Re: Buddy List August 4-10
Good Morning and thanks for the warm welcome to the buddy list. I really appreciate it!
Now, for a question: About 6 weeks before starting Atkins, my hubby and I started bike riding. In the start I could not ride up my driveway, but quickly worked up to going 8 miles a day. (5 days a week) I had a few days of the induction flu the third day in last week, but that went away. But the lasting side effect I am still noticing is bouts of extreme weakness, especially during bike riding. Hills I could easily ride up before without stopping, I can no longer even get halfway up without just losing my strength. My legs just go weak. I've found this around the house too. Folding laundry the other day, I got halfway through a load, and my arms just went quivery weak.
Other than being 25 lbs overweight, I'm in excellent health, I don't take any medications, have always been active, and I am taking a daily multivitamin. Is it normal to have this happen during induction? I'm assuming it is, but I'm in the second week, and still having issues with weakness. Just want to make sure it's not something out of the ordinary! Other than that I'm feeling great. Should I cut back on the intensity/duration of excersize while on induction? Jen

I find myself doing just what Mike was doing..wanting something sweet. I think it has to do with all the salty foods I eat (ie, bacon, cheese, pepperoni, etc) and my old habits was to grab something sweet instantly afterwards. I have fended it off for the most part...thank goodness!
