    yes, part two is quite lengthy so giving everyone the time was essential. our schedule says we start that part tomorrow so it's good if some of you have got a jump start on.

      ANSWERS FOR PART ONE ARE POSTED IN THE PUZZLE THREAD. directly under the fill in you printed off.

      YOUR PART TWO FILL IN THE BLANKS IS POSTED directly under that. those answers will be posted on saturday, november 17.

      when you get done with part two, post in this thread that you finished and i'll continue to update the chart.

      i am sure there will be many comments and questions during this part two. i look forward to the conversation as we start reading about actually doing

        Woo hoo, I got 100% on part one.

        Part two is the section of my book that's all dog eared, scribbled in and paper clipped! It's my favorite part of this book.

          mine too. my pages are coming unglued and i have no doubt i'll be doing some taping before i get thorugh part two this time around.

            My book's falling apart too ... very well used! I think my fav part is part one though... it gets me so enthusiastic.

                I finished part one and my homework. Couldn't post when I finished yesterday because I was out of town without computer connection.

                I really enjoyed re-reading part 1--looking forward to Part 2!

                  Me Too! Finished with part one, 100%. I was able to add to the hot pink highlighted areas in my book. It's looking pretty colorful.

                    i'm glad you did get finished! wouldn't look so good for the Challenge Helper to not get done.

                            i managed to get chapter 10 and 11 done before the race started.
                            i made a few notes:

                            1. sucrolose (which is Splenda) end in ...ose. it's okay. maltose and fructose end in ...ose and not allowed. i don't like the way all that worded, it could be confusing.
                            3 servings a day! so if your drinking coffee with splenda and then a can of diet soda which is at least 2 servings, then eating jello and then another cup of coffee... well you've overdone your splend allowance.

                            2. things that weren't so sweet tasting to me before are not sweet tasting to me. for example, carrots have a sweet taste and if you are able to eat banana's now... wow! i can't believe i use to cut up a banana and then put sugar on it to sweeten it up. no wonder i was fat!

                            3. if you aren't in an exercise challenge, or doing some kind of routine on your own, i think we are seeing a pattern of what we know is comeing... EXERCISE IS NOT NEGOTIABLE. even a 30 minute walk, 4 times a week will make a difference, as dr. atkins states.

                            4. okay... who memorized the 12 RULES OF INDUCTION? we probably know them all and have handed out the advice concerning them many times but memorize them? nope, i can say i have not.

                            5. i liiked the words "firm commitment" that dr atkins used on page 118, A Matter of Morale. i think this is an all too often problem. sometimes, it seems way to easy for someone to eat off plan, take a side tour or whatever. i needed to lose weight in the worst way but just didn't feel the commitment. when i had my b/p checked and it was so extremely high, that was the day i decided to do this. the commitment took hold and i've not looked back.

                            6. we are not allowed nuts and seeds on induction so i take issue with the induction menu on page 133.

                            okay, i'll stop. i underlined a mess of stuff and starred some things but those things stood out to me.

                              I started the 2nd assignment today as I sat in the laundromat...so much fun!! I had the place to myself & was getting into my book. Lo & behold someone came & brought an obnoxious 11 yr old boy. Now I love kids but he was over the top obnoxious!!!

                              Anyway I'm really enjoying the book once again.
                              Jimmie I'm with you on the Induction menu's provided...totally contradicts what Dr. A told us. Commitment is essential! Yep one must exercise!!!!

                                Too much to do yesterday and today, but I will be sitting at the hospital (UVA)for I don't know how many hours tomorrow, while my brother has brain surgery, so I already have my book and questions packed in the same bag as my bible (I'll have my holy bible and my low carb bible with me!). Hope I'm not too nervous to concentrate. I also have an appointment at UVA with my surgeon for a follow-up in the afternoon.

                                I am supposed to be released to begin exercise in another week or two and I can't wait. At this time, I am still not allowed to raise my arms above my head or completely extend my arms, so I'm not thinking I'll be able to do much upper body stuff for longer than that, but I can do something. I have not been allowed to do any exercise since February, and my losses came to a screeching halt after that. I know the only way I will get these last pounds off is by exercising at least five days per week.
