Hey girls, how are you faring today?

I'm feeling less crabby today, but those 8 pounds just ain't moving :anger
ok, ok, I won't whinge about it here - already did that in my journo, at least I'm sooooooooo grateful right now that I don't have cravings right now.

Last couple of days I was back on strict induction ie 3 cups veg, limited cheese, meats till satisfied, yadayadaya... so I didn't bother with Fitday. Today I'm back entering it and back up to eating 20g carbs - so ext induction-like for another day, then back to OWL for the weekend hopefully, and aiming for the 25g carbs and this time I'm gonna watch those cals too - I'm not sure if eating more that 2,000 cals is that good for me, but I'll try. But if it means choosing between a cheat or eating too many cals/fats, I think I'd rather over-cal. (please, please, please 8 pounds, do disappear)

    B - smoked salmon 3-egg omelette
L - 2 lamb chops with 1 cups green beans
D - Asian greens 4-egg omelette with chilli & garlic cooked in lots of olive oil
    CARBS 19G CALORIES 2,193 70%fats/4%carbs/26%protein

At this point you'd think I'd stop eating, considering I've got high enough cals, but I'm sitting here, the boards are really quiet, so I pull out the pork rinds. I've eaten 2 cups with nearly 64oz of water... and my cals are real high... but I figure better pork rinds with lots of water than something worse?

Hey, are you girls aware that atkins diet chat will still be running when the boards are down? I sure will need to pop in and I hope there's someone around when I come on.

I'm absolutely drowning in Sydney here - there's sooooooo much rain right now!!! Some parts of the state have had as much as 20 inches of rain and still going!

Hey, Tickle, have you done that BMR thing to find out how many calories you should be eating? Here is the link:
Use our BMR Calculator to help calculate your BMR quickly and simply. This and many more tools at your fingertips on weightlossforgood.co.uk.

I found it very helpful, especially since as I lose weight, the amount drops. And if you want to chat, I noticed we are on about the same time in the mornings Monday thru Friday...I'll let you know, or vice versa, then we can chat! It would be fun!
Pork Rinds and water are alot better than other things! Good on ya, Ari! We're having rain right now too. We were flooding like crazy in the area a couple weeks ago...usually we're in our dry season right now. The rains came a good two months later then usual. The earth is messed up season wise...I'm convinced! Hope you don't wash away, there!

So, I'm getting ready to breakfast now...my menu will be the same as yesterday except for dinner, when I'll be having chicken with flax seed gravy and mashed cauliflower.

      Ok, have great days, ladies!

flax seed gravy... that sounds interesting, but I bet it's nice!!! Every morning I eat a tablespoon of flax seeds and I love the nutty flavour of em... so I bet a gravy would be excellent! How do you make it Marion?

I hope both of you will be around during your afternoons too - that would kinda be like my morning, so hopefully I can catch up with you both to see how yous are doing :hug

Yeah, I checked out my BMR - only a few days ago actually. I need something like 1,400 cals to survive ie sleep, breathe etc. I worked out my AMR ie with walking around, getting ready, standing, I would need approx 1,700 cals. (and that should keep me on weightloss too)

Fitday tells me if I sit around all day, I can have just over 2,000 cals before I stop losing, so I try to stay just under it... but if I do go over, I'm kinda ok - just can't do it everyday, you know?

Hey, out of curiosity, I was wondering how both of you were going with your BMRs?

Just did my BMR again this morning, its dropped quite a bit! Its at 2190, and I've been eating about that. Usually I try to get under it to speed up my weight loss.

yeah, ain't it weird that the more we lose, the less cals we need to eat? ie our BMR gets lower? I find that fascinating!

              Hi :wave

Been busy today! Mari, no offense taken. I took it for how you meant so don't worry. I don't offend easily anyway :joy

My BMR is around 1331-1347 min. My workout rate is around 1499. I stay within those or under but I'm still not losing. I did the candida test this morning and so I get to take more supplements and modify my diet even more :raving

Hopefully that will help. I didn't think I had it because I don't have many of the symptoms except for foggy head and fatigue, which I associated with menopause. But I couldn't figure out why I wasn't losing if I was exercising and staying within my carb and calorie counts.

I think I need to eat more flax. I have only had it in flax bread and crackers. I love the stuff!!!

