here' thing. And my DH says the same thing; that I'm beautiful and sexy. And I know that should matter most, but he's a football coach and his players are young and in shape and would never look at a woman like me to date - and I'm embarrassed for my husband. I want to be someone he's proud of being with in front of these guys. Its not logical, not rational, not very healthy, but I can't pretend its not part of my motivation.

On the other hand I like to tell myself all of my accomplishments and acknowledge that I'm working on my figure. I know I've got lots to offer that is way more than skin deep and in time my outside will match the beauty within. My husband will be envied then!!! And yours will be too! That's what I tell myself to get over that particular hurdle.

I totally know how you feel Andie! I work in television so of course all my co-workers who work on camera are super hot. I work behind the camera so I don't have to look good. It's tought trying to go out with them at night when in pictures you're three times the size of each of them..Heck I could sit on them and kill 'em, but I won't cause they're my friends, lol. It's also hard cause when I go out with the girls, I am of course the "DUFF" - "Designated Ugly Fat Friend".

Oh well, I'm working on it now and starting to get back to my old self and that's a motivator right there!

                      Re: Buddy List July 14-20

Hey all, just got back from the 4 HOUR appointment for baby, he meets with the neonatologist and team every 4 months. Found out why he is so crabby…. He is 10 months, but was 3 months early, so socially and mentally, he is 10 months, but his physical aspect is lagging, so he gets frustrated with his body for not doing what he wants it to. For example, he can’t even pick up a cheerio yet, unless he uses his whole fist. So we gotta take him to PT, that’s ok though, it will help him to learn to crawl and get his fine motor skills on. Which means much less crankiness for him!! And me!! Whew, next time I leave my 5 and 6 yr olds home though!!

Yes, Mike, it is an online Anat/Phys class, I am going to become an RN in 2 years, just starting back, what a mistake to take THIS class online!! It is officially over on the 25th, can’t wait!!!

Welcome Turtle!!! Andie!! Nice to see you here again!! So cool that you are with the band, lol!! I am sure you will get a hancle on things and be feeling sexy in no time!!! And Irish, you sure are on your way, 18 down is nothing to sneeze at!

Hehe, I am trying to pull a fast one on the kids, they want to go out and play with the neighbors really badly but are veggie-phobic, which I am getting really sick of. I made cabbage pie for dinner and gave them each a helping and some cottage cheese when they told me how great it smelled!! Hehe, will see if they eat it, so far they are picking at it, “is that MUSHROOMS in there?” lol!!!

Val - that is interesting about your son. Who would have thought? Hope the PT goes well.

I just made the cauliflower pizza finally. Oh my God! Amazing! I couldn't believe how well it came out and how tasty it was. I was expecting a big mess but it held together so well. The thought of never eating pizza again when you live in New York is pretty depressing but now I can still have it. Yay!

Hey Vanessa! I made the cauli pizza last week, and it was a hit!! Like Elsie said, I think I will make it in a frying pan next time though, cook both sides.

Yeah, makes sense about the baby, it will really help us deal with him and understand him better. PT should be easy after all we went thru with him to get him here and after he was born, brought home, etc. He is actually growing up pretty quickly!

Well, the kids didn't HATE dinner, and they ate it all before going out to play!! They actually said it was ok. WOW! I decided that the way I am eating is more healthy and that it won't hurt them to have a meal with me once in awhile! I still can't believe they ate it!! LOL

A warm welcome to a new Buddy!!!
Turtle--your commitment and your motivation and goals are so welcome here! and we will help keep you inspired and on coarse as best we can.
I started 5 weeks ago and now my wife is here and our daughter is here also--they are both on their 9th day of induction....
We went to the state fair last weekend--a place where we used to eat every second of the 2 day event---this time we packed our lunch..pulled up a picnic bench and enjoyed and congratulated ourselves! then of coarse we set fire to the fried twinkee stand and the fried dough and funnel cake stand.

It stinks to be the biggest gal in the room. But look at it this way--soon you won't be and you will never have to be again.

It could be worse--I have a whole country of people smaller than I am. Seems like everyone in southern China is a size 0 or 2--even the men! I feel like an Amazon every single day. (sigh) LOL

hey buddies!!!!! had a pretty good day today for the most part. started out kinda rocky though, my basset hound is having some trouble with allergies, and had to take her to the vet this morning. missed a couple hours of work, but i think she will be ok. looks like she might have an absessed tooth on top of the allergies, or maybe because of them. she will be ok though, just gotta get some antibiotics in her. she looks so pitiful though (as if she needs any help looking pitiful since she's a basset hound), one whole side of her face is all swollen.

on the bright side of things, i'm doing very well with my food, and exercise. i got my 15 mins of weight workout done today. i did 2 sets of 10 on each exercise, and so far have done 65 squats today too.

welcome to our new buddy nturtle, you found a great group of people to draw support and encouragement from. there's even a little comic relief thrown in here and there just to break up the monotiny. i wish you much success.

gotta go, Dh & i are getting ready to watch "After The Catch". we so love those crab fishing shows from discovery channel. can't seem to get enough of them.

have a great night & a better tomorrow
