Re: 2007 Read The Book Challenge
Didn't feel well last night so didn't read as much as I wanted. I'm currently on Chapter 13 & have highlighted numerous sections. Talking about goal weights, the BMI chart etc... I love this line...
"This isn't climbing Mount Everest; you can reach your goal weight."
This section is also reassuring as I feel it's okay that my weight loss is slow. I'm losing & that is all that matters. I use to get bummed when I would read posts about people losing 13+ pounds during Induction. Several things Dr A wrote are comforting!
"When people learn that they can lose weight quickly, as they do during Induction, they sometimes take their ability to lose weight for granted. They don't think in terms of a lifetime commitment to the Atkins lifestyle~just a quick fix for overindulgence. The result of this faulty thinking is yo-yo dieting and metabloic resistance to weight loss."
"The slower the progress, the more chance you have to permanently change bad habits over the long term."
That is my goal~~to change bad habits!!! I am truly appreciating the journey of every pound & inch I lose!!!
Have a great day my fellow readers!