              See y'all tomorrow! :icondance

You know, Debbie, I did the KISS diet for just about 4 weeks, before I couldn't anymore, and thats what I think kick started my weight loss again. I was SUPER hard to eat that way, but it helped clear up alot of my symptoms, and I don't have stomach trouble nearly as much anymore. I still have plugged ears, and sinus trouble, and a cloudy head sometimes, but nothing like I used to. Just couldn't handle eating that way myself. But, best of luck to you! I hope it helps!

Today was a BAD day for me! Not an all out cheat, but I did have a couple little animal crackers, a couple swigs of my son's chocolate shake, about 7 large strawberries, and a couple little bites of the bun on my hamburger... :yikes Oh, and three french fries! I just had sweet cravings for the first time in a few days. At least I didn't eat everything in volumes, but its still added quite a few carbs. I'm being good now though...eating my dried out taco salad. Tomorrow is a new day without any mistakes in it!

                Hope you're all behavin'!

Hey Mari, hang in there! Damn those cravings! :anger At least you didn't have the whole shake or ALL the fries! Yep tomorrow is another day!

I admit the candida "diet" has me scared. It's gonna be VERY difficult for me to give up my wine. I did give it up for 3 weeks the first time I started Atkins. It all makes sense to me now. I thought it was just menopause. But with all the exercise, few (and not serious) cheats, I should still be losing some weight but I'm gaining. I know this is going to be hard but I'll do my best.

I'm going to wait until after my surgery next Friday to start it. That way I don't have to list all the pills I'll be taking.. LOL.. yes, they ask for supplements on the form!

Well, time for me to split. Later! :wave

Do you have to go on antibiotics for this surgery? That stuff really magnifies the problem. Maybe you could take at least the acidophilus each time you take and antibiotic, to keep you from losing all your good bacteria? Just a thought. I hope your surgery goes super smooth! :hug

Thanks :wave I won't need antibiotics. It will be an outpatient 30 min job. I might get some good pain meds though :laughing

I'll be around tomorrow sometime. My surgery isn't until next Friday the 8th.

Ok, it's been pretty good catching up with everyone in chat - wish chat was frequented more often - it definitely is more helpful for stopping any potential cheats or carb indulges

Board looks absolutely FAB!!! I love it. Took a bit of getting used to, what with all the colours, icons and boxes to look at, but eventually it started to grow on me. Even chat is more interactive, and it's been great!

I'll post back in l8er with my Sat foods - c ya!

Howdie girls....whew, late night last night! LOL! This mornig, I am TIRED, and wish I could go back to bed, but got lots and lots to do today! GETTING THE SWIMMING POOL HOME!!!!

I don't know what my body is trying to tell me, but even after two days of eating poor food choices, my weight was 314 this morning! I'm grateful, because thats actually a new low since restarting I think. But then, when you're this heavy, weight drops a little easier...I'll slow as I shrink!

                            B. eggs, sausage, bacon 2 of each
                            L. Broasted Chicken and a salad
                            S. Brats and green beans

Ok, I'm off to dry my hair, then go face the insane crowds at Super Walmart! Bye!

Sorry girls... another whinge from me these 8 pounds aren't budging!!! I'm proving Dr A's comment about excess carbohydrates converting to body fat... no whooshie in sight, TOM's over *sigh* I'm like 1 whole inch fatter around the waist *boohoo* I think you're gonna get a pretty depressed Tickler till I've gotten these 8lbs off - hopefully this misdemeanour will stick in my brain real bad and make me think twice about falling off the wagon again... honestly, I'm like the same weight I was 2 months into Atkins, and it's what 6 months since I started? 4 months hard work erased by 5 days of overcarbing... and I wasn't even eating lots of junkfood like potato chips or sweets! It was just pasta, rice, bread *boohoohoohoo* (and these crying icons aren't even ready for use yet) *SNIFF*

Ok, what did I eat Saturday?

B - nothing coz I was soooo depressed AND I logged into chat and got hooked by all the people in there
L - not really, so I snacked the afternoon with 2 hard-boiled eggs with some caviar, 1 cup of celery sticks with smoked trout dip, 6oz of fried rainbow trout from leftover din
D - we discovered we'd forgotten to take the pork ribs out of the freezer!!! So it was takeaway Chinese - mabo tofu (lots of cornstarch in sauce I bet), spicy fried green beans and braised pork ribs - all the food had a slightly sweet taste to it, so I bet they put sugar too...
I'm not even gonna bother feeling bad about dinner - my cal & carb count was sooooooooo low coz I hardly ate anything earlier, plus what can it do to my 8lbs? I can't put on more

Ok, I'm going... man I sound too depressing for words, not good for you to listen to me - pathetic really feeling sorry for myself
