I know it is not intentional!! You have more than shown your dedication to this way of eating. Poor Chili!! I find that if I make sure that I have my 3 cups total of veggies and all my water that I seldom have a problem..it is only when I start slacking off on one or the other that things slow down.

I just had some baked ham (nothing on it, made w/ water... was quite salty...) and 1 c. (raw measured) sauted onion for dindin. Only 1 more veggie to go for tonight's goal of 3 since I had 1c. lettuce earlier w/lunch!
So I won't hesitate no more, no more

Doing good Britini. Have you seen this website? Just double check the ingredients...she has tortilla down as induction friendly and they are not. Neither are nuts if you are following her custom salad. When I make the quiches I usually cut the cheese down to 6 oz instead of 8..just for ease of counting the cheese portions during the day...mind you I cut the helpings into 6ths. Anyhow...check it out.

Hey Buddies, hope you all are doing well. I haven't forgotten about you all!! I am ok, I am back to eating balanced, haven't gained, my hair is no longer falling out. Best of all, my blood pressure is back in normal range, after 2 weeks off Atkins. It was up 30 points, systolic after 6 weeks on Atkins, just something for you all to keep in mind if you have those problems down the road... I wish you all good health!

Yupyup, I have that site bookmarked Elsie! Thank you!!

P.S. I made my fitday journal public.

Unfortunately I'm getting overly frustrated with it. Hoping you guys can help with that. Wanted to add my onion (vadalia, 1c raw) sauted but can't figure out how to as well as my 2 eggs scrambled for breakfast and my baked ham (it was those thin slices from the supermarket you can get it and cook up, perfect portions for the 2 of us!) I put 4oz of meat b/c I had 1/2 hamburger with breakfast and then 1 for lunch.

Really want to get the %'s right on this Atkins diet. TIA!

Valerie, wishing you all the best.

              Re: Buddy List August 4-10

Today is my sons 8th birthday. My DH went out last night and purchased all the necessities...and came home with a rather lovely chocolate cake and the letters/numbers to decorate the cake. I know that I would normally gone "Oh my god..chocolate..give it to me.." but as it is, food in general has lost its pizzazz. I don't know if it's because of the Atkins diet or the general mind state that I am in. I think of how many carbs things have and I get all horrified. I know, that if I were to eat one single slice of that cake I would ruin everything I just did. I looked at the package of letters/numbers and I laughed out loud. Four of those things would be 4 carbs. So I told DH about that...he just said,"Well you don't want to ruin your diet over four little letters, right?" I fully agreed. I know what chocolate cake tastes like, I can remember it. I just don't want it.

The only thing that I will have to hold myself back on today is ...Red Robin's awesome french fries!!! I love them so much...but I will persist and order veggies or a salad. I need my strength for the bowling we are doing today!

              Talk to you all later!

Morning Buds - just checking in. My official weigh in isn't until tomorrow but I've been sneak peeking since Wednesday and things are looking really good for this week. Amazing what can happen when you don't cheat!

Robin - Celebrations can be a dangerous time. Congrats on having the right perspective about the birthday cake.

Val - glad to hear you're doing well.

To Britni and all the new buds out there - welcome!

Hope everybody has a good weekend.

Thanks for the welcome Mike!! Goodluck on your weigh in!

Robin, a very Happy Birthday to your son! That is wonderful that DH supports you --and-- your whole attitude towards not needing the cake, etc!! Have a fab day!

Breakfast for me today was 3 turkey sausges and 2 eggs scrambled w/2 pinches of cheddar cheese. I'm proud of myself for the fact I MADE IT MYSELF. lol. Usually mom makes me breakfast but not on weekends. Forgot to do my ketostix so I might give it a go when I have to pee next.

Okay so. I was really tempted to make this Creamy Dream Jello Cheesecake (I believe it's Induction friendly, although I've been avoiding jello due to the artificial sweetener that can stall weight loss) and I decided I was going to just go do a ketostix to occupy some time lol.

WELL, GUESS WHAT?!?! I'M IN KETOSIS!!! My stick (I did it twice b/c the first one I dropped in the toilet LOL) was definitely a plum-ish purple!!!! I figured I wouldn't get a read, even if I was in ketosis, because I typically drink and pee a LOT. So happy I did that!

Hi Val! Glad things are going well! Hope school is too!

Britini...I would enter it as 1 c raw and then enter what I sauteed it in..so say 1T butter. Way to go on making your breakfast. Try for more veggies today.

Robin..you are doing so great! Just a note. Last time I was on Atkins...after I went off...I noticed that my tasted buds had changed and that things didn't taste as good as I remembered them to be. French fries especially. Funny thing is that even after being off Atkins for almost 3 years and they never did get back that taste where you just have to keep eating them.

Mike..so glad that your persistance and hard work has paid off....looking forward to seeing your results tomorrow.

I sat at the table with my children as they ate pancakes and syrup and after I washed the dishes I realized not once did I sit and think about wanting a single bite!!!!!!! YEAH! I never in a million years would have thought I could have no desire for pancakes. Life is truly good

More veggies on the list for tomorrow. We bought some snow peas tonight which we can have 1c. of!!! And I discovered honey mustard induction-friendly dressing. I am loving how there are so many wonderful recipes available. My biggest problem is the veggies though as I'm a super picky eater. No harm in trying though.

                              08/09/08 - Day 5
Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs, 2 pinches of cheddar cheese, 3 turkey sausages
                              Snack/Lunch: 1 c. raw onion sauted, 3 cheese curds
Snack: 3 1/2 inch slices of cheddar cheese
Dinner: Boneless skinless baked chicken breast, 2 c. lettuce w/induction-friendly honey mustard dressing

... Weekends = not my best when it comes to eating on time. I always sleep in, nap, etc. But I'm in ketosis wooohooo! We bought a scale tonight but it's not digital so it doesn't do the .oz. I'm exchanging it tomorrow and very excited to be precise about my amounts.

Off subject -- anyone watch the Olympics Opening Ceremony last night? It was absolutely GORGEOUS. I doubt any other country will be able to ever top it. Wow! Breath taking.
