Yay, I see new buddies, welcome all!! Yay for staying strong at the movies Cori, good job!! WTG on the exercise Monie and Bill, I still have to get fully on that wagon, but still trying to finish up this class, all assignments are done, and 3 tests to go!! Bill, I hope you do hit the 30 pound mark!! vanessa, I doubt one beer will hurt ya, don't worry!!

I am down 14 pounds total, I must be back to losing now, I am so relieved. Made some yummy stuff today, I made the pumpkin custard with whepped cream on top, just like pumpkin pie, minus the crust. Also made fried tuna cakes and stuffed peppers, and cheeseburger casserole yesterday. BF is glad to be back on track too. He has been freezing bottles of water to bring in the cooler as ice packs, so I think he plans to bring food this week, so I may have to make the broccoli bacon crunch salad he likes and other stuff.

Yeah, sickening how he still loses when only halfway on plan, huh??

Ok, gotta read one more chapter, hope everyone is doing good!!

thanks for the congrats everyone, maybe someday when I go to the movies I'll be brave enough to try out diet soda and see how it goes for me.

Sorry I haven't been checking in a lot also, lots of work occupying my time lately, although I have been sticking to plan, with room for improvement in the water and exercise department.

Keep up the good work friends and I promise to become more involved in the community again, having let it slide for a few days.

Tomorrow marks the end of my third week on the diet, have yet to decide if I will weigh and measure in or wait another week. I'll be back tomorrow, sleep tight all!

Hi everyone, another hot one here in Ohio. Used to hate it but sweating away the pounds is working for me Just picked up an old Billy Banks Taebo 8 minute work out tape. Watched it through, did not use it yet. Looks like something i could do at my pace. Plan on using it when it rains and i can not walk. Started walkiing and 20 minutes was killer. Now i am doing 40 minutes at a pretty quick pace. This WOL is really wonderful. Hope you all have a great Sunday.

LOL Bill, I DO have these ankle weights.....

I told BF tonight that I am going to lose more than him this week, nynah nynah nynah, I could tell it got his competitive side going. LOL! I told him it is because I am going to work out every day this week starting tomorrow, and continue eating right while he is still ordering burgers on the road, hehe! I am using reverse psychology and he knows it, but he hates to be beat! We'll see how it works!

f4n, I love the Taebo tapes, I have a 3 disk set that I am going to do this week, they are so much fun! It is a good idea to watch them first though. They are a challenge, but at the same time, not too hard to follow like some vids with fancy footwork, I end up giving up on them!! Well off to bed so I can get up and do my workout!!!

I hope everyone gets up and starts their week with exercise and the will to lose a few more pounds!!!

Thank you all for the nice welcome I want to welcome the new and say a big hello to the not so new

Bill.. in regards to if my hubby is joining me not by his choice LOL but I figure as long as the food I'm making tastes good enough for him to love, then he'll be on it alot with me and not even notice. haha Well I can always dream can't I? So far he's absolutely loved the shrimp I made and the omelette, which makes me feel very awesome inside cause I've never in my life cooked shrimp till 2 days ago! He said I made it then and tonight better than he's ever made it! That says alot, since he's a pretty good cook. I need to add.. my other half isn't over-weight. His support and encouragement means the world to me and then some!

Tonight we went to friend's for a BBQ.. OMG.. talk about being faced with so many temptations so soon on Atkins! I was surrounded by boiled potatoes, carrots, and things like garlic bread! Mmmmmm.. I just invision placing it right onto my hips or butt, etc.. laugh and get over it! I had steak with spice on it, shrimp fried in butter and garlic, 1/4 sliced cucumber (if that) and 6-9 mini baby pickles.. ohh and of course water! (while they drank Budweiser) All in all I think I did pretty good.

I want to encourage all of you that have found some form of excercise to do and are doing it, no matter to what level as a lil is better than none at all! I wish I could get into doing something.. anything.. I'm just not there yet. I am considering the step challenge (if that's what it's called?) It sounds like something I could do.

Well I hope everyone had a great Saturday, and that you may have an even better Sunday!

                    Re: Buddy List July 14-20

Morning all - today's my official weigh in day and ..... I'm down 6! Wasn't expecting to keep losing like this after the first 2 weeks. Thought 2 lbs in a week would be great.

My goal for the upcoming week is to walk 3-4 miles, and to stay off the scales until next Sunday. I really got carried away this last week - was weighing all the time.

Sassy - way to stay strong at the BBQ!

Bekka - welcome to the group!

Hope everyone has a good day.

EGADS Val...no 6 kids for me. I stopped at 2, a boy and a girl. Try spaghetti squash. It is good. Congrats on the inches lost!

Andie...glad to hear you are feeling better.

                      Cori...how are you feeling??

