It is very dim outside for 9:30 am and I am so grateful I don't have to work today, I can stay home and listen for tornadoes with my family and not worry.

Oh.. this is the weigh challenge thread... I did go ahead and weigh, and am down to 221. That puts my loss to date at 21 pounds. I am starting to get compliments from my 16 year old... and that far outweighs any scale!

I had to remember to weigh.. not doing it everyday could become a habit!

On the good news front, this hurricane could have been much worse in Houston and the refinery areas and our oil/gas infrastructure should recover decently. Don't pay the price gouger prices, good grief the reports! there will be trucks rolling again soon.

    Ya'll take care!
I am so glad you guys are ok! I was just looking at pictures of the damage this morning yikes!

And I stepped on the scale this morning and I'm at 158.5. Yay!

Here in Austin all we've got so far today from Hurricane Ike is grey skies and a little windy. S'posed to start raining soon.

Didn't weigh all week until just now, down 6.5 pounds, yippee! After pretty much a 2-week stall, all I did differently this week was switch from Splenda (which I found out the powdered Splenda and powdered Nutrasweet contains sugars as fillers) to a Stevia-based sweetner called Sweetleaf. Rock & roll!!!

          Hi Everyone,

Congratulations to all of you who stayed strong!
I almost didn't get on the scale this morning but I started a new rung so I had to see what was going on. Down 1 pound, and I'm gracious. It's not as fast of a loss as I anticipated but I keep reminding myself that I am losing, and not gaining and that's a wonderful feeling.
I hope all of you in Texas are doing okay, I know it's a stressful time and there are many thoughts and prayers going out to you guys right now. Stay strong.
And all of you guys that said you were up on the scale, please don't give up. Make it your goal to do some research about why our body fluctuates in weight (TOM, water retention due to muscle repair or excess sodium, etc... ) and memorize the answers so that you don't get discouraged.
Now, everyone put the scales away and lets get focused on another weigh-less, life enhancing week!

Wow I lost 4lbs. I'll definitely take it. 5.5 in almost two weeks. So I'm figuring I'm a normal weight resistance person.

Got up this morning and dh was like.. ok hurry up.. go weigh yourself.. LMAO.. I think he was more excited about this than I was! I told him lastnight, that this past week I have had more energy than I have had thus far and lastnight I was feeling thinner.

*drum roll* The scale wanted to say I had lost 5lbs but it wasn't 100% sure, so I'm taking credit for 4lbs lost! Also it was measuring day.. I lost 3.5 inches.. that gives me a total of 30lbs & 33.1 inches lost in 8 weeks!! I'm pretty happy with that

Also.. lastnight I was visiting a gf and we were talking about the weight loss and how my 14 jeans were getting baggy (can now pull them off when they're done up!) and that once they don't fit I'm in trouble, as I they were my smallest jeans. She came down with some jeans for me.. my future goal.. a size 11!! OMGG.. I have not worn an 11 since the end of 1993 when I got pregnant with my youngest son! I'm very excited to have a new goal.. those jeans will fit soon.. I'm very determined!

Dh and I are regulars at 2 of the many Starbucks in town, and lastnight the one lady who serves us commented to me, "Are you losing weight?" Hahahaha.. Ummm yeah.. she said she noticed I don't order my Venti Mocha's anymore LOL .. It's sad I know.. I miss them.. but I don't miss the 30lbs I've lost! I just have a Grande House coffee now when we go, and I use a lil cream and 2 packs of Sugar Twin and it tastes pretty good. I had to make the sacrifice, so we could still enjoy our outting.

Congrats to everyone for either losing weight, inches, or the fact of staying off the scales for the week!! Lets all try to have another successful week!!!

To those in danger of Ike.. you're all in our prayers.

I'm a little lost myself. I've only posted twice and not everyday but I'm not on the list and I received the PMs about the challenge. I thought it was one time during the week as well, and I figured that could be weigh-day.

Could we clarify? Or let me know if I am unable to participate in this challenge as my name was not mentioned.

However, for the record, (whether I can still be a part of this or not) I was scale free all week.

Hey, I was scale-free yesterday, which completed my whole week being off the scales. I weighed today and lost 4.2 lbs. I, too, thought we only had to check in once a week; I did every day except yesterday but I'm pertty sure it was stated that once a week was all that was required. Just want to double-check before heading into next week.
