Fitday sometimes adds extra ingredients to its calulcations for things like scrambled eggs, like milk or margarine etc.

I usually add the eggs as 'raw' and whatever size of egg I used then add any butter or cream as separate items to get a more accurate number.

Likewise, the ground beef patties might have extra ingredients, or be for a different amount of meat than what you ate.

You can get others to look at your actual fitday list by clicking on the 'home' tab once logged into your fitday account and scrolling down to the button at the bottom called 'make my journal public'.

It will give you a url that you can post here (some people add it to their signature block to save having to repeat it in another post) and then members can see the amounts and spot if you have selected the right entry.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

        Re: Buddy List August 4-10

Thank you ladies (E & E, haha) so much for the info and help. Fitday confuses me with all of the options! I'm sure, like this diet, it will become easier as it goes.

I read many chapters in the book last night and completed my first completely clean day of induction (NO TORTILLAS!) yesterday. I am very excited to find out when I am in ketosis, but my mom tested this morning and she wasn't so I'm holding off until tommorow.

I'm loving the diet. Day 4 and I don't feel deprived what so ever. I almost feel like I'm going to gain weight (don't worry -- not gorging! LOL) just because I've never been on an Induction style diet where I haven't felt sluggish and starving. I love it. SOOO excited for 2 weeks to fly by and to see if I've lost weight. Forgot to get my PT to do my measurements and weight yesterday so that's my goal today! I was proud of myself for going to the gym for class though as I almost didn't and opted for a nap LOL.

Welcome, Dream!!! That's so cool you have a BF to listen and support you.

Robin, CONGRATS on the loss! I am so proud of you!! Keep up the great work. Getting rid of caffeine might be hard but I can tell you it's totally worth it. Since 8th grade I stopped drinking soda period and I couldn't even imagine how sweet it would taste and jittery it might make me feel now.

HAPPY TGIF EVERYONE!!! STAY STRONG OVER THE WEEKEND!!!

        Yesterday for me....

08/07/08 - Day 3 (really day 1 tho of no tortillas! LOL)
Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, 1 "doughnut" (1g carb?, 3g carb) 4g carbs
Snack: 1 plain hamburger with worsetchire sauce in it 0g carb?
Lunch: Turkey slices wrapped in romaine lettuce, string cheese - 2g carbs
Snack: 1 plain hamburger with worsetcire sauce in it 0g carb
        Dinner: 1 skinless/boneless chicken breast, 1 c. green beans - 2g carbs
        Snack: little bit more chicken

        How did I do?
So I won't hesitate no more, no more

Fabulous job, Smooth! I can only hope to accomplish such great numbers when I'm done with Induction.

Breakfast sounds yummy. Does turkey bacon cook up as well as normal bacon? (I don't like mine too crispy and once my mom made it and it was like SO crisp/gross flavorless etc lol)
So I won't hesitate no more, no more

                Hi guys. Welcome Angela!

                Thanks for that link Bill.

Sounds like you're doing good Brittni but check the label on the worcestershire sauce. I have yet to find any that doesn't have added sugar.

Hope everyone's having a good day.

Scarlet, what-the-effff... I thought worstechire sauce was allowed!?!!??!!!!!!

Oh god. I don't care. No more burgers with worsetchire sauce either then! I'd rather be safe than sorry (again LOL)! Do you think I am going to have restart induction AGAIN tommorow b/c of the burgers?? I'm not getting any other added sugar obviously from my menu you can see that so PLMK!

Just check to see if it has added sugar in the ingredients. If so then I would ditch it but I don't think you need to start over. Try to be in the habit of reading the labels of everything you eat and buy in the future and that way there's no surprises. I put Westbrae Natural Unsweetened Ketchup on my burgers and its very good and induction friendly:

                      Re: Buddy List August 4-10

Will continue to be in habit of reading the labels on everything. We did go grocery shopping and double-checked everything we had bought, however worsetchire sauce we already had at the house and I just must have mistaken another website that said it was allowed. I'll check when I get off work. Today is day 4 overall. I want to be completely clean, however I think even if there is added sugar in the sauce it can't be so much as to completely ruin the 4 days b/c besides that I've been doing good.

Tonight we're cooking up ham, oopsie rolls, etc. for next weeks' lunches. So I'm hoping for better days and even better results! Excited to pee on my stick tommorow, LOL! fingers crossed though. I feel really disappointed/bad when I did something wrong on the diet bcuz I do like to play strictly by the rules. I've been reading the book more and more all day at work today.

I'm not a huge fan of ketchup and I don't use it on burgers period (unless it's from Red Robin or something?) but thanks for the info. Bless your heart.
So I won't hesitate no more, no more

I don't need anything on them. I'm more of a plain food taste anyway. Never have been big on a lot of spices or anything. My mom just typically (before the diet) cooks them up with A1 sauce and worsetchire sauce to make them really juicy and yummy. But plain will be fine.

Elizellen...I do it that way as well...break down the foods into raw items for the most part.

Britini...you did okay but you still need more veggies! 12-15 carbs from your veggies. You can do it! Fitday does get easier. Don't freak out about the W.Sauce...you are doing great...and don't get into the habit of thinking you need to start over for every little mistake. That kind of thinking can lead to a vicious yoyo cycle. Quite a few people who are on extended induction tend to do that. Say they are on extended induction...cheat...more induction...cheat. Better to learn the lesson and move on and climb the rungs and eat lots of great food. I am 44 years old and only now...because of Atkins...discovered ricotta cheese with cream and a touch of splenda (Dairy rung) Man...soooo good! With the right kind of ricotta. You can put mustard or mayo or horse radish etc on your burger...just make sure it is sugar free if you can.

Bill...you're getting there...keep it up. Drink your water.

BigSmooth...weigh to go oin 12.5 pounds. An awesome start!! What are your plans now?

Joe...dance a couple of fast songs for me...been years since I was out dancing.

Well, I'm not deliberately cheating! That's just why I feel like oh gosh I must start over. I never cheat when I'm on a diet and with Atkins there really isn't reason to, you know? That's why I'm like, ohh ok...cut out the tortillas. ohh ok...cut out the worsetchire. But you're right -- I'm just keep in on truckin' ahead. lol. Thank you for the encouragement & teaching me, though, it means a LOT!

I must say -- I love how the book is written. It's very fluid and easy to read with such good information. Prior to this I havent lost any weight (stand still) and I've been very low-fat high excersize even with a personal trainer etc, so to know that even though my thyroid came back that it's fine maybe it does have to do with all the carbs or whatnot.

Going to get my veggies in tonight. I think I'll splurge with an onion. They're my faveee! I had 2 big leafs (1c) of romaine lettuce today so far. So maybe an onion and more green beans or some cucumber. lol. Any suggestions on a high fiber veggie I might like? I don't wanna end up plugged if you know what I mean lol.

                                BOOGIE DOWN JOE!!!!!

P.S. I printed out two of those cute little cards with all the Induction food on them from this forum. I got 'em off Sheila's site. So cute! Putting one on the fridge @ home!!! which i'm going home now....