Mike...Sorry to hear about your stumble. Glad to hear that you learned it was not worth it. Now it will not happen again...RIGHT!?? Pick yourself up and get right back on track right away. So long as you do not use it as an excuse to continue eating illegal..you know...well I may as well eat whatever I want all day and start again tomorrow...that is not good. Getting back on track right away is.

Mike.. way to go on the 6lb loss!!! Keep up the fantastic job! You're doing great! I'm sure you'll meet your goal as well.

I know what you mean though about weighing yourself on a daily basis, cause even though I know not to do it. . I have been! However I also know in my mind not to count any of it till day 7. I was at a 5lb loss after day one of induction, and according to the scale I'm still holding off that same 5lbs. We shall see. . today is day 4 for me on induction and my TOM is due today or anytime soon. . I know that in itself has been reason enough for me to gain as much as 7lbs! ~yikes~

Thanks for the pat on the back over the BBQ. Have a fantastic day Mike.

                          Vanessa...how was the show??

                          Bill....great support post.

Mike...my tastes buds changed too after being on Atkins for a while...a lot of things did not taste as good as I remembered them. I think you learned a valuable lesson and I am glad you learned it with a cookie and a couple of diet coke. You know it could have been much worse. You are doing great by getting right back on plan and you are sooo close to your goal I know you can make it!

f4n..interesting about the tomatoes. May be worth looking into a bit further before writing them off though. Looking into how many calories you are eating with it. I THINK the one in the induction recipe thread is about 300ish cal...but by the time I add on a dollop of sour cream and some parmesan cheese we are getting up there. Plus if I have more than 1 cup of it. So anyway..it could be more that kind of thing. Just a thought.

Monie...thanks for the bump on that thread. I really want to keep it going as I think it will be helpful to the newbies but haven't tried anything new to add to it lately.

Mike...way to go on knowing that the movies are not a place for you to be right now and not putting yourself in a situation where you may be tempted to eat off plan. You really are going to succeed!

                            Mike....LOL....the buddy bunch!!

Bekka....welcome...thanks for climbing aboard our ship...LOL! We can be a talkative bunch here that is for sure. I will bug you about the rungs later...LOL...it is just what I do. Congrats on the weight lost. Great job!

Val...14 pounds down!!! Yippee!! Val...don't listen to Bill...don't sew weights into BF pants...that will probably just make him lose faster...LOL...not that we don't wish him the best BUT....LOLOL! No, really, he is doing great. He can be our guy we love to hate guy...LOL!

Oh darn it..the washing machine buzzer just went off...that is going to get everyone up and moving!

Cori...there is no rule that says you have to weigh or measure...if you don't want to or don't feel ready for it then put it off another week. Some people never weigh at all. Of course we are all curious but we won't kick you out or anything.....LOL!

f4n....way to go on the walking. Already up to 40 minutes. That is great.

Sassy...so great that DH is supporting you! Awesome job at the BBQ!!!! We...or really I should say Monie..just came up with the exercise challenge this week. I imagine we will continue it on next week. You can pick anything you want. Even start out small...and it will get easier. Then the next week you can challenge yourself a bit more. I didn't join this week because of company...but will be doing SOMETHING next week. I am thinking maybe up and down my stairs a certain number of times or something like that because I know it will kill my knees in the beginning but by the end of the week they will be better...anyway...that is what I am leaning towards. I am sure you can come up with something if you want.

Mike...weigh to go on the 6 pounds down!!! Great job!

good afternoon buddies. i'm feeling great today. got my final 15 mins weight workout done for our buddy exercise challenge this week. hope everyone else was able to keep up with our little challenge. i felt kinda guilty waiting till the last minute to get it done, but glad it's done. even though my arms feel like jello right now, it was a good workout. i will try to keep it up atleast once a week.

welcome to our new buddies bekka and ~sassy1~!!! you will find the people in this group to be very friendly, supportive, and encouraging.

i tried a product last night that was absolutely amazing and want to recommend it to everyone. it was a "HEBREW NATIONAL" food product. i've tried their hot dogs, and they are very good. last night though, i bought some of their sauerkraut, and it was absolutely amazing. i made it with smoked sausage and it was sooooooo gooooood!!!! just wanted to let you all know so that if you like that type of stuff that you could try it. i know sauerkraut is not for everyone, but DH and myself love it.

hope everyone has a great day!!!!!

Hi everyone, thanks for making me feel better about the beer. I jut realized Friday was my two month Atkins anniversary. I didn't expect to last this long when I started but now I couldn't imagine living any other way. Yay for Atkins! In unrelated news I saw The Dark Knight on Friday and it was absolutely fantastic. I thought the last was was great and this one just blew it out of the water - best comic book movie ever made.
