    yes i definatly can if it means me not gaining the weight. i cant believe that one can of diet coke done that heart broken lol. i know its only been 2 days but its hard work lol. especially compared to what i used to eat.

    My stomach is making really werid noises lol :S x

      i saw an documentary where this person gave up drinking fizzy drinks and he lost 7-8 sts. its shocking to see that. i know its diet cokes but it has ingredients in there that some people cant handle in their body. i would definitely stop drinking it to see how your body reacts.

          Morning to all!

          Sassy~Glad to hear your Aunt is recovering so well from what sounds like a very serious surgery. She sounds strong and determined. Also, it sounds like your body handled the cheats ok. Thankfully!

          Laura~the diet coke..some people do get effected by that. I think if it was just one diet coke and you drink extra water to make up for it, you might find its ok. I love diet coke but dropped it completely when I started Atkins in April. I drink coffee twice a day and feel that is enough of a gamble for me and try to drink only water beyond that. I did make kool aid with splenda yesterday but actually didn't even like it all that much. Once in a while I drink a diet soda made with splenda but try to limit that.

          Focus~I am guilty of "legal" cheats too. I really need to get back to being serious. Yesterday, I was out of town and unprepared and didn't eat anything "wrong" but still didn't eat how I should have (or could of if I was prepared).

          I am just overtired today and despite what I just said will probably have extra coffee today. My problem with coffee is the splenda and cream I use in it.

            whats kool aid?? i drank 4 litres water yest. been drinking loads. so thirsty nd hot all the time x

              Kool aid is a powdered drink mix available in different flavors. You can buy it already presweetened with sugar, or a presweetened sf version..and just mix with water. Or you can buy unsweetened packets and mix it with your own sweetener (like splenda).

                      hey everyone!!! hope things are going well. monday was weigh in day and the start of week 2 of induction. i'm very happy to report that i lost a whopping 9 lbs!!!!!!!!! i couldn't believe it, my jaw about hit the floor, and i was a smilin' all day!!!!!

                      had a couple busy days at work monday and tuesday, put in 10 hrs both days, so was too tired to get online and post, gonna try to catch up with everyone tonight.

                      sham-wtg on the 100 lb lost in a year, that's wonderful!!!!

                      laura-hope you are doing well. about the diet drinks, i personally drink them and don't feel they are a hinderence to me. i know that if i drank more water that would be better for me, but just haven't gotten over the diet pop addiction yet. IMO, i think it's really a "miles may vary" kind of thing. some people can and some can't.

                      whatsername-sounds like you are just so busy with family, dogs, and just life in general. don't forget to try and take some time for yourself. go for a walk and try to get some relaxation if you can. i totally understand about the shedding dogs, our basset hounds we had were really bad shedders too. that's the only thing that i don't miss about them. hope everything diet wise is going well.

                      Norah-Fruits!!!! i'm so jealous!!! i can't wait until i get to the fruit rung!!! looking forward to watermelon and strawberries. it'll be a while yet before i get there though, i'm gonna atleast do one week of extended induction, and then start climbing the rungs.

                      focus-stay strong hun. i know it's tough, but you can do this. i would definately say yes, that if you stayed on this for a year, you would lose weight. just remember though that this should be a lifetime commitment, and not something you can put a time frame on. i know it's something that i have a tough time committing for life, but i know when i stray something always draws me back. sometimes i stray longer than i should and have alot of damage to undue, but i chalk that up to me being human. i really can't say for sure that one might not gain a little weight here and there because that comes with the territory of adding things back in when you climb the rungs to find out what foods your body can stand. once you eliminate the foods causing the gain though the weight should come right back off. that's why the good dr told us to introduce one food at a time slowly as we begin climbing the rungs.

                      sassy-good to see ya checkin in. on the cheats, we all have our moments, the good thing is you got back on track. glad your aunt is doing so well after her surgery.

                          Sham~I am so sorry if I have missed you. I have a notepad and try to write down everyone's names to stay on top of things. I notice your messages on the other forums and always enjoy reading them. Whenever I see a message from you or anyone else, I think.."That's a buddy!". Sorry again but please know I do notice your posts and how helpful you are to everyone.

                          Moniegail~Nice to hear from you. Your schedule does sound tiring. Hope you get some time to relax soon.

                              Hi Buddies! Sorry I've neglected you the last couple of days, but I've had the computer off because of bad weather, and then we got a new roof put on today ... the pounding made the whole house rattle so I gave the electronics the morning off

                                its day 5 - and i just done 45 mins of hard cardio workout - im pooped lol. Looked on weighing scales and i lost 6lbs. My offical weigh in day for week is sunday.
